[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies. This takes place after the Knights have returned from rescuing Gar in New York City, but before the planned Keijen Blade concert at the beginning of 2017.

[ he comes to open the door after a bit, his office lit only candlelight beyond. ] Ah, Sir Hathaway. Do come in.

Sure. [Hesitating briefly in the doorway before moving inside, Rose takes a moment to look around the office, half expecting (or hoping) to see a flashing red sign that would tell her what this is about. (Spot 36).]

What... can I do for you?

[ nothing so obvious at all, really. his office is pretty bare, holy symbols and relics of ilmater here and there. ] I merely wished to see how you were doing, if it's not too much to ask.

Uh... [ She looks, well, a little thrown by that, to be honest, a hand tangling in her long dark hair as she pushes it back from her face. ]

Yeah, sure... I mean, I'm fine? I'd be better if people stopped trying to blow me up but, otherwise?

I imagine that might get a bit traumatic, all things considered, yes. [ he moves to walk around the desk to the far side ] But that wouldn't be unnatural, considering what you've been through.

[ Rose merely shrugs in response: Her body language casual, her replies almost flippant. ]

It goes with the territory. [Rather than immediately take a seat, she moves to brace herself against the back of a chair in front of his desk, weight shifting from one foot to the other.]

They seem to like blowing stuff up, so.

Ideally, it's something we avoid. But you've been feeling like yourself since your return?

Yes? [With a whopping Wis check of 4:] Why is somebody else in the team not?

[Yep she thinks you mean her return from New York.]

It's not uncommon for those who come back from the dead to feel a sense of disconnection from their previous self.

[There's a flicker of understanding in her eyes this time but continuing to not roll below a 15 (pre-mod) for Will Saves and Bluffs...]

Oh, that. [With a Nat 20 this time, Rose dismisses the notion with a shrug and shake of her head.]

No I'm fine. It's not like it's the first time it's happened, so.

Only the more reason that things may be complicated now. The body doesn't get more accustomed to such a shock - rather it's likely to deteriorate from it.

Deteriorate. [Rose blinking at Solace as her arms shift from the back of the chair to fold across her chest.]

Meaning, what. Exactly?

It tends to weaken the constitution. But that can also weaken the connection between the body and the spirit.

Uh huh. [Unsure what to really say right now. She can hardly ask him if that would really apply when you were rezzed by Lucifer.]

Well I, haven't really noticed much of a change but, I wouldn't know what to look for, so... I don't suppose you can really test for that sort of thing, can you?

Not quite, but it's worth noting any changes in behavior - trouble sleeping, unusual moods, that sort of thing.

The trouble sleeping kind of comes with the job as well.

So does most of it, unfortunately. Nevertheless, it can be a sign we should take into account with the greater picture.

Alright. [Nodding her head, but neither confirming or denying if either have been an issue.]

Can I ask a question? [One she will undoubtedly ask anyway.] Why now?

It's been long enough for you to have possibly noticed something. And I heard about the events of the end of the last mission you went on.

[Embracing the Winchester Paranoia, Rose quietly scrutinizes Solace (Sense Motive: 25), before replying.]

I'd rather avoid exploding things if I can help it, but I'm not a headcase or anything. I can do my job.

[ it would seem to strike her that something about this isn't quite adding up ] This isn't about attempting to bench you, Sir Hathaway. Merely concern for your well being.

And who exactly shares this concern of yours? [A very definite shift in her demeanor as her eyes narrow on Solace.]

I imagine we're all concerned for you, Rose.

[He eyes narrow infinitesimally as he calls her by her first name, Rose shoving a hand into her pocket and seeming to consider something before breaking the silence.]

Well, there's no need. [The mask of calm back in place but she no longer appears casual or at ease.]

If there were a problem. I would go to Wynn.

Normally, I would advise as much, but lately... [ he frowns a bit, but shakes his head ] Very well, Sir Hathaway. That will be all, then.
