The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Sneaking in late, due in no small part to his abysmal recital of the oath, and feeling quite embarrassed, Phineas sets to gussying himself up. A dash of this, a slightly darker overcoat, a hint of that, a well-selected tie, and a hint of supernatural adjustment gives him a thankfully and mercifully good disguise bonus of 26. [David actually felt more comfortable in the armor, but ... whatever.

Still he doesn't look half bad (disguise check: 16) for a guy who less than a month ago looked like a full blown Viking. He still doesn't even really know what he's doing here which is why he's hugging the wall, watching the people as they mill about the room, and silently hoping that they decide to talk to someone else.

However, given that the party was for him that seems unlikely.

Regardless, he's there, looming in the background like a creeper.

[Looming. Yep, that seems about right. Luckily, Vi somehow managed to dress up well this time and she's even rocking heels -- magic is afoot tonight, let's be frank about this. Those heels are the only reason she isn't completely dwarfed by him when she walks over. At least height wise, he could probably still snap her in half with his baby toe.

And I say "walks over" but the reality is oh hey, she just tripped right there. (Dex 7) Unless she's in battle, walking across flat surfaces is just not a good fit. Sorry, she'll just be using David's rippling pectorals to straighten herself out.]

[Myri has learned a lot about modern clothing during her time as pretending to be arm candy for a rising music star (and her disguise check of 18 doesn't hurt). She remembers how daunting her own squiring party was and is careful to greet each of the new members with a warm and inviting smile.]

[ belle watches him for a moment from a place also near the wall, before boldly scooting down and stating: ] I was going to offer you congratulations, but you don't seem all that happy about it. [ she grants him a teasing smirk ]

[With his disguise check of 14, Hook's not looking too shabby himself. Though he's... wearing the same ensemble of black leather he always wears. It just looks good on him.]

[How the hell he managed to pull it off was anyone's guess, but apparently somewhere between the dressing room and actually making his appearance at the party proper someone told him to check himself before he wrecked himself (read: someone probably stopped him and had to walk his ass back to said dressing room where they helped re-dress himself in a suit that actually fit properly--then did him the favor of tying his tie for him or something idek) because he is looking super fly when he crawls back out from the woodwork (disguise/charisma check: 15).

Luckily, the hard part was over. This was the sort of thing that was easy for him--or, at least he could make himself appear entirely at ease among a large crowd, even when this foreign clothing was a lot more ... breezy than what he was normally used to.]

[Faye likes when a new squiring brings attractive men to the table. Something about a man who can put himself together just leads her to believe they might have something worth offering her (even if it's what's in their pants). She has no problem looking good (disguise 20) but she also looks incredibly bored.

By the time she runs into him, she can't even pretend to be very impressed, though she does show the smallest sign of being intrigued.]

[ oh hey, you both just signed your life away in front of a crowd, so apparently you have that much in common today. jaina casts him a sidelong look when he moves past the table where she's got her heels up on the chair next to her. she's swirling a drink in one hand. ] I can't be the only one who didn't expect becoming a Knight to involve so much schmoozing.

[ fancy parties really aren't her style. it doesn't mean she doesn't know how to get gussied up if it's required, and as a result she's looking incredibly well put together with a 15, wearing a strapless magenta number with her hair bound in a simple, classy up-do.

she's not playing the social butterfly however, opting instead to fix herself up with a few drinks and keep a seat warm, as she monitors the room. ]

[What, is magenta pink red the color of the night? It seems to be popular. Lila is annoyed by this. She's also wearing a magenta dress, recycling her heels from last time. Though, to be fair, her outfit is practically the same as last time. Trendsetter, right here.

Anyway, she's flitting around, trying to find the most opportune time to accost Faye and finish up their bet -- that bracelet is so Lila's -- when she decides to take a perch next to the other girl looking pretty in pink.

[After a few rounds through the room, David needs to take a breather, but he's feeling pretty good about his goal of getting to know his fellow Knights, so he finds a table that has a new face at it. He's excessively gentlemanly, though, so instead of just sitting, he stands with one hand on the empty chair beside Jaina and smiles.]

[Faye chose poorly and her shoes are causing her feet to feel like murder. Or rather, she wants to murder due to the pain they are causing her. She collapses in an empty chair and kicks off the torture devices. It's only then that she realizes someone else is even sitting here. Whoops.]

[ buffy approaches her from behind. she reaches out to touch her shoulder lightly. she'd been at the squiring, and had paid attention to which one was meant to be her squire. that didn't mean she had any idea what she was in for, or how to approach this. ]

[David finally figured out how to put himself together. Surprise! With a natural 20 disguise check, he is lookin fly as hell. He's even working the floor this time instead of hanging back like his last few squiring parties.

He turns to whoever is closest and smiles, nodding his head slightly in greeting.]

[Kenzi may well be late to her own squiring party but excuse me? This level of fabulous takes time and the die sure do know Kenzi, giving her a Nat 20 Disguise check. Also... It took like a really long time for her to lace that up alright.

A waiter goes by with a tray of drinks, Kenzi signalling them with a big wave, taking a flute of champagne as they approach.]

Woah woah woah where do you think you're going with those?! This one's for now and this one... [Taking another.] Is so my other hand isn't lonely. [The waiter just stares and starts to back away.] Oh hey! Don't go far. I'm gonna need refills! [Calling out to their retreating figure.]

[ as he walks away, tia is revealed behind where he was standing, watching her with some amusement ] You might want to slow down... if you actually want to remember your big night.

[Phineas attempts to show up extra fashionably late. Hopefully most of the attendees will be too drunk to recall his terrible blundering though of the oath. Speaking of drunk... He scans the room looking for some hard liquor, and an out-of-the-way seat to secure for himself.]

[Lila can play nice, when it suits her. It just so happens that it suits her at this exact moment, which also happens to be exactly one month from the previous squiring party -- her own. She even, facetiously, waits until after the time of the evening the bet too place before swanning over to the brunette with a glass of champagne.

Of course, she doesn't have her gloves on so her version of playing nice might need a little work. She holds out one of the glasses and smiles sweetly, taking a sip of her own before speaking.]

Ye of little faith. A month gone and, lo and behold, I'm still here.

[Faye doesn't hate Lila... yet. On a scale of one to Rose, the girl is fairly tolerable. Still, once the words are out of the girl's mouth, she can only assume that this is going to be annoying. She remembers the bet, of course, and purposely left that piece of jewelry at home because she had seen the girl around the castle a few times lately. However, she puts on a confused/irritated face which basically translates to 'what do you want, you peasant?']

What are you going on about? [Bluff 18 because there is no way she wants you to think she's even thought about you after that little run in. She clearly has better things to do.]
