The "afterparty" is the real main event of the night at every squiring, but tonight's party is a little different than usual - Faith has successfully lobbied (as in roped people into helping her decorate for) a Chinese New Year's party, or Lunar New Year, theme.  With Knights from all over the world, it was easy to get input from those who traditionally celebrate the holiday, and Wynn is all about the spirit of cultural unity.  Not to mention, the second of the 15 days of the spring festival is all about spending time with one's family and friends.  

The lavish, opulent ballroom has been transformed, filled with red lanterns, peach blossoms, kumquat plants, and chrysanthemums.    People are encouraged to dress in red to ward off evil spirits and bad luck, and avail themselves of the New Year's Cake, golden champagne cocktail, rice pudding, candied fruits, and the Tray of Togetherness.

As always, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Yeah. [ she nods quickly, curls bouncing. not that faye hasn't supplied her with a drink already. faye. but she'll totally take another. ]

[ max usurps one off a passing tray, and sniffs it ] Here. This are great. [ he hands it over without further explanation. ]

[ she eyes is warily. ] What is it? [ but without waiting for an answer she takes a sip because she is the most trusting person. ]

[ without answering at first, he smirks at her. FORT SAAAAVE. it tests kind of fruity almost, but rich. ] Do you like it?

[ SHE SURE CRIT FAILED. fml. she licks her lips, looking at it. ] I don't dislike it?

[ GONNA GET SO DRUNK SO FAST YEAH ] I could try to find you something else, if you want.

[ rude, max. ] No, it's... [ she takes another sip. ] It's nice, it's just really different from the drink Faye gave me.

Probably because it's from the Shadow World. Wynn collects a bunch of the stuff.

Everyone says "the Shadow World" but is it just one place that everything comes from? [ because she did not come from that world, so... ]

It used to be. It's just been these last few years that there have been... others.

I suppose it won't happen overnight. [ that would be nice though, since she assumes the first step to figuring out the veil is figuring out why these worlds specifically. ] It's weird that its so similar. This one to mine, I mean.

I hear the working theory is something about... parallel universes, instead of other dimensions. I guess that makes more sense, huh?

Sounds like a movie. I'm not sure I like the idea of a parallel me, though.

Yeah, I mean, the odds of two worlds on different courses producing the same people seems pretty far fetched, at least, if you just drew two universes out of a hat. So there's that.

Well that's reassuring. [ she means it, taking another, slightly larger, sip of the drink. she smiles, the drink going to her head. ] Just me. And I suppose there's only one you. [ another smile, a touch more flirtatious than the last. ] Also reassuring because I can't imagine I'd like to share.

[ lissa that doesn't make sense. she means she wouldn't like to see him with another girl, which another him could do, but it comes out... as sharing. bless her drunk heart. ]

That so? [ it's hard to say how he takes it, but his little smirk indicates he's entertained at least ] Not the sharing type, are you?
