The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Jade eyes sparkled mischeiviously, finger tapping against her lips as she seemed to contemplate answering.]

You showed me half a line of a stolen soliloquy I memorized in the seventh grade. [Her chin lifts slightly in an exaggerated study of him.] But I suppose I can oblige, for solidarity.

[Tugging her bottom lip between her teeth, she smiles playfully, letting the glossy white sheen of a fang rest against red lips before it scrapes between her teeth and her fangs disappear back behind her close lipped smile.] A little experience.

[ ho damn ] No shit. [ he's just gon stare now ] That's... pretty rad actually.

[She shrugs, blushing prettily. This, friends, is why we don't give Lissa champagne, she does silly things like telling people she's a vampire.]

I'm glad you... like it?

So, dispel some wacky vampire mythos for me. What's not so true?

Well, I can walk around in daylight. I get sunburns easily, though. [She touches the small silver cross necklace just about the neck of her dress.] I am not allergic to God, I go to church regularly. I don't actually wear a cape, sadly.

And the whole... dietary thing?

[She blushes slightly.] Like the stories, with far less violence though. It's... voluntary.

And you get a lot of... volunteers?

[lastdragomir]

Yes, actually. We had volunteers come to the school, but here I just use the stock in the fridge. [Even with spirit and compulsion, Lissa finds it difficult to approach people to ask them to be feeders, that's a strange thing. But that doesn't stop her from trying to defend it.] We were very careful with them, they were well taken care of. And they enjoyed it.

I guess some people are, uh, into that kinda thing...

No, no it's not like that. [She assumes he means it like some kind of Rhianna S&M thing.] It doesn't hurt, it... This is really awkward.

Yeah, my ace conversationalist skills are showing.

It's probably both of us, in fairness. [She looks around.] Champagne would help.

Well, it might help us stop noticing me tripping all over my tongue, maybe not stop the actual trippage.

It's still gone better than other conversations I've had tonight.

Or me. I am the common denominator. [But oh look there! She snags two glasses of champagne and holds one out. Conversation can only go up from here, right?] Maybe I'll just stick to the weather.

[ he takes one and smirks ] You realize we live in England, right? Never exactly an uplifting subject.

Maybe I like near constant overcast and morning drizzle, hmm?
