[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding.

[will, with his left wrist mysteriously in a cast, seems to be throwing lemon graham a birthday party in the kitchen. judging by now he puts a doggy cupcake on the floor and is singing the happy birthday song. yep. just will graham things.]

[Cora seeks out Will because she wants to talk to him, not because Lemon Graham is the cutest birthday boy in the world. It has absolutely nothing to do with Lemon's birthday. The new toy she has in her hand just happens to be a coincidence.

Except for all the ways it isn't.

Once Lemon is finished with her cupcake, she makes her way closer, crouching down to say hello.]

I didn't know they made cupcakes for dogs.

Yeah. I think it's mostly peanut butter and honey. [lemon doesn't seem to be complaining, okay. he even sniffs around cora like do you have an extra???]

[Sorry, Lemon, no additional cupcakes for you, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have treats in there somewhere that she usually saves for her dog that Lemon is probably sniffing out. That being said, she'll try to distract him with the chew toy and see if he'll bite (no pun intended).]

That actually sounds kind of good.

[Salty and sweet is always a good combination.]

[it takes him a second, but then he decides that he does in fact want to play. so lemon takes the chew toy from her, yay.]

It sounds easy enough to make. I don't think I'd mind eating it, either.

Is that a trend now? Snacks that are good for people and pets?

[She laughs before shaking her head.]

Sorry. I thought when it comes to dogs you might be in the loop.

[he laughs a little bit.] Well, I'm not.

[ doggy birthday party??? faith is on that shit. but first... ] What happened to your arm?

[sheepishly] I tripped over one of the dogs and fell onto an end table.

This is probably not a good place to laugh, right?

That's not even the most embarrassing part.

Oh my gods, what happened?

Alice was showing me a picture she took of Chester ... and I was so excited to see it that then I tripped over one of the dogs and fell onto the coffee table.

Ok, that's pretty adorable.

It was a really cute picture, too. Almost worth the broken wrist, after everything.

[ oh look, alice shows up when the "party" is over, what a surprise. doggie birthdays are where she draws the line. ]

This came for you. [ she puts a small package on the counter in front of him, addressed in her dad's handwriting. again. because martin likes will more than he loves his daughter. buttheads.

and then she crouches down to give lemon a kiss because she won't do birthday parties for dogs, but that doesn't mean she loves the birthday boy any less. ]

Huh ... that was thoughtful of Martin. [will is gonna open the package while lemon licks alice's face, taking a knife out of a knife block to cut through the packaging. it's ok he's right-handed so he can still do most hand-requiring things.]

[ it's the ring, which is funny because of that one time alice said her dad would propose to will. (there's also a card that says "thanks for taking her off our hands".) ]

I told you he likes you more than me. Did you think I was joking?

I think this is for you ... well, technically. [he holds up the ring to show her.] I don't think I'm supposed to hold onto it?

Oh, it's my Gram's ring. Ha! [ she looks pleased, holding out her hand like please deposit this on the appropriate finger please. ] Hazel, Hannah, and Hope all wanted it.

[he obediently puts it on her finger aw yeah.] But you won.

I did win. [ she looks at the thin band sparkling on her finger and grins. ] How was Lemon's party?

He liked his cupcake very much. He even had birthday guests.
