The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

And that's the most important thing, isn't it? Life's too short to sulk about. [Someone is trying to convince themselves of this more than her.] And a little fun never hurt anyone.

Exactly. I've found that as long as you're enjoying yourself, everything else will fall into place.

We've found a bit of the same things, it seems. [He muses with a little smile.]

Aye. So what about the set up here? Have your eye on any of the sects in particular?

[She shrugs as she glances around.]

I'm still feeling things out. I've never really been in need of a group.

[bluffcheck]

Depending on the group, it's not so bad. [He's a pirate. He likes crews. He just... wants one he knows he can trust.] You, for example, would probably make fantastic company out on a mission.

I'd think the same of you. The important thing is to have fun, after all.

Absolutely. [A moment more to think it over.] So since we've established that we have so much in common, I think you might have earned the chance to know my secret. Interested?

I always love a good secret.

[and she is clearly very pleased with herself because of it.]

[He offers an arm.]

Don't suppose you'd mind driving us into town, then?

[Because someone still doesn't really get cars...]

[But Felicity happens to love them, so they're good to go there.]

I would love to.

[she takes his arm with a smile.]

[And off they go to the garage! Make a drive check for me, lovely, and we'll see if Felicity is a good or bad girl behind the wheel :P

[Felicity is sharper than average tonight (drive check: 17), so while she isn't on top of her usual top notch game, she's still pretty smooth. She pulls out of the garage, and glances over with a nod.]

[His navigate check of 12 will cause them to take the scenic route but Felicity's superb driving skills will just make it a better ride to enjoy. As they drive their way into town, Thoster gives her a lifted eyebrow glance.]

You're quite good at this. Ever handle another vessel? [Well that sounded wrong. Who knows how he meant it though....]

[She raises her eyebrows a bit at that, before shrugging.]

Motorcycles, sometimes. Cars are usually quieter though.

I'm talking bigger, lass. You're in for a treat.

Bigger?

[her eyebrows go up as she glances to him, before the look settles into a bit of a smirk.]

I always did think bigger was better.

[bluffcheck]

Ah, I knew you were a smart one. [he gestures up ahead] Up ahead on the right. You can stop somewhere along that road.

[She does as she's told, sliding into an open spot on the side of the road.]

Absolutely. You don't mind a quick stroll with me, do you? I promise the surprise will be worth it. [Or he thinks so, at least.]

[She shakes her head.]

I love to walk.

[London is lovely this time in the evening, and Thoster's spent too long away from his lovely ship. So he takes the quickest path and has a slight spring in his step as he leads them down the streets to the docks. When it starts to come into view, he turns to her and grins.]

Hope you have your sea legs, lass.

Sea legs?

[no one said anything about a boat. Not normally her thing unless it's a cruise of some kind, but hey. She did say she wanted to see it.]
