Hopefully. She's an aasimar, pretty high up the lineage chain, too. If anyone knows how to hold onto an emotion for longer than their more mortal friends...

As a person, who's trying to grieve, while not feeling disconnected from the rest of the world.

Have you ever lost someone, Emma? Most people have.

Having someone to lose makes people weak. I'd rather avoid that nonsense.

Well, not all of us have your foresight. [ the sarcasm is strong with this one ] It doesn't have to make a lot of sense. You don't want pity, but things aren't the same.

Being treated like a person. I know, it sounds straightforward, but think about the way people look at her now.
