[lemon tries to climb into the chair with lila ... which is a bit unfortunate, bc he's a medium-sized dog and not the tiny lapdog he is in his heart. but he decided lila is friend. and he wants pets. he's kind of dumb. but i just rolled a climb (??) check for him and he got a nat 20 so i guess he just maneuvers into the chair and cozies up with lila bc he's a dog in control of his own destiny.

meanwhile, will stays asleep. and is no longer tossing and turning and being sweaty/gross. he's gonna sleep for 6 hours, so she definitely has time to sleep herself. when he wakes up, he sits up and scans the room, half expecting to see abigail there ... but it's lila instead. oh right. he did the thing.]

I think ... I think it worked.

[ lila looks like she hasn't slept a wink. she has, actually, and her dreams were comparatively not awful, but not gr8 so her sleep was still fitful and disrupted. this good dream shit is very slowly working, but lemon was a nice pillow she did not mind the cuddle buddy at all.

she looks up from her tablet where she is teaching herself another language and pulls out the one headphone she has in. she was sharing the other one with lemon maybe. we just don't know.

I know, I know. I wasn't doubting. [he stretches back like a cat.] Were you watching me sleep all night?

No, I'm teaching myself Dwarven to impress Dovan. Gnomish and whatever that crap Goblins speak uses the same alphabet and those are next on my list. Your dog likes it. Don't you, sweetie? [ dog frands. ] You're nightmares were awful, I didn't want them to creep back if I left.

[ so yes, she spent all night watching him sleep. ]

[lemon licks lila's hand in response. so ... yeah, probs.] Lemon. The dog's name is Lemon. And, uh, Chuck and Sookie. [he motions over to where chuck and sookie are laying around doing nothing.] You saw my nightmares?

I may have lied about not looking. [ she smiles sweetly. betcha never saw that coming. ]

[yeah no his sense motive was like 43. he was fucking expecting it. maybe he thought giving her a taste would get her to shut up, like when you give little kids alcohol and then they spit it out like ewww gross. and he thought it was only fair after he ... accidentally read her mind.] I knew you were.

Yeah, well, I couldn't have stopped your nightmare if it didn't, so instead you were like Lonely Island, on a boat, with Alex's little friend. [ you're welcome. ]

[he squints like wtf; it takes him a minute.] Abigail?

Yeah, little brunette thing, looks downright charming dolled up in fishing gear and at you like you hung the moon and the stars. [ is that true when he is not sleeping is what she seems to be getting at without even getting at it. ]

[he glances down, a little sheepish.] I'm her legal guardian.

Cute. [ she doesn't press further because alex explained enough. ] I didn't watch that part. Your happy place is undisturbed.

My happy place isn't the one that anyone gives a damn about. ... You're fine.

[bittersweeter]

Nyet. [ she shakes her head. ] Dreams are how we accept the world and things we can't change. Your dreams are important even if I'm the only one that knows what they are. Your happy place is with a girl who is comfortable enough not to wear a scarf when she's with you. [ she taps her throat with her index finger. ] That matters, trust me.

[ giving lemon a little nudge, she starts attempting to get up. ]

Okay, so I watched a little. [ standing up, sorry lemon, no more dwarven for you. :( she grabs her empty cup from the side table, twisting the headphone cord around her tablet. it takes her a second to confirm his second comment. ] I was the cat.

[lemon hops out of the chair and watches her like "why stranger go away :(" ] You know how black cats are supposed to be bad luck? They actually believe the opposite in England and Ireland. Think it's white cats.

I walked people to their deaths with my little cat paws, I can see why white cats are bad omens. [ she crouches to pet lemon again, SHE IS VERY FOND OF THIS DOGGIE. ]

[chuck and sookie decide to stop being lazy bitches and investigate lila now that she's giving lemon attention.]

Sleepwalking? [wis 23. will probably seems ... more unsettled by this than the average person. lila already has a good clue as to why.]

Mhmm. [ fine doges, she will put her shit down to pet you all. ] Little tap on their forehead and they'd walk out in their pjs to where my cousin and Cassel were waiting outside. Cassel would turn them into something, which effectively killed them, and then Barron would wipe his memory while Anton put me back in the cage. Not a bad system, really. [ except for the cat in a cage part. ]

Doesn't sound like a good system for you. [of course will notices. he cares more about animals than people. even when the cat is actually a people too.]

That wasn't really Anton's problem. [ and that is why anton is dead. sux 2 b u. ]
