You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. You can also specify 'single thread', meaning you want only one response for all participants, rather than multi-thread, where a number of different scenes/threads can be done as replies to the top prompt.]

I have a lot of catching up to do.
[Basically he has to relearn every supernatural creature ever. Y a y.
He'll return her friendly handshake.]
Sam Winchester. Nice to meet you. You're a veteran around here?
no subject
Aye, I've been around a few years, though callin' me a veteran makes me sound old [ she wrinkles her nose at that with another chuckle. ]
So what are ye catching up on? [ her accent is Irish, but mixed with something else, something lighter. ]
no subject
[I mean...look at her. o.o]
Well, I'm pretty familiar with the supernatural and all things non-human where I'm from. Unfortunately, the facts are a little different. [A beat.] Actually, a lot different.
no subject
So where do ye hail from, Sam, that the supernatural would be so different?
no subject
Originally? Kansas. Other side of the Veil, Kansas. But I've been on the road since I was a kid. I'm guessing it's the Veil part that makes it so different.
no subject
Kansas? I've no idea where that is. Ye never heard of the Veil before ye came here? No wonder ye feel as though ye need to study up on this stuff [tapping on the book as she speaks]
We've a couple of Knights who're vampires. Ye might be better off talking to them if ye want to brush up on your vamp-knowledge.
no subject
[Whoops.]
The Veil specifically? No. Other planes of existence sure, but not completely other dimensions.
[His eyebrows go up.]
Seriously? Vampires can be knights?
[Your monster racism is showing, Sam.]

Wynn's philosophy is "Knightly until proven evil" or something along those lines.
no subject
Right. Yeah. My mistake.

for all of her bluff and bravado, she is still very sensitive to other peoples reactions to who and what she is. the castle was her home, and the other knights were a part of her family, and this was the one place she felt she could truly be herself. the fact that she could make a fellow knight uncomfortable by being what she was saddened her more than she thought it would.
she straightens away from the desk, ducking her head so her hair falls forward once more to cover her ears. her cheeks have a tinge of red as she looks back up to sam quickly, then away again, keys jingling as she shifts them from one hand to the other.]
I uh, I should be going then. It was a pleasure to have met ye, Sam Winchester.

So he just manages a smile, and it's friendly enough. Even genuine. He'd been more worried about offending her than anything else and as far as he can tell he...didn't. /sigh]
You too. See you around.

was she wrong about him, about his discomfort with what she was? perhaps she was just being overly sensitive, which was entirely possible knowing her propensity for overreaction.
she didn't like to think that someone who would join the knights would have a problem with shadowkind, therefore she had to conclude that he didn't have a problem and she was being an idiot. that wasn't out of the ordinary, she was an idiot at least three times a day. this just counted as number one.]
I'm headed into London for some supplies, and chinese food. Do ye want any?
no subject
You don't mind? [A beat. She's so nice. <3] I guess I'll take an order of spring rolls.
[One of the few mildly healthy things on the chinese menu.]
