open ♔ castle farewell socialization

WHO || The Knights [ota!]
WHAT || The Knights prepare to depart for America
WHERE || The castle, London
WHEN || Directly after this is announced, Fall 2017
HOW || Actionspam
The acting Heads of the Knighthood - Hasmed and Solace - have made a decision that is not easy for many. Given the terrible state of everything happening in America, they've decided to relocate operations entirely to the States, and have secured a facility near Las Vegas. It is certainly possible, with the grim missions that lie before them, that many, or all, of the Knights may never return. Reactions to the announcement are certain to be strong, but it's time to choose what they will bring with them to their new life - and for some, to decide if it's a journey they can bring themselves to take.
[ This is the social log for anything before the Knights relocate to Las Vegas ]

... Rogers? [ look, val'drin never knew steve that well, but this guy looks at least remarkably close to what he remembers so he will just wildly assume THIS IS THE SAME GUY ] What brings you back?

Could it be another name that Rogerrik had taken for himself? It sounded close enough, and they looked enough alike that most people thought them twins before they knew the age difference. Had his brother been the one to pull him from the waters of death, and transported him here to this strange castle? Was he behind this, one of his twisted games he was so find of, toying with Torrigan for a few laughs before he murdered him as he had the rest of their family? Fear spiked along his spine, along with the first embers of anger, though he was quick to tamp both down deep. The man before him had seemed surprised by his presence here, which made Torrigan think it had been long enough since his brother had been here that he was probably safe, at least for a few days.
He gives a shake of his head and tries to force a normal smile, wondering how he was going to play this off. Acting the fool would do better to suit his needs now, and pretending he had amnesia of sorts may buy him time. (Bluff 21??)]
I'm sorry, I don't know who that is. I've only just... [a pause as he tries to find a way to say this, coming up with nothing but the truth as the most believable thing to say] You see, I've only just woken in your woods past your lawn. [ he points vaguely towards the woods and the tiny cabin therein.] I was able to find clothes in a small cabin just there, and I will return them, but I was wondering if you could help me at all? Perhaps you would be so kind as to tell me where I am?
[how lucky you are, Val'drin]

not prepared for this shit wth ]
I'm sorry. How did you say you wound up in our woods, exactly?
no subject
I um... I don't really know? I just woke up from this really vivid dream about being in the River, and there was a girl there who saved me from this thing [he shudders, recalling the taste of burning copper in the back of his throat] and I have no idea what it was, but thankfully Faith was there. At least, she thought it was a dream. I believed that I was dead, or going to die, or... I don't really know. It must have been a dream, since I'm not dead.
All I remember is she disappeared, and she called out to someone, and then I woke up.
In the woods.

No, I'm afraid I haven't. Is it near to Ancelstierre? [Wisdom check ... 8... Sorry Val'drin, that you get to deal with this.]

Uh. [another look behind him at the woods, his hand coming up to rub the back of his neck.] Yes, perhaps that wouldn't be such a bad idea.
[he will follow Val'drin inside, looking around curiously at the gigantic structure and lavish architecture.]
no subject
Do you remember any fog?
no subject
He follows Val'drin, so caught up in looking at the opulence surrounding him that it takes a moment for him to respond to the question.
Had there been fog? He thinks so, the River had that hazy quality that made everything at the edges look foggy.]
Yes, I think I do. Why do you ask? [ had Rogerrik told this man about Death? Was this man a necromancer as well? He did have red eyes, and grey skin, but not the right kind of grey. This was a natural hue, not the pallor of death. It was still curious that he should mention fog though...]

[ what the fuck did he just say??]
Wait, what?
[that is... so obviously not what he was expecting to hear, he literally loses all train of thought beyond "whatever world you came from."]
no subject
The whims of the gods, perhaps. Maybe something more sinister. Couldn't say myself, but the results are the same.
no subject
He shakes his head to clear that train of thought, focusing once more on the conversation.]
So, wait, you've heard of this before?

He looks around a moment for a place to sit, finds nothing and finally rests his hands on his knees, breathing deeply in through his nose and out through his mouth. He is having a bit of a hard time not feeling like he is going to fly apart into a million confused, angry and scared pieces. With a
really good for himwill save of 18 he is finally able to pull himself together enough to ask the next logical question-]What do I do now?
no subject
val'drin ... awkwardly pats him from a distance for a second until he gets his shit together ] Well. That depends on quite a few things. You might consider it... a clean slate, in certain ways. You get a chance to make a new life for yourself.
no subject
It doesn't sit right with him, it probably never would, but until he can come to terms with the fact that he may never make it back to his home, he needed to figure out his next steps. Finding a place to stay, finding work, getting as much information about this world as he could, those things needed to be his focus for now. Val'drin had said that many of the people who lived in the castle had had the same thing happen to them. Perhaps this was some kind of blessing that had been granted to him, to bring him to this specific place where this was apparently a more common happening.]
You mentioned that others in this castle had been through the same thing, yes? Did that happen to you as well? Is it common for others like myself to... to end up here?

Who are you then?

You're part of a Knighthood? [This was at least something he could perhaps be useful doing?] That's at least something I'm familiar with.
