I was hardly in my right mind that night. Now, I'm not saying that I won't promote you, but... having it happen this quickly is likely to draw suspicion from Wynn. At the end of the day, I'm merely making a recommendation. It would be up to him to accept it.

I think he would have a lot of questions... questions to which I wouldn't have a good answer. You haven't been on a single mission as a squire, Dean. It's unheard of.

Besides- do you really want to come by your promotion through such ill-gotten means?

[She debates lying, or telling him that he would be better off not knowing. But asking Dean to give them a clean slate gave her the opportunity to be more honest, to be open with her squire and give them a chance to possibly connect on some level, any level. So she drops her eyes to her hands and finds the words.]
