[Earlier in the week all DRAKENET devices received a message announcing Francesca's birthday party, courtesy of Sir Bancroft, to be held the evening of July 11. No RSVP needed. It's especially good timing now that many mission groups have returned to the castle, at least for the time being.

As the guests make their way in, it's clear the party's been well stocked with food and drink. There's plenty of room for mingling and some music in the background. Gifts are completely optional, but welcome. Come in and get comfortable.]

[Spike's not much of a hugger. It's possible he hasn't been hugged at all since coming here, though I'm way too lazy to actually look back. So he's surprised, freezing for a moment before he finally reacts and hugs her back, just as happy to see her as she is to see him.]

Miss me? [Because he missed her, but he'd rather act cocky and smug than just outright admit it.]

[witchwoman]

[After a few seconds of good squeezing, she finally steps back, a smile stuck on her face.]

Not at all. [She says, clearly not meaning a word of it.]

[bigbad]

Well, good. [He gives her an affectionate look, remembering what Buffy had said. Myri's been promoted, but don't tell her he knows. He can't help but look a little proud, though. But it's all mixed up in being happy to see her, so maybe she won't notice.] Me neither. Not a bit.

[witchwoman]

[She's not even thinking about her promotion, truthfully. She feels guilty about how Chicago went, and is just glad to see everyone again, so it's the last thing on her mind.]

It's good to be back.

[bigbad]

Yeah, castle sweet castle. [Though New Orleans had felt more like home.] Not much has changed, really. Some new faces, but not much else.

[witchwoman]

[Team Failboat feels like home to Myri, but that's beside the point.]

Some? I feel like I hardly recognize anyone.

[bigbad]

You recognised me well enough. [He nudges her shoulder with his own.] I'm a hell of a lot cooler than most of these old blighters.

[witchwoman]

You're not easy to forget. [She says back with a grin. Spike puts Myri at ease, which is probably humorous to some.]

I've gotten much better with the angry birds.

[bigbad]

[It's a little hilarious, him being a bloodsucking freak and all, but he'd never hurt Myri, and having her around puts him at ease too, in some ways. He grins at her.]

Been practising, have you? I'll have to show you the bigger video games next.

[witchwoman]

I'd like that. Are there many others?

[OH HOW LITTLE SHE KNOWS]

[bigbad]

Loads. About anything you can think of.

[witchwoman]

Really? I doubt we'll have the time to see them all. But we can try.

[bigbad]

[That gets a grin.] I don't think anyone can play them all. Even if they have a lifetime to try. Plus, more keep coming out.

[witchwoman]

Well, I will just have to trust that you will find the best ones to show me. [She laughs lightly for a moment. After shaking her head, she lets out a content sigh and looks around, catching sight of Kat across the room. Myri turns back to Spike.]

I have news. Though I'm... not certain of it just yet.

[bigbad]

Oh? [Is she going to tell him she's promoted now? He'll have to act surprised.] Do share.

[witchwoman]

Sir Kat mentioned making me a full Knight. It was right before we left for Chicago. I'm not certain if she even meant it.

[bigbad]

She did? That's brilliant! Of course she meant it. [He grins at her.] You're amazing, you know.

[witchwoman]

[Myri ducks her head.]

I don't know about that. I'm fairly useless once the fighting starts.

[bigbad]

Like hell you are. Way Buffy tells it, you've saved her life a few times. That's the opposite of useless.

[witchwoman]

[She waves him off.]

That's after the fighting's done.

[bigbad]

And it's far more important. Anyone can hurt, love. But you... you're a healer. That's special.

[witchwoman]

I hate to watch you all fight and know that I can't make it end any sooner, though. Do you know how frustrating it can be?

[bigbad]

I can guess. [He squeezes her shoulder.] But I mean it. You're amazing, love.

[witchwoman]

[She smiles a little.]

Thank you. So are you. I can't believe how well you and Buffy fought that beast, despite how impossible it seemed to hit it.

[bigbad]

Well, about that. [His grin sharpens, and now he looks a bit smug.] You're not the only one getting a promotion.
