Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

If I'm being honest, still, I can't really say I wouldn't have done the same thing. Weeds need to be ripped up. They forfeited their lives the second they decided to use people as a product. There's people that are free because of you.

[ and maybe that is why wynn didn't kick him out like a bitey dog. she doesn't fully agree with all of his knightly appointments (deadpool, really?), but he thought long game by default, he had to know dom would be an asset eventually. ]

And, god, you've really ruined me for ever saying I'm so mad it made my blood boil.

[ he smirks at that ] To be fair, their deaths themselves don't hang that heavily on my conscience. But the fact was, I ruined some delicate diplomatic operations that probably got a lot more people killed, just to take out my anger on some human garbage.

The problem was that I didn't mean to do it, and it happened anyway. Who knew what else might stir that kind of anger in me, and whether they'd deserve the fate they got.

Well, I don't think he sent me here to learn how to shear sheep.

Probably not, no. Honestly, I think this is it for me. [ she shrugs against the pillow. ] I'm good at this, despite our horrifyingly shitty track record. Fighting makes sense to me. I have zero great ambitions.

You don't think what the Knights do constitutes a 'great ambition'?

I consider what the knights do to be basic human decency. [ protecting the downtrodden should be what everyone does, that should just be the way the world works. ]

Where I am from, people like me are born to protect humans from the threat of monsters they can't even see. Half mortal, half god, we were born to fight threats on both sides -- human and monstrous. We don't last very long usually, but we're naturally gifted at what we do. Might as well keep on what I was born to do.

I thought I mentioned that with the whole flower power thing, honestly. My mother is the goddess of Spring and queen of the Underworld. It's not a big deal, she's not a big deal.

Lately, it feels like no, not really. It's not like-- I've only met her once, we don't get brunch every third Wednesday.

What did she say to you?

It was seventeen years ago so I'm paraphrasing but it was basically: "hey, I'm your mysterious mom, by the way you're a demigod, that is why monsters are trying to kill you. I'm gonna bring you to the Roman legion so they can train you to not die. Peace out, kiddo, enjoy puberty, see you again never."

You had monsters trying to kill you as a child?

[graveflowers]

I don't remember that far back so I was always taking her word for it, but the rest of my life, yeah. Makes me seem super well adjusted, doesn't it?

What kind of monsters were these?

[graveflowers]

I punched a dragon in the face once? But it was the usual Greek and Roman mythical beasts, the ones in story books. Serpents, aeternae, giant ass ants, uh giant... giants, Stymphalian birds which make watching the Birds a thousand times scarier. A lot of it is blurry, my life, some of this I only know because of the memories the Malaak'a gave me.

Oh, the veil. I'm not from here. [ but her family... is. it's giving her a headache, trying to sort out her own family. why else would zeus..? she huffs a sigh, melodramatically dropping her forearm over her eyes. ]
