[With Dumage MIA and no information on who exactly it was she was going to talk to for him, Sam finally takes matters into his own hands. Talking to someone about his abilities doesn't necessarily mean he has to tell them where they came from in order to get a handle on them so that they don't potentially start doing things on their own.

It doesn't take a whole lot of sleuthing to figure out who to talk to, so one afternoon he's knocking on Tia's office door, shifting back and forth a little awkwardly between his feet while he waits for an answer.]

Come in. [ tia is at her desk, looking through a pile of paperwork, pen between her teeth, but looks up as he enters with a smile ] Can I help you?

[familybusiness]

Uh, yeah, I hope so.

[He shifts on his feet a little awkward, deciding whether or not to sit down and then just...standing there.]

My name is Sam. Sam Winchester. I'm a member of the Dragon's Hoard, but I was wondering if anyone in your sect ever...provided training for those outside of it that might need it?

[telekinect]

I don't imagine you're asking for a friend. [ she puts the pen aside, getting to her feet, and extending a hand ] It's nice to meet you, Sam.

[familybusiness]

Nope, definitely talking about me.

[He shakes it, with a friendly but someone awkward smile.]

Yeah, you too.

[telekinect]

Why don't you have a seat? [ she moves to take her own while he does so ] What's going on, Sam?

[familybusiness]

[He sits down in the chair across from her, resting one ankle on his other knee.]

Alright, well, back before I crossed over the Veil I used to have...visions. Premonitions, I guess, about terrible things that were going to happen to people. Sometimes I could get there in time to help and sometimes, well...

[Yep.]

A couple of times I managed to...move something without touching it. Since I've gotten here, the former has stopped, but the latter? I haven't tried much, but it seems to be getting easier, almost.

[It seems to be somewhat difficult for him to talk about, but he manages to get it out without too much awkwardness.

That fact that he's pretty sure she can probably read his mind isn't...helping matters. Dude has a lot of skeletons.]

That might make sense, considering those sound like two entirely different things.

If you're psionic, perhaps that power resonates with something in this world more strongly. But I don't know any psions who see the future. That's something else entirely.

[familybusiness]

I wan't born with these things. They were...given to me. There were a bunch of other kids like me, and all our abilities started manifesting around the same time.

[His lips press together.]

I hadn't even heard the term psion until I was over here. It all falls under the realm of psychic where I'm from.

[telekinection]

What do you mean, "given to you"?

[familybusiness]

[He shifts uncomfortably.]

I'm not sure you'd believe me if I told you.

[telekinection]

I take it that means you might not be interested in sharing that detail.

[familybusiness]

It's not usually a great first-meeting conversation topic.

[A beat.]

Then again, neither is 'I used to see people die,' I guess...

[telekinection]

[ her forehead furrows, and she studies him carefully ] Your visions. They were always about death?

[familybusiness]

[He nods slowly.]

They always involved either something close to me or one of the other special kids I mentioned earlier. That said, I think that whatever might have been causing them was cut off when I came through the Veil. It would explain why I haven't had one since, right?

[Since the things he was having premonitions about don't exist here, or aren't technically *his*.]

[telekinection]

Well, if the source was a connection to other people, and none of them were here, that might stand to reason.

[familybusiness]

I just don't want to end up in a situation where I do something on accident, whether or not the visions come back. Even if they do, it's the least dangerous of what these other kids and I could do.

[telekinect]

There are ways to test whether your abilities are actually psionic. But to do so, you'd have to let me in.

[He manages to suppress any physical signs of discomfort at that suggestion, and it only takes him a moment to nod his agreement to her offer.]

I'm guessing you're pretty good at keeping secrets or not too many people would let you do that kind of thing, huh?

[telekinection]

I read minds for a living. If I wasn't good at keeping secrets, I would have been run out on a rail a long time ago.

Then I'll try not to put up a fight.

[So if he feels any intrusion(?) he'll make the effort not to resist it. You have permission, Tia.]

[ she moves forward, slowly raising both hands to his temples, meeting his gaze. the mind naturally wants to resist, but he can choose to fail the will save nevertheless, so she closes her eyes, her eyelids fluttering slightly as she falls into whatever it is she finds there. her lips curve down into a deep frown, a troubled line creasing through the center of her forehead, and he would definitely feel a strange exterior force gently pressing in against his mind, a sensation of being watched, but from within ]

[He can feel himself starting to resist on instinct, and he has to force himself to stop. That still doesn't make the whole thing feel any less intrusive, though he tries not to let it bother him.

He's way more worried about what she might see in there. His mind isn't exactly the happiest place in the entire world.]

[telekinect]

[ yeah uh

she drops her hands, looking highly unsettled ] Sam...

[familybusiness]

[Well, shit.

His expression is uncomfortable, as well as mildly sympathetic.]

I did try to warn you.

[That is not the right thing to say in this situation, I don't think...]
