[Helen nudges Alanna in a silent BE NICE sort of way. She's also going to head on down to the first level so they aren't those grumpy old man muppets anymore.]

Jeanne, there's no shame in it. I can assure you that this Knighthood has seen far more vulgar things. Why, just ask Zero or Andrew what they've found in the computer lab.

[rationalizes]

[ she starts packing up in a hurry, getting to her feet ] I... [ her response is half-mumbled, sheepish as hell ] like the story. [ this seems to be a particularly embarrassing admission for her and she gets ready to go... ]

Oh, Jeanne, don't—I didn't mean it in a bad way.

[ she huffs, frustrated with her own lack of courtesy and tact. ]

[Helen reaches the bottom of the stairs and comes around while Gar is packing up.]

Don't leave on our account. Really. We didn't mean anything by it. But you certainly shouldn't be embarrassed for enjoying a story.

[rationalizes]

[ gar stops at least, staring down at her bag before dragging her gaze up to helen. ] ...They were written by a real Knight, you know. One who was kicked out of the Knighthood just for writing them.

That's a silly reason to fire someone. They're not honestly filled with knight secrets, are they?

[rationalizes]

Considering our entire organization's existence is a secret, and she described the castle, the way we operated then, sections, and other things? I'd say yes they were.

It's a story. No one's meant to believe it's true any more than you're meant to believe someone can tear your bodice in half with his bare hands.

[daredtobelieve]

I imagine it's more about the curious sort of minds that such stories could spark. Despite how high profile some of our missions may seem, we do our best to remain tucked away from prying eyes.

[She tilts her head, thoughtful.]

There is something to be said for trying to hide in plain sight, though.]
