The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Oh, so drool, sir. [She snorts, yeah she's not so divine, and rolls her eyes just a bit. But she is smiling so her put upon act is just that.] You shouldn't sneak up on people like that. What if I carried a knife in my bra, huh? Or pepper spray.

[ for the briefest second in the world, his eyes flash down to her chest as if to figure out how she'd hide anything in there. the beat before he replies is the only clue that he juuuust might be a little flustered by her comment. ]

... I should hope you don't expect to use either on a regular basis here in the castle. At least not on your fellow Knights.

Yeah, pepper spray would probably backfire anyway. ...well, backfire again. [She pouts, actually, for a second before her expression clears. The Hot Sauce Incident of 2013 is not her finest moment -- even if she made two friends out of it. Two friends and a flywacket!]

Anyway, my lack of weapons aside. I am enjoying myself now, yes.

I was making Spike hot sauce and um, sorta, got pepper residue in my eyes.

[Wow she is blushing so hard.] Myri healed me.

I didn't realize you enjoy cooking.

Well, it never came up. And he was drinking it from the bottle and that's gross, so I had to enlighten him.

I suppose there's no accounting for taste. Or ignorance - whichever it was. [ smirk ] I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

99% sure it was ignorance in this case. Do you like it? Cooking, I mean, not hot sauce. Although... you can answer that too.

I can't say I have any natural aptitude for it. As far as spicy foods go... I'll eat them when occasion calls for it in order to not offend a host. But the elven palate is more predisposed towards natural tastes.

Well you'll have to remind me never to make you anything spicy then.

Yeah, if you want. [She tugs on her dress a little nervously -- her green dreen, her green dress with flowers because nature and you know who likes nature? Elves. Ain't no shame in her game.]

Oh? [ he tilts his head slightly, watching her with interest ] Very well.

My present, and thank you, again, you said that you used it where you came from, but where did you find it here?

Did you think people were the only things that came through the Veil?

Well I don't anymore.

Do you... [ his eyes trace towards the dance floor and he hesitates, before looking back at her. after a beat, he adds: ] have any idea yet about what sect you might choose when the time comes?

[Oh that.. but he... her expression crumbles for a second before she shakes her head.]

I. I thought it would be the Hide, for obviously reasons, but. [Her shoulders lift in a shrug.] Haven't actually done that much fighting recently and I kind of really liked what we did for the dryads. So. I don't know.

[luthir]

[ he nods, somewhat absently, forehead creasing the tiniest bit ] You were incredibly impressive. Any section would be fortunate to have you. [ another beat and then he seems to steel himself for something ] That was beside the point.

[ and he fixes her with a rather warm gaze (charisma roll 19, yeah boy) ] I meant to ask if you dance.

Uh-huh.

[If you think she is capable of coherent thought right now then you are sadly mistaken. Well maybe one coherent thought.]

Are you asking me to dance or just inquiring generally?

I imagine that might depend on what your answer would be.
