Finally figured out the fridge is basically communal? [ she scoops up whichever dog is smallest and settles in the chair across from will. ] I got a fridge last year.

Something like that. [he shrugs.] It usually doesn't bother me too much. But then, I guess I have problems being assertive. [APPARENTLY.]

Are you sure your "problems with being assertive" aren't just problems giving a fuck? [ she... does not think he has problems being assertive. he's been plenty assertive with her, but he also seems to realize when she is lying about not doing something (peeking into his dreams) and just doesn't care. ]

How's your mind reading thing going? [ she shoves her face in chuck's fur (i decided it was chuck) and gives him a little kiss so will doesn't have her scrutiny while he answers. ]

[he shrugs, pushing the book aside. he's spent too much time looking at books. chuck tries to crane his neck around to lick lila's face. i guess i should find a dog pb for him. here he's a black goldendoodle. it is known. ] I haven't been able to trigger it again since that one time with you.

Oh. [ boo. her mouth twists to the side as she thinks, letting the dog lick her cheek like w/e. ] I had this idea that you know how when people get a new job they shadow someone with the same job? I used to follow my dad around to learn the ropes. I thought that might help you control it. If you read the mind of someone reading someone else's mind. [ god that was like she sells sea shells. ]

Wh -- how would that even work?

I don't know, I've never done it. [ she's never read anyone's mind, actually, it's not a spell she tries to use all that often. ] I figured it would be something like muscle memory. Once you've done something a few times, your body just knows how to do it. I guess, the same concept can be applied to this, can't it? Once you've felt how it's supposed to feel -- when it's on purpose and not some weird accident -- you'll be able to recreate it. [ a a beat as she glances up from the dog to the man. ] Does that make sense?

Yeah ... I guess that makes sense. [he just sounds hesitant bc he has no idea how to trigger it.]

Not much makes me enthusiastic. [/points out that he's himself for her i guess.] I don't know ... that's what I did with the encephalitis, too. Denial. Didn't end so well for me.

Yeah, you really shouldn't deny encephalitis. [ like wow, will. ]

It's not like I knew it was encephalitis. I just knew something might be wrong with me. The brain scans didn't show anything wrong the first time [did they???? his memories of this shit are so jacked hahaha ha ha ... ] so what were my options? I have a cold? I'm going insane?

Yeah, well, a CT wouldn't catch it anyway, unless they were looking for it. They do LPs for encephalitis. [ she might have googled it. we just don't know. (knowledge 17) more likely she was googling bad dreams and hallucinations and it spiraled from there. ~the Internet. ] A good doctor should have done an LP.

I don't really remember what they did, besides the MRI machine. [whether that's bcuz of the encephalitis or veilnesia, he doesn't know. probably both.] It felt like being inside a coffin.
