A several year operation investigating a Consortium known as PTC run by a mysterious man - now revealed to be a ogre - named Estavan has led to the discovery that he made a a business deal with a trio of demons. To no one's surprise, that did not end well, and Estavan has asked the Knights for help in setting things right. Estavan has asked the Knights to head to his warehouse in London and keep the creatures busy while he goes to meet with the Consortium's Ruling Council to find a way to take care of them. While Phineas, the Doctor, Val'drin, and Alec stay behind to clean things up at Estavan's home, Cordelia and Kate phone for back-up to meet them downtown at the warehouse.

They meet up in the warehouse district of the city, outside the large building.  There are several empty trucks parked out in the lot, but otherwise, no visible lights on, and only one door set in the side of it, and a few closed heavy loading doors.

[Kate huffs and resettles, trying again to take slightly better shots (attack 24, damage 10, attack 23, damage 5).]

[ astrid's bullet actually strikes the thing's carapace and dents it, and kate follows it up with two more well placed shots.

that, of course, draws its attention. it turns and charges forward, which means that elijah gets to slip in a turn to attack it ]

[Elijah grapples (33/18+15) and wrestles it into submission (32/17+15), taking the opportunity to do something he'd never thought he'd do and bite the spider. (attack/damage 29)]

[ the creature emits a high pitched shriek before latching onto elijah's neck in return with its hideous mouth-pinchers (atk 29, dmg 9). annnd its eyes start glowing orange... and then abruptly blast fire right at elijah, point blank (touch attk 27). 47 fire damage, unless he makes a reflex save of 23+, in which case it is only half damage.

cordelia screams in unison and fires another shot, but it comes nowhere near (atk 14) ] WHY CAN IT SHOOT LASER BEAMS?!!

[astrid doesn't know but she would LIKE IT TO DIE which is maybe why she aims real good. (atk nat 20!!!; 14 dmg)]

[okay that fucking hurt (reflex save 27) but he retaliates by draining (+5hp, 9 con dmg) so if you've ever wondered what spider blood tastes like he's ur guy??]

Because it's a magical spider in a massive interdimensional warehouse.

[The quip comes quickly, before Kate shoots at it twice again (attack 27, damage 6, attack 21, damage 7), her response clearly loaded with sarcasm.]

Why wouldn't it shoot lasers?

[ it continues to bite elijah back (atk 25, dmg 9), as this time lightning crackles out of its face at him, because fuck you, let go. 36 electricity dmg, reflex save dc 23+ for half. cordy takes another useless shot :| ]

[astrid takes another shot at it with no comment. fuck this, ok. (atk 24; 8 dmg)]

[stop shooting things at him??? (reflex save 31) just gonna keep biting the damn thing because fucking DIE. (atk/damage 29)]

[Kate will also take another round of just shooting at the spider. DIE SPIDER DIE (attack 23, damage 7, attack 21, damage 14).]

[ and between all of their attacks, the thing begins to weaken, finally loosening its grasp back on elijah and then keeling over, where its slimy body slides off the edge and goes falling infinitely into the air below.

Yeah, sure, and I'll be the second. Let's never do that again, okay? Great.

[yeah elijah's just gonna be over here wiping his mouth and checking his suit because #priorities.]

[ the pixies go back to shaking the little bars of their cage.

"Free us! Free us! We can help your friend!"

you know, that one who's turned to stone or whatever ]

[she glances over at the pixies and sighs deeply.] ... Yeah, yeah, we should. Unless one of you guys have the magic to fix this, I've had a stone teammate before and dragging them around is the worst.

[Kate sighs a bit in agreement before making her way back to the cage to try and open it (disable device nat 20, 23 total).]

Warn me if another one of those creepy spiders shows up.

[ kate no more than barely touches the lock than it bursts open and the pixies come whizzing out, zooming around their heads. a pair of them light on topher's shoulders and start casting a spell, glittery dust flying everywhere as they do so.

annnd color starts to flood over him as he turns back to flesh. ]

Good, because that's not a spider but something's coming... [ and sure enough, an island of wooden crates and barrels, stacked high on a wide pallet, is coming towards them rapidly. something in the middle of the crates and barrels appears to be on sale, though the flames seem to be concentrated and restricted to a single location on the pallet. ]

[Topher comes back to life and proceeds to yelp:] PIPES.

[Because when one gets turned to stone and then back to flesh, the first thing you should always do is make Harry Potter references.

He falls backwards onto his butt and looks around in confusion.] ...Is something on fire?

[killmypatience]

[Kate turns towards what Cordelia is indicating and sees both the cart on fire and how fast it's approaching and the glances back to the forklift beyond the pallet.]

Get back on the forklift.

[maybe they'll have a chance to at least climb on and have something they can drive, and not just get bounced uncontrollably into a sea of pallets. But she will go try and do that and hope that they can get off before impact?]

[ reflex saves please! dc 15 to make it onto the forklift. cordelia doesn't bother to ask questions, leaping towards the forklift with a little shriek (reflex 18) ]

[Kate leaps after her like the graceful gazelle she is, landing easily and making her way to the driving controls (reflex save 26).]

[andblockbuster]

[after two action points, which translate as Topher starting to jump and getting scared, he finally LEAPS MAJESTICALLY onto the forklift (reflex 22).]

[after watching amateur hour with topher brink, astrid leaps across like a graceful swan. (ref 25) ]
