[ the pendergast manor is a sprawling sight, impressive even to those who live in the world's most ridiculously sized castle. the whole place has a sort of country club air, and white gloved butlers escort the little troupe of knights through the halls, past expensive paintings and all the other old money trappings. ]

Well, I can't just leave them there, can I? [He backs up and glances down the hall.] I'll be quick. You won't even know I'm gone. And the others will be here soon, I'm sure of it.

[thesleeper]

[Phineas blinks, curses his poor choice in magics for the day, and conjures his bird - which can't actually fight, but maybe will scare this creep.]

Uh... BIRD! [And the white dove appears in his hand and dives toward the man.]

[ the vampire hisses in nothing but mild annoyance, reaching up to bat at the bird (atk 24...), which at least distracts him from sticking his fangs in lissa for a moment... ]

[ she crit failed trying to get out of his grasp while he's distracted. useless, useless vampire girl. but she manages to bite out, no pun intended: ] Phineas, go get the others!

[thesleeper]

[Clearly torn, Phineas swallows, and chokes out,] Sure, love... [And he uses his magic to go invisible... (Two can play that way Mr. Vampire!) Then sends his bird to find the others, and moves to circle around the Vampire. No way he could leave her alone, but maybe that will be enough to trick this creep.]

[Sydney waits impatiently while Solace is on the phone, watching him with wide somewhat nervous eyes.]

[sirsolace]

[ he hangs up, eyes narrowed as he looks around, and then starts off in the direction of thoster and faith. ] Vampire.

Just hurry. And don't get bit. [ she looks a little green around the gills at the idea, but shoves thoster off. as he makes his way down the hall, he runs smack into phineas' frantically flying dove coming his way. ]

[As Thoster spits out of some feathers (since I'm imagining it colliding with his face, tbh), he looks really confused.]

Who let you in here? [BUT THAT IS NOT IMPORTANT. He is on a mission and is continuing on to try to find Lissa, moving as fast as he can to do so.]

[thesleeper]

[Phineas can see through the Dove's eyes... so... Does that mean they just, like... Never mind - Either way; the dove will swing about, and tap him on the head as it flies past, and attempt to direct all of them to Lissa and the vampire.]

[bluffcheck]

[This is something they will NEVER SPEAK OF. Ahem. But he does notice the bird acting strange, but hell if he knows why (wis 6). He's a bit distracted by the idea of trying to find Lissa. Oops.]

Get off! [He takes a half hearted swing at the bird with the back of his hand (attack 8)]

[ angry at lissa's shout and phineas' sudden invisibility, the vampire is going to use that crit failed grapple check of hers to slam her against the wall, rendering her unconscious but stable (since emma cannot tag). he whirls around and then turns into gas himself, following phineas down the hall. ]

"I can smell you, fool."

[Sydney's eyes widen in fear, though she manages not to...run the other way (will save 11). Because vampires. Of course. After a slight hesitation, she follows after Solace down the hallway.]

[thesleeper]

[Enraged at seeing Lissa hurt;] Smell this, creep! [And he'll charge at him and punch, for a total Atk of 20... But he's not trained in unarmed... and I think vampires/undead are immune to subdual damage... so, it's mostly just for show.]

[moonheart]

[ solace and sydney make it to faith and the body and she launches into an explanation: ] Thoster went to go try to find the thing on his own. I have no idea if Phineas and Sydney are out there with it.

[ solace leans down to examine it, frowning.

MEANWHILE phineas' blow strikes... air, and the vampire slams him from behind, manifesting to loom over him (atk 27, dmg 9).

"Where is she?" he demands. ]

[celerystick]

[Meanwhile, Sydney follows Solace to the others, drawing her gun and holding it at her side in case the enemy appears, looking over her shoulder over and over as if it's going to appear behind her at any moment.]

Which way?

[Maybe she should...go after him.]

[Thoster still has no freaking clue what that bird was trying to tell him so he will just.... head down a random hall and hope he finds them??? (adding in search 21)]

Lissa! [He may also be shouting. He's not the sneaky sort of bard okay. He's loud and dramatic and fucking protective.]

[ oh hay, with her listen 17, that might be enough to wake her unconscious butt up. ]

[Phineas stumbles back a bit, looking over his shoulder... If he were smarter, he might try to escape - but not with a damsel in distress.]

[He tries to think quickly... Knowledge Religion of 19] Smile, bastard! [Computer Use Nat 20 to pull his phone out, and spam photos, hoping the camera flash buys them some more time, and calls out;]

Guys, over here!

[ solace seems torn for a moment as he hovers over the body, but he hears phineas yelling and rises to his feet, rushing that way, faith at his heels, yanking the holy symbol off his neck. they arrive at the end of the corridor by the end of their turn, just as callista wanders out at the other end. a look of disgust crosses her face when she sees the monster.

"Ugh, it's you. How many ways can I say it's over, Shaun?"

the vampire (shaun) turns to her, eyes flashing red, and she gasps as she notices his fangs, and finally sees what's going on out here. "I told you," he says, turning away from phineas' ridiculous attempts to stalk towards her, "We'll always be together. You'll see." his eyes flash as he stares her down, and she seems unable to look away from him suddenly, the sullen teenage scowl leaving her face as she looks at him in abrupt wonder. he lifts one hand to her face gently, and she smiles. ]

[She barely hear's Phineas' call (listen 10) but manages to at least get on the right track to possibly finding him (navigate 13). Chances are if she gets lost, she can just follow Solace and Faith the rest of the way, who she can hear behind her.]

[Thanks to his amazing searching skills, Thoster manages to find the group of them. He glances from the vampire to Lissa on the ground and back again. He's distracted with the other girl, Calista, and he should probably focus on saving her since she's the mission, huh?

A song jumps to his lips as he tries to fascinate the vampire with a haunting sort of melody (will save to beat his perform check 22). Hopefully he can draw his attention long enough to get the girl away??]

[ lissa struggles to stand (str 15) but her head is swimming and full of fuzziness, so she only manages to move forward. you know, helplessly into the fray.

the dragomir princess, everybody. not the sharpest tool in the shed. ]

[Shit. Desperate measures time? Phineas charges and attempts to grapple the Vampire. Maybe if he can keep him away from her just a bit longer, someone who can make a real difference will get there...]

Leave her alone!

[Have to look up non-Pathfinder grapple rules again... it's been so long... Shaun gets an Attack of Opportunity vs Phineas, because he doesn't have the grapple feat. (Unless he's distracted enough by Thoster's song to not notice?) And - If he doesn't get hit - I got a Nat 20 on the 'Grab' melee touch roll to begin the grapple... and a 15 on the actual grapple roll itself. But, if he does get hit, then the grapple just fails automatically.]

[ thoster's song does, indeed, seem to put the vampire in a strange sort of trance as he stares at callista, lost in the melody. however, that doesn't last very long, because phineas slams into him from behind, taking him by surprise so he doesn't get a chance to make an attack of opportunity. phineas manages to grip the vamp, but he whirls around, breaking out of his grasp easily (grapple check 22) and glaring angrily down at the binder, a murderous look in his eyes at being interrupted.

"Why you--"

faith lashes out a hand, two fingers moving to her forehead as she unleashes a a crushing psionic attack, that reverberates the air around his head and he lets out a horrible cry of debilitating pain, his eyes rolling back in his head. the vampire slumps suddenly to the ground, blood leaking out of its ears. ]
