I take it you were born in this world?

You certainly have the manner of a native. May I ask how old you were when you fell through?

25. It was um... three weeks before the whole bog monster meets train extravaganza. Maybe two and a half, I dunno, I wasn't keeping a tally on the wall, I'm not that melodramatic.

[ understanding clicks in his eyes ] You're not from Faerun.

Nope. [She shrugs a little because it seems to not be helpful, her not being from there.] Sorry.

I'm still growing used to that. I've lived a very long time in this world without meeting anyone who hailed from somewhere... similar to Earth, but different.

[graveflowers]

Yeah? How long? Or is that, like, rude to ask, since I basically just asked how old you are in slightly unclear terms that I just cleared right up.

[ apparently it ain't no thang ] Over a hundred and fifty years now.

Is that like... 30 in dog years?

[luthir]

[ smirk ] Something like that.

So's that 150 here specifically or in the grand scheme of things too? Just curious, I've never met an octogenarian... squared? No, that's way too much. Double octogenarian?

[She shakes her head like she's given up. Fuck math.] Lookin' good on it, dude.

[ he seems unused to personal flattery, and he steps beyond her a couple feet as if to give himself a moment to figure out what to say to that. he settles on simply a response to her question. ] 150 years since I came through the Veil. To be quite honest, I don't know how many years I'd lived before that, but I was very young. Perhaps 50, 60 years old.

[50 or 60 is very young? In comparison she's a wee little baby. That's super.]

Do you miss it?

[luthir]

I ... suppose that's a bit difficult to say. I imagine most beings sometimes wish to return to the freedom of childhood, to that sense of home. I don't think it's much different for me than for those of this world. I can't return to it: but neither can many people here, who have lost their family, or their home.

I guess, that's probably universal. [Her hands go into her pockets. She's never going to live to be past 200 so she won't have that much time to dwell on what she's lost. She kind of feels like she gets the better deal in this scenario.] So maybe it's a kindness, losing parts of your memory, you can't miss what you don't know you have.

[luthir]

I've always held to that opinion, in many ways. I lost all memories of my family, most of my place in the other world.

[ a pause ] Although I remember the forests. [ there's definite wistfulness there. totally wisting. ]

Hippie treehugger. [She says it like a compliment, as only she can. She kicks at the grass and a tiny, leafy sprout punches through the grass.]

It's not a forest, but... it's a start.

[luthir]

The gardens are beautiful here, in the summer, certainly, but there was something about the forests of Faerun. A tranquility I've yet to find anywhere here, and yet a life... [ this is the most emoting he has ever done in this game. he almost looks happy. or nostalgic. or kind of sad. ok so his emoting is still hard to read but it's DEFINITELY THERE ]

Sounds like my mom's garden, ironically in the Underworld.

[She's just basically /chinhands without physically doing that.] What's it like there? Is it just all forests, or are there cities? Are there cities in the trees? If there aren't you can lie to me, because that is just the coolest. I want to live in a tree. A living house. Like Penelope and Odysseus's bed.

Different types of tel-quessir live in different ways, just as any race, but the elves of the wood certainly call the trees home. Great open air halls both upon the ground and high above it and the eladrin took all of that a step further, if the stories are true, blending nature seamlessly into their constructions.

Actual tree houses. [WOW, someone is super jealous that place exists and she is not in it, her expression could not be more dejected. And slightly confused, she's gonna need to take notes to remember this.]

Unfortuntely, it's been rather difficult for them to reproduce our homelands in this heavily civilized world, but it is not without its wilderness realms.

They're just tiny and full of litter.
