Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return. With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane. Their destination? A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains. This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia. Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair. It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

[ in a hilarious series of fort saves, the two people shivering in the fucking cold are mark and fred. his teeth chatter as he says: ] S-somewhere warmer, at least? [ he grips alainn back, probably at least partially for the body heat ]

Warmer is a relative term here, I'm afraid. But da, we should get out of this wind. [ jack leads the way with mik's nod, and they head towards that walkway, which offers shelter from the wind via the length of the building itself and a slight overhand above their heads. jack and mikhail exchange a few quiet words in russian, and mikhail keeps glancing back at the group to take them all in. a spot check of 20+ would notice that when he sees gar, his eyes widen a bit in recognition and some concern, but he says nothing and looks back to push aside a bearskin that is hang down heavily in the entrance archway, blocking the wind.

it's much warmer inside, (though still cold) the glow of fires visible from a few rooms off the hallway. the place is very simply decorated, a lot of dark wooden tables and chairs that look handcrafted. mikhail leads them into the first room. this kitchen/dining area is a large square room with a few long thick wooden tables set up like an old timey tavern. there's a cauldron over a fire going and the light dances across the room, which is entirely empty. ]

Seats for all... I think.

[ buffy is regretting her decision not to put on a full snow jacket tbh. she's rubbing her upper arms. ]

G-great. [ she trudges over to the table benches and pops a seat. ] Real cozy place you've got here.

It suits our purposes. And perhaps yours. Jack told me a bit on the walk in. [ he shakes his head ] You've come to the right place.

If Wynn is gone, and the stakes are this high, you have all the help we can give.

What do you mean "if Wynn is gone"? [ another russian accented voice pipes up from the doorway, although less thick than mikhail's, more practiced in english.

the man is decidedly tall, dark, and every kind of handsome - one of those men who are clearly too handsome and well aware of the fact. and unlike mikhail in his thick coat, he's dressed in an impeccably tailored suit, as if he were just coming from a formal party.

he stops in the doorway and looks around at the large assembly, which he addresses with slight amusement in his tone, covering his caution with a quip. ]

Did he evict the entire Knighthood? I'm not sure we have enough room at the inn for hundreds.

[he waves like what's up fam (like he ever did anything besides spend 99% of his time in krozna in his room crying but ukw. ukw. whatever.)]

Not exactly. It's just us.

[Charming jogs up behind and puts a hand on the shoulder of the man in the doorway.]

I heard the plane come in. What's going-- Finnick? [Bro, he thought you got out of here. It's only been like...a few days.] What are you doing-- [One day he'll finish a thought, but he spots another familiar face.] Vi?

[Okay now he's super confused.]

[ vi turns from settling a baby blanket around lucia's shoulders like a cape to see david at the door and fucking hurdles a table to sprint over to him (tumble 26) and tackle him in a hug. so many shit things lately, but look at this good thing!! ]

[ she glances at vi and charming, decides she doesn't know anything about that, and instead looks to christian bale. ]

It's more like the Knighthood evicted us. Have you heard what happened in L.A.?

[Rose would like to know what the fuck it is with her and small secluded locations in the middle of Russia. This is so painfully familiar, she half expects a tall man wearing flamboyant scarves to jump out at any moment.

She is, however, far too distracted to linger on that or worry too much about the cold, despite the way she hugs herself. From the moment they step foot off the plane, she appears to be looking for something, her disappointment causing her to appear almost pained at Mikhail's appearance.

Until that moment, she'd been clinging to the hope that Wynn would be here, waiting to greet them.

Sticking close to Sam and Dean, Rose moves with the group inside, taking a seat in view of the exits of the room, her ears pricked for movement beyond their gathering. (Listen 34.) ]

And it wasn't Wynn's doing. [Never fear, super Wynn-Stan is here.

She's also keeping an eye on you, Mikhail, cause despite her shitty roll, Rose would have had to have been blind to miss that look (Spot 26).]

We do not hear much here. [ mik watches vi hug charming and adds: ] It seems some of you know David.

This is Dominik Tsvetimir. Have a seat, Dom. I think it might be best for us to hear all of this and tell the others ourselves.

So they don't lose it and we have another incident on our hands? [ he sounds a bit smug, more than overly concerned, but also concedes mikhail's point and comes in to approach jack. ] Jack Chessing, looking spry as ever. [ he too, shares an arm clasp with the dragon's claw, patting him on the back as well ] I can't help but wonder who's in charge back there if you're here.

Hasmed and Solace have declared themselves temporary Dragon's Claws, as it were. The son of the god of Nightmares summoned him in Los Angeles, by breaking the seal on his otherworldy prison. Somehow, he managed to slay the god upon his arrival, and seems to have taken his powers.

Wynn stayed behind to engage him, likely to give us all a chance to get out alive. Our team is believed to be compromised, and Hasmed and Solace have taken control of the Knighthood.

... You should have warned me I was going to need a drink for this conversation.

[Raises her hand from where she's sitting next to Lucia:]

Are drinks an option? Because I could definitely use one or twelve?

[Sorry, folks, because she has had a Day, and she didn't think that alcohol would be available in Knight Rehab.]

It gets worse. They believe we're compromised by his ally, some kind of ancient devil calling herself the Mind Master, who has whooped our asses every time we've tried to touch her. [ she casts a short, guilty gaze in felicity's direction on that thought. ] What we're up against with these two ... it's like nothing this world has seen before.

Demon. [Her face ever so serious as she looks from one man to the other.] And yes, as in from Hell.

[Rose glances as Jack, almost as if looking for his guidance on how much to say before adding.]

There's more but... [A brief look in Dean's direction.] Some things you may be better off not knowing, for your own sakes. We have enemies with a talent for reading minds.

[Charming catches Vi as she vaults herself towards him. He gives her a big warm hug because wow it's nice to see someone so excited to see him. When he pulls back, he keeps an arm around her while he focuses on what the others are saying. There's a small flinch in his expression when Dom mentions an incident. His eyes drop to the ground briefly, but he returns to the matter at hand.]

How can we help? Or do you just need a place to stay?

[Alainn is snuggled up to Mark, as much for comfort as warmth, her grip on his hand tight. She wets her lips, looking between Rose and Jack then speaking up in a determined voice.]

Well, I for one am more than ready to stop being kept in the dark about all of this. We [indicating Mark and herself] picked up on enough rumor and innuendo back at HQ to get a good idea what all has been going on, but we weren't on the plane with all of you on the way to L.A. I know it's not up to me to say how much we should and shouldn't know, but honestly? We're kinda down to the nitty-gritty of it all, and I'd like to know what exactly we're signing up for.

The time has come to lay all our cards on the table. [She gives Rose a significant look before her next words, choosing them carefully. Remember that one thing that we have, you know, that thing??] All of our cards.

Considering you're the ones bringing this to our doors, I'm going to go ahead and agree with her. [ he nods to alainn ] We might be able to help you, but not if we don't know what we're up against. Devils and demons are a little... out there, I have to say. But if you're up against psions, well.

[ he smirks at mik, who doesn't smirk back ] I'm always down for fighting fire with fire.

The psion and the demon in question are one and the same. We know how it sounds. [ he glances at rose, dean, and buffy ] But there's no room to argue the existence of these things. They've infiltrated our own ranks, turned some of our own against God and nature.

[ to charming's former question, he adds: ] We need a Headquarters... although I thought perhaps there might be a thing or two to be learned here. We need to hone our skills.

[Spike's still mostly lurking towards the back and looking grumpy, and he nods emphatically at Alainn's words. He doesn't add to them, though. He made his position on secrets extremely clear already, and all it did was start fights. Maybe Alainn will have better luck, since she's a generally more pleasant person, but he's not ready to make any bets.]

Some of you might have to double up, but we should have the rooms. [ under his breath, dominik says "One more, now", which mikhail ignores pointedly ] There's always room in the village as well.

I trust your discretion in telling us what you feel we must know. I imagine such a situation is... complicated, to say the very least.

Perhaps we could have some time. [Myri suggests.] The little ones will want to stretch their legs a bit. And we can at least store our bags for the time being. [Myri still isn't sure if she's staying. She may need to sleep on it and see what her dreams say.]

We could all meet back in a few hours and share as much as we are able. [diplomacy 39]

[Sam seems to be behind this idea one hundred percent.]

It's not a bad idea. I think we're all a little tense and should come at this with clear heads.

[He might have ulterior motives too. Like talking about all this to Rose and his brother first.]
