It's been a long journey at sea, as the Knights, Zatanna, and her father followed the enchanted compass' guidance from Europe, across the Atlantic Ocean. Risa stands on the bow of the boat, a shawl wrapped around herself as she stares out into the gathering gloom, frowning.

"The Devil's Triangle," she announces, out of nowhere. "That's our destination, isn't it."

[ meanwhile, charming's girlfriend sees him turning to go and rushes after him, tone pleading. ] Wait! I don't even know your name.

[David manages to get his hands up in time to block the light (Fortitude Save: 21), keeping himself from being temporarily dazed again, but being that magic continues to elude him he can't quite figure out where it came from (wisdom check: 10).

What he does see is Zatanna and her mother's body and leaving her here, even if it just means a burial at sea when they're back on the boat, doesn't feel right. So he turns back from the edge of the dais, stooping to pick up Sindella fireman style (strength check: 13), which wasn't exactly easy but he manages, before handing his sword off to Zatanna.]

Can you use this if you need to?

[Granted it's a giant broadsword, but sometimes the anger/grief combo can work in a person's favor. Plus, he knows not to assume anything about people's abilities ever.]

I don't need a weapon. [ magic crackles in the palm of her other hand, as if to illustrate that she is one. still, she looks grateful for david's actions, and will hold onto the sword to free his hands up to carry her mother. ]

[Fort save of 19 means Hook is surprisingly fine as he hurries after the others. Surprisingly because he has not exactly had the smoothest mission and really, being blinded would have been just his luck. He spares a look at Sindella's body, mostly thinking that bringing along a dead woman isn't exactly traveling light, but then again, he doesn't know if he'd be able to do differently if it was someone he loved.]

[ Luckily Francesca already has protection in place against bright light, so she's unintentionally prepared for this blast (fort save 21). She turns to Risa, nodding her thanks, before taking a quick sweep of the happenings around her. ] What about all these people? I assume there's more Magi lurking about. And that woman, [ She motions to Charming's girlfriend. ] I don't think she'll be able to fend them all off, but she might have some idea how to stop them. Should we take her with us?

[uncurse]

[ fort save 14 means emma almost avoids getting blinded, but she glances back at the wrong moment and doesn't throw an arm over her face in time. she grimaces, glancing down and away, and finds herself disoriented.

still, she answers francesca's question. ]

And what, hold her hostage? You did see her freaking out and wanting to murder us five minutes ago, right?

[Charming turns back as the woman comes running back to him and GDI WOMAN- yeah someone didn't make the fort save (fort 12). He winces and blinks. He's not able to focus but he can hear the general direction of the exit so he just starts off that way.]

Come on- we gotta get out of here! [And... well, since he can't see, he may have looked right at the magi when he said it. Now let's just hope he doesn't run into a wall on his way out...]

[He nudges Charming with his shoulder as he passes.]

You should give her the... Ringing thing address. [Whatever that's called.]

[Gold got a 21.... Apparently cool guys do look at explosions (and bright lights) or something.

Anyway, since Charming is being fickle with his new lady love, Gold gestures to her like YES, OF COURSE HE MEANT YOU, LET'S GO. That done, he turns to Emma as he begins heading towards the exit at his own goddamn pace because you fuckers suck.]

The situation has changed, Ms. Swan. I'll explain everything later.

[ meanwhile, there's a real flicker of hope on her expression as she misinterprets charming's words with a little help from gold, and she moves after them as they make their way through the crowd towards the gates of the city. ] We have to go before--

[ and then there's the sound like various thunderclaps echoing around the city, and suddenly the towers in the distance begin collapsing in on themselves. ] The wards! Without the jewel protecting them, the Sentinel City won't stand. [ and all these innocent people start freaking out, joining them in a confusing massive wave towards the gates.

but then a terribly loud male voice rends the sky, shaking the buildings around them in its powerful rage. someone sound pissed, gurl.

"AMAAAARA!" ]

[David finds himself being pushed along with the crowd, doing his best to hold onto Sindella and not get trampled at the same time. When the voice echoes over their heads, he stiffens, having heard something similar to it once before.]

That can't be good.

[ ok, everyone make escape artist checks to move through this crowd! francesca got a 31 and she's actually trying to move against the crowd - and succeeding - making her way back to Amara/Gold/Charming/Emma. ] Amara! You need to come with us, and you need to help us save all these people. [ diplomacy check 46 ] Please. They have people they love waiting for them back home. [ don't mind her just exploiting everything sacred over here. ] There has to be something we can do.

[ escape artist 20 total. emma navigates the crowd easily, but she looks flummoxed at the chaos around them. ]

How are we gonna get all of these people out of here safely before it collapses? Even with magic, is that even possible?

[Poor blind Charming is not doing so well back here, guys. With a crit fail on his escape artist check, he is just slowly being trampled by this crowd.]

[ GDI Charming. Well, Francesca thought she had immeasurable patience, but all this chaos is proving that to be quite the misconception. So she abruptly turns on heel, mid-spiel, and pushes her way back to Charming. She reaches down for his hand, offering him a 19 strength check to help him to his feet. And she doesn't let go of his hand, attempting to bring him with her through the crowd (so make a wis check to follow a blind lead and another escape artist check??) and meeting back up with the others. ]

[With Francesca's help, Charming manages to get back up and back through the crowd (wis 15, escape artist 18).]

[Despite all of this, David still navigates the crowd pretty easily (escape artist: 17), keeping close to Zatanna as they head towards the the gate. Occasionally he glances back to be sure that the rest of the group is following and not lost in the shuffle.]

[Unfortunately, Hook's having a bit of trouble getting through as well (escape artist 9).] Swan!

[Sorry, Emma, you're everyone's default go-to girl for this.]

[ francesca apparently got through to her, because amara looks around wildly at the chaos, and then up at the sky as if she expects someone or something to appear at any moment, and then seems to steel herself to make a decision.

bitch don't need no staff.

she raises both her hands, her sleeves falling down around her elbows, and starts chanting in some ancient language that sounds fittingly ominous and intense... and then just as one of the towers capsizes close to them and begins to fall directly onto the mass of people below...

the crazy scene around them vanishes. and the entire group of them finds themselves transported to a peaceful, remote beach somewhere, safe and sound, although many of the people are still screaming or babbling before it sinks in where they are. ]

[BLESS YOU, AMARA. Because Gold got a two on his escape artist check and he was really struggling there for awhile. He looks around the beach and the brushes himself off, like that was not a HORRIBLE SITUATION THEY WERE ALL JUST IN.]

Well, I imagine that could have gone a great deal better, but no sense in harping on that. [He approaches Amara.] Thank you, dear. We appreciate your assistance.

[ Francesca gingerly detracts her hand from Charming's and may or may not lightly push him towards Amara in the process. Look, she really wants to talk to him anyway. ] Yes, thank you. You saved... everyone. [She really is astonished, too. She's actually never seen anything like that before.]

[ to be honest, she doesn't look too thrilled about it. in fact, she looks ready to almost cry, but bravely keeping it at bay. her eyes seek out charming and she gets a nat 20 to notice francesca letting go of his hand filing that away just in case. ]

My people... they'll be furious. [ and it's clear just what she knows that means for her, but she shakes it off to ask ] Are you alright?

[Charming still has no clue what is going on. In fact, the chaos from back there has made him understand less (wis 9). So Amara's question brings on a confused look.]

Huh? Me? Yeah, I'm fine. [And then he's going to start looking around for his daughter (but boy does no one else really know about that).] Has anyone seen Emma?

[And he's absently wanders off to go look for her.]

emma's off to the side of the beach, because she was heading back in hook's direction to help him when the group got transported. she stops short when she reaches him, though, and looks alarmed by the sudden scenery shift. she pivots on her heel, staring at the blue skies and trying to sort out where the hell they are.

that's some magic she'll never get used to.

she hears charming, and reaches a hand up. ]

[ she shouts it over the crowd, then pats hook on the arm to encourage him to follow her. she keeps her hand on his arm to guide him through the crowd as she, once again, easily navigates it (escape artist 18). when she gets to charming, she drops hook's arms and begins to look her father over, relief evident. ]

I'm okay. Are you - ? [ she raises her hands to touch his arms just above his elbows, sizing him up for damages, then glances around at the rest of the group. ] Where are we?
