Wow that went to a weird place in a hurry. Maybe make it weird after there's no chance of ruining my appetite around pizza?

Gotcha. [She gives him a thumbs up. And then slides a few slices of the pizza onto a plate for him. She's just gonna eat it off the pan. Like a lady.]

So. What's new in the world? Any exciting missions or gossip or whatever I should be aware of?

Yeah, same. After that whole thing in Oxford, I've just been catching up on my reading... Which, incidentally, hanging out in the library gives you some great insights into people around here.

[She picks up a piece of pizza.] Turns out he's her boyfriend.

Belle? She's Abigail's mentor. So she's dating some old guy, huh?

Far be in from me to question anyone's daddy complexes, but she didn't seem the type.

[He gives a shrug.] Maybe not, but if they're happy, I guess go old guy.

Besides- what type do you think she is?

I dunno. Probably the type who likes those big swoony hunky guys in the romance novels. Librarians love that shit.

[Bambi, no. She makes a face.] My mom loved that shit.

So you think she would be into guys your mom would be into. But still think it's weird that she's into older guys. I'm struggling here, because I've seen that librarian and she's not that much older than us.

[He says as if he and Bambi are even the same age. Or as if Belle is anywhere close to his age. I'm just chalking all of this up to #teenagers.]

When my mom was her age, dip. [She waves a hand.] Whatever... age that is. Early twenties, I guess.

[Stiles shrugs, not really seeing the big deal still.]

Sometimes you don't think people will work together but they just... do.

[says the guy desperately pining after a girl way out of his league.]

[She squints at him.] Oh God, you're a romantic, aren't you?

[Really, the only big deal is that Bambi is about as romantic as pine needles and obviously there's some ulterior motive to a girl like that and a guy like the gimpy sorcerer, BUT...]

May...be..? [He's never really... dated. So that's a hard question to answer.] I guess.

You guess. [Eyebrow. She picks up a slice of pizza and laughs.] So young. So innocent.

[Stiles will just grumble into his pizza.]

So what about you? Not into romance, obviously.

I'm into just embracing life with as few complications as possible. Romance complicates things.

Sure, but it's almost not always avoidable. You think 9 year old Stiles wanted to fall in love with a girl who didn't know he existed?

[Wow that got a little more honesty hour than he was planning on. Must be the pizza talking.]

[Ooooh heavy. She knits her brows at him and begins to disembowel her pizza by removing the toppings.] Love's a terminal illness. You hope you never catch it and then you do and it makes your life miserable forever.

[Well, she has a point. Sometimes he feels pretty miserable.]

It's not all bad. I mean, it's not great, but...

[He shrugs, not really having much of an argument. But he wouldn't change how he feels if he could. It might not be easy to feel things for someone who didn't really feel the same back, but he'd rather have that then forget.]

But. [She peels off the cheese and eats it in a very delicate and ladylike manner (not) and then proceeds to tear the crust into pieces so she can feed it to the birds outside later.] There's no cure for it. You just hope it goes into remission or something. Or you catch something else.

[She is taking this metaphor to town, man.] But you sound like you've got the full Sixteen Candles act and you're stuck as Duckie.

[Awww but it's fun. She seems to realize she's smashing his paradigm with a hammer and gives him a shrug of her own as she finishes eating the toppings off her pizza.]
