[ This log covers any non-work related shenanigans the Knights have while staying in New Orleans. Because we haven't finished out the other two logs yet, assume some time has passed since then, in case anyone was injured, so that they've had sufficient time to get better.

As for work stuff, you can assume they've been busy with establishing Finnick's fake rock star cred, and investigating some of the intel they'll uncover in those other logs that we haven't quite gotten to yet. JUST DON'T TALK ABOUT WORK and all will be well.

[ she stays silent about wynn, because truth be told, it had occurred to her. and dumage might not be wrong. she can't rule it out, that's for sure, even if she wants to trust wynn because of everything he's done for them. still. ]

It doesn't matter if we're stopping or granting. What matters is that it could be -- we'll be here as long as we need to be to get the artifact. [ she directs that at myri, half-reassurance, half-reluctant admission. then, with a tense look at dumage. ] Which means we don't need to drag it out any more than it's already dragging.

I'm in no rush to get home. I like America better than England. [Which might be strange, since her certainly sounds British. But London's... rainy. Or something.]

[finnick has a potpourri of feels on this subject (wynn), particularly after the conversation wynn and leadership and power he had with francesca. she'd managed to put most of his suspicions to rest, but this ... was not helping. however, he's also keeping his mouth shut.]

Me too. I think it's kind of great, actually. [the water reminds him of home and british people remind him of the weird faux-british accents people have at the capitol.]

Which one's the superior vacation spot isn't the point! The point is we came here with a job to do.

[ An eyebrow at Dumage, unimpressed. ] May I point out that Wynnefalshond commands a worldwide Organization of knights sworn to his service. I doubt he has any particular need of an artifact if he wanted to be tyrannical.

[ Is that too blunt? Whatever, he doesn't care about disputes over weather, (and he's always going to be inordinately biased towards England.) ]

[rationalizes]

[ Gar sits up primly from her spot between Kat and the King. ] It's precisely as Arthur says. And Buffy as well. If Wynn craved the sort of power you're talking about, he's had many other routes to it over Lord knows how many years. It's safer to have the Talisman under the protection of our treasury, than to have it out here, for men of less moral fiber to discover and abuse.

Seriously. Guy's been around like a million years -- if he wanted to get all conquer-y and all-powerful, chances are there would have been some army-brand conquering going on. And yet ... [ she gestures around. ] Here we are. Secret and what some might even call philanthropic. [ she can reassure decisively and still have reservations herself, ok, it's not hypocritical ... somehow. ]

And we're assuming the Talisman can be used by anyone. Doesn't it seem like someone would have popped up wielding the thing at some point, if it were really that easy?

How many of his Knights would follow him in a power grab? [Spike shrugs. He doesn't think Wynn has evil intentions, but really, none of them know. And Wynn sure has secrets. World domination could very well be one of them.]

[ she's ignoring this wynn paranoia and turning to mark. ] You think there's like a ... wielder requirement or something?

Perhaps now isn't the time to talk about such things so... freely?

It's like you've never tried to remain hidden before. Myri is the queen of flying under the radar and this conversation makes her uncomfortable.]

[ they make a point. buffy glances around, then shrugs, quieting and looking down into her drink. ]

Believe me, [She tosses at Spike with a worried look] There are times when even the unsaid isn't impossible to overhear.

[ Arthur gives Myri a long stare. ]

What's that supposed to mean.

Right. Secret mission. [ She makes a zipping motion across her lips ]

I guess we need to hang out in public more often so I actually get used to that.

[rationalizes]

[Meanwhile, Gar is actually paying attention, and also look at Myri, though with some concern. ]

Is anyone else's brain feeling way violated by this concept? [ she's half-raising a hand. ]

[Myri keeps her gaze on Arthur, not wavering at his stare. Even while looking at him, she addresses both his and Gar's question.]

It is amazing how the very thing that is feared and hated among the ignorant can be used to track you down like an animal.

[She finally pulls her gaze away to the others.]

You'll forgive me for being excessively careful. I've lived while looking over my shoulder for too long to think that anywhere is perfectly safe.

[Spike reaches over and squeezes her shoulder.] We'll not let anyone or anything hurt you, love. Even if they do eavesdrop on our brains. But we can change the subject, if it helps.

And considering the kind of people we might be going up against, she might be on to something.
