In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

[in an effort to not be a weepy mess, Myri actually manages to look entirely unaffected by those words (will save nat 20 oops). She looks at him, trying to imagine both of those scenarios and finding the chance that they might make it, that they might both survive to enjoy their marriage to be enjoyable enough to outweigh the terror of losing him.]

After Andres. [She says finally.] We should do it then, before I find something new to fear. I do want to marry you, Finnick. I just- I keep imagining being in Vi's place, burying the man I love. But I've let fear rule me for too long. When we're done with Andres, can we?

[Her feelings on this matter are sort of extreme. Sorry about your traumatized fiancé, Finnick.]

OF course. After Andres. [he leans in to kiss her.] I know that it's hard, but we can't let our lives be ruled by fear.

[witchwoman]

[yay kisses.]

I know. Or rather- I'm trying to remember that. [She pauses again before deciding that it's apparently time to talk about everything.]

At the wedding, Francesca and I were talking and she brought up children. Ever since then, I've realized that we've never talked about that. Do you want them?

[It might be hard to read the nervous look in her eyes. Witchwoman didn't bear children. Something about their magic kept them barren. And it hardly occurred to Myri that her magic was changing and so might that certainty. Mostly she's just concerned she won't be able to give Finnick and child, should he want one.]

[it occurs to him that franny asked him about having children with myri many moons ago as well (wis 18) — ARE YOU PLOTTING SOMETHING FRANNY. do you want them to give you grandchildren even tho they aren't your kids?????] I wouldn't mind, but it's not something I need. [he squeezes her hand reassuringly.] How do you feel about it?

[witchwoman]

I've never really thought much about it. Witchwoman rarely marry. And I've always heard that they can't bear children, but... [Part of her wants a family, but she's afraid she wouldn't be able to conceive even if things ever calmed down enough to try.] I suppose we have time to think about it later.

The prospect of children always seemed sort of ... well, at home, you knew what they were going to go through once they reached a certain age, so I was wary of it. [he shrugs.] But things are different now. And even if you can't bear children, that's okay. If we really wanted them, we could adopt.

[witchwoman]

I can't imagine trying to do it right now. [sorry vi] But... I think I might want it later. You'd be a good father.

Me either. [then he smiles a little because:] Really? You think so?

[witchwoman]

[She nods, relaxing a little because this is nicer to talk about, imagining him as a father.]

Yes, but you'd probably get them into trouble. [She's just remembering coming back to a pillow fight between him and Vi. Actual children.]

[he just laughs softly.] Maybe. Lucky thing they'd have you around to get them out of trouble.

[witchwoman]

Hmm- I might just leave you with all the trouble, though. [she manages a slightly teasing tone.]

Aw, come on, why would you do that? Parenting's supposed to be a shared effort.

[witchwoman]

Hmm- I could possibly be persuaded to help you. But you would need to be very convincing.

Are you certain? You might be losing your touch. [/aggressively teases him to pretend like things are closer to normal.]

[he puts his hand over his chest and feigns shock.] What? Why?

[witchwoman]

[She gives a little shrug, the corners of her mouth fighting back a smile.]

You could always convince me that's not the case.

What if I did this? [he leans in to kiss her. (charm 26) ~SO CONVINCING~]

[witchwoman]

[there we go- that's what she was getting at here. Her hands reach up to touch his face, holding him to linger a moment longer than he maybe intended. Her will save is a 22 but he makes her weak in the knees without trying so that was a given.]

That could... [words, myri. use your words.] Yes.

I knew it. [big grin. and then he goes in for the kiss again. awww yeah.]

[witchwoman]

[She almost protests, but he's kissing her again, and really who would ever ask him to stop doing that? Not this girl. It's not the right time at all to be making out, but Dean is banging a girl in the bathroom on this flight so fuck the haters basically.]
