after-party ♔ april

♬ Jeux d'eau - Ravel
WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missionsooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || April 1st, 2012, 6:00PM
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

[Oh the joys of having a homeless man played by Samuel L. Jackson as your tour guide when transitioning from medieval times into the modern era.]

Pretty sure that's universal.

Did you want to take a closer look?

... For such a big operation, this looks a little... primitive.

It could be that they rely primarily on magic to heal their wounded.

[Spirit Healer, Cleric--it was just one more thing he'd have to get used to.]
I suppose that means you aren't a magic user.

[Excuse him, he'll just be prying into your life now. But it was something she seemed able to recall, and she didn't strike him as the type to share anything she'd prefer not to.]

[Because that shit got old pretty quick ngl.]
Would someone from your world be capable of doing the same here?
[Yes, he means you, gurl.]

[He seemed a little unsure of that word, since it was somewhat new to him. But he was fairly certain he had used it right in this particular instance.]
I'm not used to anyone being so open about their gifts outside of those they trust, and desperate situations. Are mages very common where you come from?

Though on the other hand, it could be that I'm experiencing something similar to what you have been--which would be bad, and is why I prefer to assume it's the former scenario.

Hard to say. It's almost like instinct. It helps if I concentrate, but there's always this ... something gnawing at the back of my mind.
