It's over. After months of being sidelined by the trial of their friend Rafael, the Knights are finally free to return to England and see what headway the Dragon's Claws have made on discovering the location of the Talisman they seek.

But not everyone is so free to return. The consequence of getting Burt's assistance in disentangling Finnick from his contract and super-stardom was an ironclad agreement that allows Burt to sink his claws fully into Rafael's career. Considering that Burt knows their secret identity, non-disclosure agreement or not, the executive's renowned moral gray-itude doesn't exactly make it seem like a great plan to back out on the compromise.

They've at least been able to put off their goodbyes for a few days since the end of the trial, as Burt invited all of them to New York City for the opening of his brand new nightclub. Some of them flew out, while Archer and Des presumably drove their matching El Caminos cross-country in the days between. But now they've all met again in the Big Apple, for a celebration - and farewell of sorts.

[Spike pulls himself out of the car and makes an undignified but ultimately painless dash for the shade (since I'm gonna assume there's sunlight... fort 27).]

[Archer passes Finnick a flask not-so-discreetly.]

[FUCK YOU SPIKE, HE OFFERED. finnick takes the flask from archer, takes a generous swig, then passes it back.] All better.

I'm good, thanks. [ she smiles at elena, grateful for the help, and reaches out to snatch the flask before it makes it all the way back to archer. she takes a gulp and wipes her free hand on her jeans. ] That curb came outta nowhere.

[ DID IT, VI? DID IT? okay, now archer can have his flask back. ]

Des gets out on the street side of the limo and observes the failboat pile with a grimace and then steps around.]

Let's hope we don't get attacked at the party. Unless you plan to trip over the bad guys.

[ wow is this real life. you're all fired from the entourage. burt just... walks past this hot mess and shoves both doors open, spreading his arms wide as he goes inside, where a blonde woman with an improbable hairstyle and outfit full of surreal angles lets out a little shriek of delight and comes over to share cheek kisses with him.

"Herr Becksworth!" yes, she's also german. she's like german effie. "We are so glad to see you again, as always."

burt grins and turns around to introduce everyone who is coming in and spreading out behind him, knights casting curious glances around, kat's particularly wary. ]

Evonna. Rafael Giovanni, and Finnick. [ just finnick. like cher. he doesn't actually introduce anyone else because you're all peons, and evonna seems to only have eyes for the celebs anyway. she claps her hands together enthusiastically, in a near swoon and then comes forward between the two of them, turning to put a hand on either of their shoulders to draw them further into the salon.

"Yes, so very good to meet you! Such handsome men. But by the time you leave, Evonna will make you fabulous." she throws a glance over her shoulder at the rest of the group, casting somewhat withering looks at everyone's outfits. the exuberance in her voice flattens to disdain as she tacks on: "Nickolai, Katya, see to the... others. Burt, darling, you are with me." ]

Oh, actually, we're - [ she's cut off as evonna (who apparently speaks in third person) swans off with her man. and finnick. w/e. she'd donate him. she glances around, deflating a little from her dress excitement. ] ... Together. I thought. [ rude. ]

[ know who looks hilariously affronted right next to buffy, watching them all wander off? yep. she turns to the bleached blonde male who must be... nickolai and snaps: ] I am Rafael's manager. Burt should not be making wardrobe choices without me! [ yeah sure that's convincing, isa. good thing she has absolutely no skill in diplomacy whatsoever. she's such a people person. ]

We'll have more fun without 'em. [Just saying, Rafael and Finnick are kind of downers lately. He flashes a smirk at the other two, showing too many teeth, though at least they're all blunt and human-looking.] How about it, then? Shall we get started?

[ while kat looks skeptical and a little bit ready to punch anyone who tries to touch her, beside her, mark lights up a bit as he examines a nearby well dressed mannequin. ] Now that is some expert tailoring. But these would look better in dark blue.

[ kat rolls her eyes over at him like 'WHO ARE YOU, DUDE'. the two employees guide them in among racks of expensive shit, ranging from the really awesome to the ridiculous looking. there are dressing rooms available and big mirrors out here to come show off to each other. mark wastes no time in acquiring a large pile to go try on, at least. ]

Swear to god, if one of them touches me I'm going to mace them in the face... [ she pokes through the racks, looks at a dress, likes it, grabs it in her size and sits down. she's done! yay! ]

[ luthir is staying with you, boo. he does not want anyone to mess with his style, which is completely archaic and may involve things like bracers that are totally legit for clubbing, right. right.

[ isabella, at least, recovers from her annoyance enough to start looking through dresses, imperiously pointing several out to make nickolai carry behind her to try on. katya pulls a few selections to offer to each of the other ladies, and gar waves her away when she holds out a dress to her. ] Oh no, that's... that's quite alright, thank you, but I won't be going tonight...

Gar, you can't just not go. Of all of us, you deserve to let loose the most for putting up with this craziness. [ mission boss, and all. buffy takes the offered white dress from katya, folding it over her arm. ] Come on.

[ she looks forlornly through a rack beside her, before yanking out a black ankle-length dress with long sleeves, no shape, and design elements that bring the word 'schoolmarm' to mind. ] I suppose this is alright...
