[Hook's pretty much abandoned his room at the castle now that his home is put back together. He's at the Jolly Roger nearly every day, cleaning, doing minor repairs, or sailing her around just for fun.

[ she rolls her eyes slightly, but she doesn't seem exceptionally bothered. the whole situation with amara has made her softer if only because the memory of her own curse is hard to ignore when she's constantly thinking about amara's and that just turns her walls to dust. she might be using hook as a distraction so her lack of coping mechanisms don't become abundantly clear. ]

[He gives a flash of a smirk at her sarcasm. DISMISS HIS GOOD ADVICE IF YOU WANT. IT'S STILL GOOD.]

Yeah, and by the time Emma meets him, her aggressive man hate won't be able to scare him away because he loves me. It's not like I didn't plan her emotions into deciding when to introduce them.

You're in this for Emma and you know that she cares about me so any inkling of care you think you have for me is residual to Emma, because you want Emma, or because I just told you I torture myself by using my power and some strange part of you is tingling to rescue the damsel in distress. To impress Emma. It's not about me. So no, I'm not going to introduce my boyfriend to you because there isn't any reason to.

[ she says it calmly, like she isn't actually all that upset by it. and she's not really, her entire life has been about people using her to get to someone else, it's not a surprise that it bled through into this world. she can appreciate his vocabulary and that he cares about emma, but lila doesn't trust that care actually extends past emma to her. ]

Emma. [He actually looks confused at the insinuation, though he can see where it comes from. He cares for Emma, and she cares for Lila. But Hook isn't that generous a person in his mind. Caring for anyone is hard enough. Extending that care to who they care about just gets... complicated.

Besides, he has a feeling Emma wouldn't be particularly impressed with him pretending to care about someone just to try and impress her.]

Contrary to what you may think, I have other motivations in my life besides Emma. And I'm a pirate, not a hero. I don't much go in for damsels in distress.

[Bluff 20. He does go a bit in for damsels in distress, and he actually is working towards being a hero these days. But that really isn't why he's doing this.]

No! [He looks a little disgusted by the thought. Not precisely because she's disgusting herself (though he hasn't forgotten that time she threatened to hit his dick with a hammer) but because he's kind of friendzoned her. Also Emma would probably skin him alive.] Trust me, if that's what I wanted, I'd have no trouble getting it.

[He's not good at much, but he can melt the knees (and more) of most lasses. Not that he sounds particularly proud of that talent right now. It hasn't exactly gained him much of value besides a few fleeting hours of distraction.]
