The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Huh. [David looks in that general direction, but doesn't really get a good idea of who she's talking about.] I guess I just ask because... well, that's my name.

Minus the prince part. David Charming- it's the only thing I remembered when I showed up here.

That is an awesome name. [She's serious, that's super cool.] Charming. And you're actually charming. Oh, I'll have to make up a new nickname for Aurelius. Charming, that's great.

...Do you have a noble steed?

[He laughs and shakes his head.] I had a car. It ... didn't make the trip. [Also it was attacked by a demon car. Whoops.]

Poor deceased noble steed. I'm sorry for your loss.

[He holds up his now partially empty glass.] A toast of remembrance for our fallen heroes.

[He's clearly hamming it up, but he did like that car, okay.]

Nos morituri te salutamus. [Yeah, she speaks Latin. 'cause we got a bad ass over here. She raises her glass as well, but don't worry, she'll translate with a smile.] We who are about to die salute you.

[Charming sure... doesn't speak Latin, but he looks pretty impressed by that.]

A little morbid, don't you think?

Oh Charming. Considering we're toasting a dead car, I don't think it's physically possible to delve into morbid territory. I mean. Unless your car was Optimus Prime, in which case it would be like toasting an actual fallen brother.

[uncease]

I guess you're right. [He chuckles to himself.]

It wasn't even that great of a car. I hear they have pretty nice ones here, though.

Yeah? ...wanna check 'em out?

[He thinks it over for all of two seconds.]

Sure! Grab some appetizers for the road?

[He's only half kidding.]

[Wow. Cars and food. This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship and Violet Fiore appreciates the crap out of David Charming.

And she's just gonna grab a plate and load it up. 'cause she is serious about her food.]

[He just laughs and gestures to the door so they can bail on the party and go check out some mother fuckin cars.]

Oh such manners! I feel like a princess! [She goes right out that door, and then pauses.] A lost princess. I don't actually know where the garage is...

[...Neither does Charming, apparently because his navigation check was only 7... He looks left, then right, then left again.]

This way... I think.

[This is going to end terribly.]

[Vi's nav check was 5, so Charming's still one upped her. She squints in the direction he picked and shrugs.]

Let's go then. [And she does, looking around as she walks because where even are they?] I feel like we should have brought breadcrumbs...

[Oh look a fairy tale reference. That will nag at his memory a little, but he just ignores it. There are more important things going on. These two are seriously fucking lost.]

Maybe we should have... I thought it was over here... [There's a door at the end of the hall, so he opens it. Or tries... It's locked and not in a pickable way. Lockbox/keycode kind of locked.]

Where are we? [She tries the door again, like Charming didn't do it right and it's still locked. She frowns, but then abates her wondering and slight annoyance with a snack, chewing thoughtfully.]

I bet we should have turned left somewhere. It's always left.

[uncease]

We can turn left here? [He gives the option, but... oh another Navigation check of ...3... means that it does the opposite of what they want and only leads them further into dark halls that they have not explored yet. After they've headed that way for a few dozen steps he looks around and mutters.]

So much for left.

[graveflowers]

Well. [She huffs out a sigh, putting a hand on her hip. It's dark, but she can see fairly well since she's a super special aasimar snowflake. Still lost as all get out but, whatever, they have options.] We could always find the garage later and explore now...

You know. While we're here.

[uncease]

I guess we don't have much of a choice. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll just stumble across it. He looks down the hallway they were headed down.] Want to just keep going this way?

Why not.

I wonder if this place is secretly a Labyrinth. We should have brought string.

[Which Violet says right as she walks into a door handle. (Dex 8) Apparently seeing in the dark doesn't help if you're not looking where you're going. Ow.] Oof. That's a door.

[uncease]

[He pauses and puts a hand on her arm.]

You okay? [Even klutzy people need a little sympathy. Actually they probably need it more than most.] Maybe that's an interesting door? [He looks at it and gestures.] After you.

Yeah, I'm fine.

[How chivalrous. She gives the handle a little jiggle, but it's locked. Just a normal lock though, not the magic key car lock.]

Hold this, please. [She passes off her plate of rapidly dwindling snacks without really waiting for David to protest, and crouches down in front of the door, tugging a bobby pin out of her hair, flinging it back from her face. With some finagling and some really rude sounding Latin swear words, she straightens out the bobby pin and puts the flat side into the lock. She looks up and flashes David a grin before she sets to work.] I learned how to do this when I was fourteen.

[Charming will just stand there with the plate and watch her work. His eyebrows slowly creep up as she crouches down to pick the lock.]
