[ It seems that Wynn was hoping for Sir Mark Sandazhard to reveal his true identity, and to lead the charge against Dimitris Sarandis' tyrannical hold over the island he was born to rule.   He was not disappointed, and Prince Marcus Andres stands poised to lead the group of Knights who he's worked beside for two years, to confront Sarandis, save their friend Kat, and search the castle dungeon for the captive Dragon's Claw, Sir Thomas Bancroft.    

Before they attempt to answer the castle, however, it's time to reunite the Prince with his childhood friends on the Isle, who had long held out hope that he was still alive, including his once-betrothed, Countess Lara Tamon.  Their first task will be to convince Lara to make a risky attempt to draw Kat out of the castle.  

The fate of their captured allies, and the future of Andres Isle, lie in their hands.  ]

[ fiona's taken a seat on the ground next to faith, albeit not very gracefully, as she, too, is wearing her armor. if something does happen, and she's not prepared, it'll probably take her a good two or three minutes just to get back up on her feet. but she's not the type to think things through, and she's been absently twirling a blade of grass between her fingers as they wait, apparently lost in thought.

at faith's words, however, she drops her hand to her side and gawks up in faith's direction. ] Wait, what? We might have to just sit here? The whole time? [ seems that part of the mission had slipped her mind... ]

Depending on how things go in there. If all the other teams do their jobs without anything strange happening... they might not need us.

[ arthur raises his eyebrows because seriously he's been on missions with team failboat, how likely is that to happen. really. but he also chooses not to comment (progress?) and instead addresses fiona and faith both. ]

Perhaps you should have brought a book.

I don't know if I could concentrate on a book when we're about to have our own adventure. [ she actually loves books, ok. but mostly because the place she grew up could be hella boring... ] ... Theoretically.

[ well, fiona sure did bring a book, but it's nothing exciting or adventurous. instead, from her backpack she pulls out a rather large tome on the political climate of andres isle over the last century, with special emphasis on the recent (in comparison) overthrow of a monarchy, and the newly instated dictatorship government. ] Oh, I could.

[ she blows some dust from the cover, resting the heavy text across her lap, and dives right in. she loves this kind of stuff, okay? (with a 23 int check, too!) ]

[Alcide is hoping that they don't get to see any action, honestly--if only because that would mean that nothing has gone wrong with any of the other teams. Everything going according to plan tends to translate into less risk of casualty. But he ain't saying shit. He's just sort of leaning against a tree, arms crossed and watching Fiona curiously as she basically pulls out a text book wtf.]

'Least you came prepared. [Even if it was for a history/political science course.]

More of a personal interest, actually. [ she turns one of the thin pages, continuing to scan the words as she speaks ] Can't lie, the idea of being able to help this many people rise up against their oppressors and reclaim their, you know, inherent and inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, or whatever, just really speaks to me, on, like, a spiritual level, or something.

[ as cheesy as it sounds, she's really being 100% serious right now. she flips to the next page of text. ] I've just always been drawn to this sort of thing. Guess you could say it's in my nature.

[chessing]

[ wynn, staring out of the woods, smirks the tiniest bit, listening to that. you saw nothing. ]

A noble goal, certainly. Hopefully one to be done with a minimum of bloodshed, unlike most revolutions.

Well, the fact that we have so much diplomatic leverage should hopefully work in our favor, right? [ ofc she would remember all this stuff and not... to pack deodorant or other simple/normal things ]

[wynn]

[ in the midst of all this, wynn receives a text that furrows his brow. ] It looks as if they intend to move on the Shadow village already. Likely searching further for the escaped convict. [ he dispatches a message to dovan, who is underwater, so idek if his phone is working wow dovan a+ ]

But in better news-- [ faith looks up smiling from her own phone ] Comm tower's down?

[familybusiness]

[Wynn's phone starts to ring, and when he picks up, he'll have a very grave voice on the other end.]

Sir, we have a big problem.

[wynn]

[ some time has passed since the comm tower fell under their control, in which a few texts or calls have come through here or there, most recently the one indicating someone had tried to shoot dimitris inside the castle. wynn's mouth is set in a hard line, therefore, when he goes to answer sam's call. ] What manner of problem?

[familybusiness]

One of the computers in the prison was- [A brief pause as he looks aside. l o l.] -destroyed. It's dying act, so to speak, was to initiate an attack on the castle.

[wynn]

What kind of attack?

[familybusiness]

The weapons are originating from the prison itself. Whatever it is, they were holding it here, and now it's free and targeting the castle.

The console died before I could get more information. It could be one weapon, or it could be a swarm.

[A beat.]

We have one of the guards here with us. Maybe I can get him to tell us more.

[wynn]

Do that. I'll send all available resources to stop the attack from reaching the palace. It's imperative that our teams there are not interrupted.

[familybusiness]

I'll call back as soon as I know anything.

[And then he hangs up.]

[wynn]

[ wynn slides the phone away, turning to look at the others. ] We have a situation.

[Alcide sort of figured as much from the one side of Wynn's conversation he was able to overhear, but it isn't until Wynn openly addresses the rest of the group post-phone call that he actually speaks up, despite the severe lack of details they are presented with.]

How do we fix it? [Let's cut right to the chase, shall we?]

[wynn]

We hold the line.

Position ourselves between the jail and the palace, and fend off whatever forces have been released, to prevent them from interfering with our operations.

Finally! Some action. [ faith leaps to her feet, reaching down a hand for fiona as wynn records a message to broadcast to the others. ]

[wynn]

A lot of it, I'm certain. [ wynn doesn't sound nearly enthused, as he hangs up and nods to them all to follow him. ] We'll take this a bit to the east. That should put us right in the path of whatever everyone else lets through.

[ fiona accepts faith's hand up, her eyes sparkling at the prospect of something exciting finally happening, as well. ] Let's do this!
