[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of this month.  Because not everyone is into parties, ok.

[If you were to wander out of the castle at night, you might hear a sound not completely common for the castle ground. Thoster's got a song in his heart and he feels like sharing it with the whole world, damnit.

As he sings, he gets pretty into it and doesn't seem to notice if anyone approaches.

Oh and if anyone is curious- he even sings the Mother's part in a decent falsetto. (Perform 19)]

[How convenient, the other castle mariner just so happens to be looking for Thoster. He leans against a tree and crosses his arm with a smirk, waiting for Thoster to finish.]

[bluffcheck]

[About halfway through, he turns and spots the other man watching him, a word catching in his throat as he lets out a laugh.]

Don't suppose you'd join me for a verse?

[unhand]

[He shakes his head, flashing a grin.]

Wouldn't want to show you up.

[bluffcheck]

[He finds that HILARIOUS because no.]

Too kind, friend. Good to see you out and about more now since you've been back. Sounded like your first mission was quite the adventure.

[unhand]

Got the rundown, then? [He nods.] Magic and ocean battles and all that. Feels like home.

Had to have someone keep and eye on you since I wasn't around. The lovely Francesca and I had a chat about the mission's event. I'm sorry to have missed it. It seemed- as you said, a bit like home.

But you seem to be adjusting to the life back here again.

[unhand]

Suppose I am, aye. Need to fix my ship soon. [Which has NOT been going well. :| ] Rather not be stuck here. [It's true, he can go elsewhere, but without his ship, it's hardly the same.]

[bluffcheck]

You know... if you need a hand, you only have to ask.

Somehow, I'd wager that's a bit beyond your ability to grant me.

Afraid bards aren't known for that kind of magic. Alas, I suppose I can only offer the two I have. [A beat] I can help, friend. Worked on my own ship enough. I would hope I'd be able to help you piece yours back together.

[unhand]

Suppose I ought to find a better cleric, then. [He shrugs, crossing his arms.] I've been in at least two worlds filled with enough magic to regrow a bit more than just a simple hand, and yet I've never had it fixed. I wonder why.

[Idle musings. He shakes it off and turns towards Thoster.]

I'd appreciate any help you can offer. The going's been far too slow for my liking.

I don't know. It suits you. [He shrugs] But if you change your mind, I'm sure Wynn wouldn't bat an eye to spending a bit of money to get all hands on deck.

[He really needs to stop with these jokes.]

Well, no time like the present, is there? Show me where she's docked and we'll take a look at the damage. Might be too late to do much work tonight, but I can at least get a look at her.

[ironsides]

[ the little dwarf is so pleased to hear a familiar sounding tune that he makes his way over cheerfully when he sights the source of the voice. ] Now there's a sound we don't have near enough of in these halls!

[bluffcheck]

[Thoster grins, because of course he is happy to have happened upon someone who appreciates his music.]

Well, I'd be happy to remedy that- with a bit of help, of course.

[ironsides]

I hope you aren't askin' me to play anything. Never was much good with an instrument wasn't made of steel.

[bluffcheck]

Asking only if you're offering. But if you're not the sort for it, there's always room for loud enthusiasm. A musician is only as good as the audience he's playing for, after all. And as much as I love our brothers and sisters in arms, not many of them seem like they'd be all that interested in it.

But maybe I'm wrong.

Enthusiasm I can always bring to the fold! D'you know any rousing battle hymns?

Wouldn't be much of a bard if I didn't. Let's see... [He starts to hum, then launches into a song from home. It's about victory and honor and the girls waiting for the men back home. If this was a real fight, he would push his magic into it and inspire the shit out of some courage, but that doesn't seem necessary when he's just hanging out with Dovan. Still, he rocks this one more than the last, because when he knows he has an audience, he puts on a show (perform nat 20).]

[ although he doesn't know the tune, dovan picks it up soon and hums along as he slaps his leg and merrily claps along to the beat. it draws a small crowd of onlookers, young knights wandering by, and when he finishes, they clap loudly and cheer, dovan loudest of all ]

[By the end of it, Thoster is laughing nearly as much as he's singing. He's a performer through and through, though- so he doesn't let the humor hurt his performance. In fact, it only helps by making his gestures grander and his voice boom louder. As he finishes and the applause sets in, he gives a deep bow before clapping a hand to Dovan's shoulder.]

You deliver on your promise well, friend! Enthusiasm in droves!

Isn't every day a dwarf sees such a fine performance.

[bluffcheck]

Why? Too many people in the way, usually?

[Thoster, you probably shouldn't make short jokes at the expense of the guy who just complimented you?]

[ironsides]

[ actually? he just... bursts out laughing. a ton. uproariously. ] Well, now, he got me there!

[Thoster officially has a new best friend.]

I'm parched. What do you say I let you buy me a drink?
