Sure. I suppose since people, humans at least, can survive months without food, it could be a while. But it's like a week without water. If you're going to kill someone slowly and in pain with very little effort, apathy isn't a bad choice.

There are people that can manipulate emotion. [She says people the way some say vermin. She can't help it, Daneca being nice and sweet doesn't make up for the fact that Cassel's mom was more of a raging sociopath than Lila herself. Some things will never be forgiven and that is up there in the top five.]

Apathy is an emotion.

Yes. Anything emotion based, to the point where they could probably ruin your favorite comfort food. It doesn't last forever, but if its used as conditional or behavioral therapy, the effects can last a while, I would think.

It's called curse work, at least now it is. It used to be better thought of. Until people started realizing they should be scared. Jonestown didn't exactly make anyone feel better about it.

And if you are a known worker, you can ask for help from one of the families. It's still a witch hunt but it doesn't end like Salem anymore.

And it's not this world, so it's not an issue here.
