Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Spike's invitees are given seats of honor at the front of the ranks of the Dragon's Hide members - the largest sect in the castle, with the most representatives here, and Lan, Wynn, and Dovan wait up at the front of the room for Spike to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. 

Wynn finally gets things rolling, by saying in his loud listen-to-me voice: "Approach and kneel, Sir Spike."

[Sup, all. Spike's gotten rid of all that annoying armour and is now hanging out in his leather jacket again, looking smug and awesome because he's officially a knight and clearly this is the greatest accomplishment ever.]

I'd ask if you feel any different, but you look exactly as smug as you did before Wynn got all formalities guy on you again. [ she extends the hand with the bowl of popcorn anyway to offer him some. ]

[witchwoman]

[Popcorn is for suckers and will have to wait a second because you're getting another incoming Myri hug, Spike (this is her thing now. but just with Spike, apparently. it's pretty ironic, considering.)]

[bigbad]

[Oh, Buffy, he forgives you for everything. He takes a handful of popcorn and starts to eat it, only to drop it in the wake of rampaging Myri hugs. But he's okay with that because he likes her better than popcorn, so he just hugs her back, his grin suddenly a little less smug and a little more genuine.] Thanks, love. I'm glad you were there. [He glances back up at Buffy.] I think I feel even smugger than before. It's not showing?

[slay]

Guess the right levels of pompous are something you're just gonna have to work on. I'm sure you could get lessons from Christos.

[bigbad]

[Spike looks disgusted and grabs more popcorn with the arm not around Myri.] I got rid of one prick for a teacher. I don't need another.

[witchwoman]

[Myri gives Buffy a gentle look to say 'be nice' before slipping away from Spike to reach forward for more popcorn.]

So what does being part of the Dragon's Hide mean for you?

[slay]

[ BUT BEING MEAN IS HOW SHE FLIRTS WITH SPIKE ok yeah good plan she'll be nice. she straightens up. ]

Yeah, like do you get a merit badge for your cool stolen jacket? [ ... well. she tried to be nice. it didn't work out well. ]

[bigbad]

[Ha ha no he's actually amused.] I should thank you for getting me that, shouldn't I? [Since she's the one who knocked out the kid. He looks back at Myri.] More kicking ass and taking names, mostly. Should be fun.

[socialgraces]

[Hey, it is the greatest accomplishment ever, ok. And Francesca finds his smug look endearing, so she'll approach him with a smile and an outstretched hand.] Congrats.

[bigbad]

[He grins as she approaches, taking her hand and pulling her into a quick, enthusiastic hug.] Thanks, love. I'm glad you came.

[socialgraces]

[She's a little surprised by the embrace, but is quick to reciprocate. She pulls back with an even bigger smile.] Wouldn't miss it. And I think the fact that your survived Lan's tutelage grants you further congratulations.

[ironsides]

[ there's a hearty guffaw from behind her... and down quite a few inches, as the signature clanging of metal that accompanies Sir Ironsides' trotting heralds his approaching. ]

I'd tell ya to be glad it was me who heard that little remark, but I'm sure Lan would take it as a compliment!

[bigbad]

[Spike smirks.] Was a close thing, a time or two. He gives a killer final exam.

That's not surprising. And of course it was only meant as a compliment. It did seem a bit cruel to squire you to a paladin in the first place, but you apparently held your own quite well.

[ironsides]

Lan's his own class of paladin, anyway. Not like to be another mentor like him around.

[bigbad]

Lucky for the world. [Spike doesn't hate Lan quite as much as he did at first sight now, but he still is definitely glad he's one of a kind.]

[ mark swaggers up eventually, with a big, goofy smile on his face ] Hey! Congratulations... section buddy. [ he highlights the phrase by jabbing his elbow against Spike's ]

[bigbad]

[Oh god, someone stake him. Is it too late to move to any other section at all?]

...We're not making friendship bracelets.

[ he looks a little wounded at the comment ] Sorry, I just thought we were... I mean, you know...

[bigbad]

[This is what happens when Spike invites Mark to his party. Mark starts thinking it means something.]

Allies. We're allies.

[nosdacariad]

... I see. [ yeah, he seems to totally get it now, shoulders sinking further. ] Well, er, just wanted to say congratulations... ally.

[bigbad]

...thanks. [Oh my god so much awkward.] And for, uh, coming.
