The night has not gone as planned.

With the help of the unicorn Nick Starkweater, Faith O'Keefe used her dreamwalking powers to take Violet and her new husband Luthir into Vi's dreams to face down the shadow remnant of Malaak'a that had consumed her nightmares and prevented her spirit from returning to full strength with the return of spring. Keijen Blade's warning, however, that such an attempt would end in blood, proved true: Luthir gave his life to allow Vi to do what must be done.

Meanwhile, the 'reconnaissance' mission meant to gather intel on what Keijen Blade was doing at his concerts went south when several of the team members fell prey to Blade's compulsion. After almost prompting Archer and Rose to commit suicide onstage in front of an eager crowd, Blade let the team walk out with their lives, which was almost as unsettling as the power he'd displayed in controlling such a large mass of people.

No one is really in the mood or shape to take a flight that night, so it's crashing at a hotel for the Knights tonight.

Some people might need the sleep, while others may be less than able to get any. Feel free to single-thread tag what your character is up to at 4AM or so.

[Myri has dozed off but isn't truly asleep. She's on a chair, curled up for now. But as she fades in and out of consciousness, she catches that name. Nadia. (Listen 29) Sitting straighter, she turns towards Spike.]

You saw her?

[Archer is just pounding liquor, and scanning the room observing everyone. He's not used to not actively hating his co-workers, so he's having a hard time dealing with this situation. Typically he wouldn't give a damn, but he's actually grown a little less dick-ish since he fell through the veil. Sadly, no less of an alcoholic;]

[He gives a 'harrumph'-like snort when Rose storms out.]
Kids and their damn phones these days.

[Then he turns to eavesdrop on Spike & Myri. He's just glad people are talking, really. The whole brooding silence thing isn't helping with him being pissed.]

[Klaus doesn't really give two shits about Luthir or ... any of these people, really. He didn't know him well if at all, and even if he had it's unlikely he would have felt anymore moved by the news. So while everyone else was wallowing in grief, self-pity, or dealing with their inner homo, it's safe to say that the after-show has only served to improve his mood since the concert.

If Archer is drinking scotch, then it's safe to assume that Klaus is going to be doing the same--whether invited or not. So he's hovering near the kitchen as well. Rose is afforded a passing glance as she stalks into one of the empty rooms, but for the most part Klaus is listening to the conversation taking place across the way.]

It couldn't have been easy on her, having her mind violated the way that she did.

[Trollolol. Archer can pat his own butt as he comes to terms with his underlying attraction to Keijen Blade. Klaus is just here for the booze.]

[Spike looks over at Myri and nods, expression dark.] Yeah. She performed first. I ended up following her backstage to... do some recon. [Bluff 16. He followed her because mind control magic fan obsession.] I offered her a rescue, but... [He shakes his head.] She's got something in her head. She can't leave until we find a way to get it out.

[Her sense motive is over 20 so she gives him am odd look but doesn't ask.]

[He shakes his head.] More like... [He trails off and glances over at Vi.] She... managed to get a message to me, but whatever... or whoever it was has a bloody tight hold on her. He sees what she sees and all that. She's... terrified.

[Archer considers Klaus for a moment... holds a finger up, like he's trying to piece some idea together.]

There's... There's a joke there, somewhere. Say, did I do anything weird when goth-face Mc. cock-sucker had the whammy on me? [Archer has been debating whether to ask anyone what the hell happened during the telepathy blackout. Klaus is probably the best person to ask. Probably.]

[All the while he's listening in on Spike & Myri, but he's not really in the caring mood on the subject... Spike's a dick, and Nadia is a bitch.]

You mean apart from throwing yourself at Keijen Blade as though you were a thirteen year old girl attending her first Backstreet Boys concert and subsequently attempting to off yourself in front of thousands at his command to prove your dedication as his number one fan, only to then fail miserably and fall into the arms of yet another man? [He raises his glass toward Archer, as though to toast the occasion.] Cheers.

That was what I told Klaus we might be dealing with. I could feel him channeling his power through her, and her head was... well, a mess is putting it lightly. He's a constant presence for her. I don't know how she's keeping it together.

It's better than the alternative. [ she shakily stands and heads to the bathroom. where she is going to drown herself in the bathtub. probably not. but maybe... either way, the shower starts so at least the black cloud of grief is gone. ]

[ faith walks in to hear that last bit and see vi going out, and follows her with a concerned gaze before turning back to the room, arms folded as she leans against the door frame. ] I don't know if Vi is ever going to feel any differently about it, but I can't help but feel like she's wrong. Whatever he's doing inside of these people's heads... it's about hurting more than just them.

[Out of sight and possibly out of mind, the closed door muffles Rose's voice and yet a Listen Check of 17 will allow people to overhear this conversation as feet wear patterns into the ground of the room as she paces.]

[Archer's drink is empty, so he grabs the bottle to refill it. He drinks a few deep swigs from the bottle, before slowly refilling his glass. Archer gets increasingly angry and frustrated as his mind wends around the concept yet again of magic and telepathy and whatever in this world...]

Next time I see that colossal asshole, I'm going to make him into a goddamned three piece suit, to go with the hat I made out of his minotaur friend.

[That's... actually a little fucking terrifying Archer.]

Cheers. [A bit delayed, he raises his now-refilled glass, in response the Klaus' toast.]

[This probably marks the first smile all evening. It may be terrifying but it's currently winning him much needed points after he basically became Keijen's lapdogalong with everyone else on the mission. Congratulations, Archer. Klaus likes the cut of your jib. You've almost recovered from that shit tier first impression you made.]

[With Vi drawing her attention away from spike and Tia, myri starts to go into mama bear mode and has her senses at high alert apparently. She catches the conversation in the other room (listen 26) and while she doesn't know Rose at all, she gets up to go check on her.]

Everything alright..? [She stands outside the door, knowing that the question is incredibly stupid, considering. But what else do you say?]

Somehow I get the feeling if you tried, Blade will leave you wearing a tutu and singing the Hokey Pokey for him. Trust me. You don't want to piss off a telepath unless you have a way ready to shut them down. [ and NONE OF MY NPCS MADE THAT LISTEN CHECK for rose in the hall, they are amazeballs ]

[Trying to juggle two conversations happening at once, Rose can only manage a somewhat curt sorry Myri ;; I'm Fine before she's tuning back into what Dimitri is saying.

[Spike's listen check of 31 means he sure heard that shit. Really, he wishes she would keep it down cause he's trying to figure out something for Nadia's situation.]

It's definitely not good, and she clearly wants out...

[He trails off and stands up, walking over towards Rose.]

[Silence stretches on for what feels like a solid minute, Rose making no attempt to respond to Myri as she calls her name, she's completely absorbed in whatever is being said to her.

Without warning, a loud, guttural scream rips from Rose's lungs and nothing short of a crit fail on a listen check would make that one missable, a crash then clatter coming on the back of it. In the space of two seconds, the door to the bedroom is ripped open (Str 14) and a terrifying Rose (Intimidation Nat 20) comes face to face with Myri Sorry ;; and Spike.

It takes her a moment, hands shaking with her rage before Rose can even find the words she needs.]

I need a phone. Now.

[Myri jumps back when Rose comes out, cowering back towards Spike.]

I thought you were just..?

[WERENT YOU JUST ON THE PHONE???? She points with a shaky hand toward the table where her phone is sitting.]

[he hadn't been eavesdropping on rose, choosing instead to listen to everyone talking about ... blade putting archer in a tutu and dancing the hokey pokey. but she catches his attention when she bursts out of the door like the koolaid man wtf. and is ... unmoved. will save nat 20 bitchezzzz. [The phone in question, the one that Rose had been on could be found rather easily. It was in several pieces on the floor. That crash and clatter that you may have heard would have been Rose hurling said phone against the wall with great strength (Str 23).

She doesn't waste time with thank yous or apologies Sorry Myri, stalking over to the table where the phone is, hands shaking so much that she has trouble even swiping the screen to unlock it.

She knows what she wants to do but for a long moment Rose stares dumbly at the phone, unable to remember the number she needs to dial. (Knowledge 6)]
