[ It seems that Wynn was hoping for Sir Mark Sandazhard to reveal his true identity, and to lead the charge against Dimitris Sarandis' tyrannical hold over the island he was born to rule.   He was not disappointed, and Prince Marcus Andres stands poised to lead the group of Knights who he's worked beside for two years, to confront Sarandis, save their friend Kat, and search the castle dungeon for the captive Dragon's Claw, Sir Thomas Bancroft.    

Before they attempt to answer the castle, however, it's time to reunite the Prince with his childhood friends on the Isle, who had long held out hope that he was still alive, including his once-betrothed, Countess Lara Tamon.  Their first task will be to convince Lara to make a risky attempt to draw Kat out of the castle.  

The fate of their captured allies, and the future of Andres Isle, lie in their hands.  ]

I doubt it would do much good against her. [ he gives a bitter empty smile, but reaches for the weapon ] But that doesn't mean I won't take it.

[Satisfied with that, Des presses on, a cold edge in his tone when he speaks.] She's got worse things to worry about than you.

Then don't take our word for it now. [ Pulling the gun from her pants, she hands it to him grip-first. ] Take it when we come back alive.

What? Seemed like a fair question, Jeanne. Stop breaking my balls. Let's just get this over with, so we can rescue Becksworth number two. Sheesh.

[ gar ignores archer, while chad accepts the gun and then casts a baleful look back at his cell, before retreating inside it with a grimace. ] What about the, er... [ mark points at the door. that's been completely removed. ]

You want to make him wait in the other cell [the one where they just rekilled tia's dad] and hope no one notices?

He might do well to pretend to be frightened of whoever came through to remove the door. But hopefully, we'll run into anyone coming down here before he does. It shouldn't be long, Mr. Becksworth.

[Myri really doesn't like this plan, but she can tell that trying to fight against it now would be an uphill battle- one that she would probably lose and would only break down on group moral. Seeing that Chad is more aware of himself and seeming slightly less traumatized, she makes her way over to Finnick and half slumps against him as she takes a break and finally heals herself up a bit, (cure moderate for 20 hp and cure light for 13 hp puts her at a whopping 39. good enough.)]

The roses. [She says to Finnick, keeping her voice slightly lowered, not really wanting to make a big deal of it.] I don't want to use them until we have to. Anyone can use them, so if something happens to me, I want you to have them to keep the group safe

[finnick nods, and as much as he wants to argue pooh pooh nothing's going to happen to you myri, he won't. because they're seen some shit and there's probably more to come. A DRAGON ATE SPIKE.]

Thank you. [She says it even quieter than the rest. Getting a little emotional over here, everyone. But she'll take her bag back for now. She won't burden him with playing medic when he can skewer things with his trident. It's only if she's hurt that she wants him to take on her duties. Pressing up on tip toe, she pulls him closer to press a quick kiss to his cheek. She can be romantic in the face of death if she wants.]

We should go. The quicker we get in there, the quicker this will all be over. Are any of you hurt?

[ as they go to round the next bend, a haunting, dirge-like whistle fills the air, low at first, then gradually louder. a dc 16 will save is necessary to avoid becoming paralyzed with fear, unable to take actions until the whistling stops, with a -2 to defense.

And the fun just keeps on comin'.

[ Except then it says "help me," and Buffy's useless to resist. She shoots Myri and Des quick glances, then books it in the direction of the voice, axe ready. ]

[ mark follows, sword drawn, also making his save. the voice grows louder as they get near to another cell... where des would see a figure hunched in the shadows in the corner, curled together in such a ball that all that's visible are the bumps of their spine on their bare back from where they're curved in on themselves. ] Another prisoner.

[Will 23. Myri glances at Finnick and the others before following after Buffy and Mark, because they have to help. And if those two get hurt she's not going to dawdle.]

Should we..? [Free them? Is it safe to do that when they may turn the island upside down over the course of the night?]

I don't think we can do anything for them until Dimitris is out of power. [Des glances back at where they left Chad.] We don't wanna bring them into ground zero.

[ des' words cause the mental cry to become more plaintive, panic coursing through the voice as it says: "No! Please don't leave me! Don't leave me, don't leave me here in the dark!" mark's face crumbles a bit as he glances at the others. ] Maybe we can at least talk them down.

It's alright. [Myri can play torture victim whisperer for this leg of the mission. She steps up closer and tries to get a better look.] We're going to help you, all of you. But you're safer here for now. I promise we'll come back for you. Really. [diplomacy 32. apparently her voice is like a verbal hug.]

[ mark comes up behind her and squeezes her shoulder at her words, but the figure merely starts shaking violently, shaking its head, keening: "Please let me out! It hurts! It hurts!" ]
