Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

Charming & Phillip

[uncease]

[He takes his time after leaving Gar and the others, giving Phillip a little space. He assumes the man will be heading to his room, and the last thing he wants is to talk about all of this in the hall.

He knocks twice, but doesn't want for an answer. He just opens the door and slips inside.]

Hey. [Gonna take this slow at first. Well...as slow as one can after just barging in. He's not an expert at this okay.]

[selfsabotaging]

[ there's a crashing noise just as charming enters, and he would see phillip has swiped an arm across the pictures that were sitting there, and that they now lay on the floor upside down, pieces of glass beside them. he's seated at his desk, his hands on top of his head in anguish ] Not now.

[uncease]

[He's just going to...ignore that and move to sit on the edge of Phillip's bed.]

This place just got a lot smaller. I need to know if you're going to be okay around her.

[selfsabotaging]

I've waited years for this. Of course I will. [ his words are sharp and dismissive and emotionally charged ]

[uncease]

I'm guessing it didn't go how you imagined it might. [He didn't hear everything but it was obviously Not Good.]

[selfsabotaging]

[ there's a long beat, where he clearly doesn't want to say anything at all, but finally, the need to share this information overcomes him ] She's engaged.

[uncease]

[His shoulders slump as Phillip's reaction starts to make more sense. And even if he always assumed the admiration he had for Jeanne may not be as mutual as Phillip hoped, he wasn't expecting the let down to come with that sort of extra oomph.]

You had to imagine itight happen. It's been a long time.

[selfsabotaging]

And in all that time, my feelings have never wavered. [ his tone is basically accusatory at this point ] Not everyone is so fickle.

[uncease]

That's not fair and you know it. [He keeps his voice calm.] Would you rather find out she had spent all these years miserable?

[selfsabotaging]

She knew how I felt. [ that's not really an answer ]

[uncease]

And she also deserves to live a full life. Dont't you want that for her?

[selfsabotaging]

[ he slams one fist on the desk ] And I can give her that. In a way she deserves. With someone who is her intellectual equal, not just a ... a decorated figurehead.

[uncease]

[He keeps still, but there's some tension in his jaw at the outburst.]

That isn't up to you. if you truly care for her, if you respect her, then you need to respect the choice she made as the one that's best for her.

[selfsabotaging]

And what if she only made that choice because she thought it was the only one she had?

[uncease]

If that's the case, [It's not. But like...sure. If.] she knows now. But you can't assume what that means for her. Whatever her choice is, you need to respect it. I'm certain she knows how you feel. [hes not the king of subtle after all] The rest is up to her.

[selfsabotaging]

[ he slumps back in his chair, looking remorsefully back down at the pictures on the floor ] If she thinks I'm trapped here forever, she won't even consider it.

[uncease]

[Charming stands and moves to the nearest picture on the floor. He picks it up with one hand and puts the other hand on Phillip's shoulder.]

Maybe it's time to think about what you did to end up here. The only chance you have to ever leave is if you understand why it was wrong. And I know you don't think it was. But you've been here for years and I've yet to see you even try to see where Wynn was coming from. [Diplomacy 15. Trying so hard.]

[selfsabotaging]

[ he tenses a bit under david's hand, but very quietly, barely mumbled, he says: ] I understand why he was displeased. But what I did was...

Do you think anyone ever recognized the magnitude of it? However it turned out? No one else could have done that, and instead of utilizing that, he shoved me here.




I could have helped fixed it. I never meant to just leave it so.

[uncease]

Being able to do something and being able to understand that you shouldn't do it even though you can are very different things. Tell me- if you could go back- would you do it again?

[selfsabotaging]

That's an irrelevant question.

[uncease]

Humor me.

[selfsabotaging]

It's irrelevant because I know things now that I did not know then. You can't compare it with all those variables at play.

[uncease]

This isn't an experiment, Phillip. I'm curious what you've learned in your time here. If you believe the decision you made was worth all of this.

[selfsabotaging]

[ he literally just mumbles something to himself under his breath and picks up a book ]

[uncease]

[He rolls his eyes while Phillip is making a point not to look at him.]

[Trying to channel his inner Mik and find some remaining patience. But he'll bounce and close the door behind him. Time to go find Gar and make sure she's okay..]
