[ faith comes and plops down next to him in the library, a bright smile on her face ] Whatcha readin?

[He can't stop the grin that perks him up when she takes a seat, turning to her eagerly. It takes his mind a moment to catch up, the smile fading just a bit as he flips the book so the cover is visible. Some stuff about the Weave and Shadow Weave, etc etc.] Oh, nothing too exciting, just some more research for my book. What's up?

Your book. [ she wiggles her fingers, putting on a fake british accent with the word as if to mock him for his adorable self-importance. ] That's awesome!

And I... just wanted to catch up!

[wishuponadjinn]

[That causes him to chuckle, just now realizing how very much he's missed her.]

Yeah, it's been a while since we've hung out. How're you doing?

[moonheart]

Bored. [ she tucks some hair behind her ear, reaching over to pull the cover of his book shut ] You should entertain me.

[wishuponadjinn]

Now you sound like Fiona. [He closes his notebook though, scratching the back of his head with a raised brow.] What do you feel like doing?

[moonheart]

[ her teeth catch her lip, and her eyes dart down his face and back up for a moment, before she says: ] You play the piano, don't you?

[wishuponadjinn]

[He smiles, happy that she remembered.] Yeah, I do. You... want me to play for you?

[moonheart]

You should teach me! My dad would be so impressed.

[wishuponadjinn]

[He blinks, not expecting that, but his face lights in a smile. He likes this idea. A lot.] O-okay, sure. Um... now?

[moonheart]

Yes. Now.

[wishuponadjinn]

[He just grins, standing up and nodding his head towards the door.] First we have to find a piano. Good thing I know where one is in here.

[moonheart]

Super convenient, really. [ she jumps up and reaches for his hand, squeezing it ] Lead the way.

[wishuponadjinn]

[He tangles his fingers between hers, squeezing back lightly. He knew he was treading slippery ground, that he would have to be so very careful. But at the moment he just couldn't find any fucks to give.

He leads her out of the library into the massive hallway, heading in the direction of one of the more private rooms he had discovered while roaming the castle containing a piano.] So, your Father never convinced you to try your hand at piano?

[moonheart]

My father had me try a lot of things. That doesn't mean I was good at sticking with all of them.

[wishuponadjinn]

I bet you were really good at them when you did try. Your hands were made to play piano. [He lifts her digits to eye-level, not seeming to notice... how intimate that sounded.] Long and graceful. I bet, with enough practice, you'd be a pro in no time.

[moonheart]

[ well. she noticed, ok. in fact, she runs her fingers up and down against his where he's holding them, smiling warmly, and... flirtatiously sorry not sorry (charm 23)] You really think so?

[wishuponadjinn]

He just stares at her, unable to look away from her flirty flirting face, swallowing thickly. He is so putty in her hands, it's not even funny.] Ye- Yeah, I really think so. You're just graceful all around.

[moonheart]

That's sweet. [ she looks down, hair falling out and curtaining her face again for a moment, bouncing back away when she looks up at him once more. she slides her fingers out of his hands with a feather-light touch that also caresses his wrist (nat 20 dex check idek, this hussy), and brushes her hair back again. ] Come on, maestro. Show me what you got.

[Pfffft, just gonna... keep that will save.

His adams apple bobs up and down as he looks down at his wrist, before seeming to realize that she was making words. Words that, after a moment of fuzzy-brained confusion, he finally understands.]

Oh, right, uh. It's just up ahead here. [Points to the next door on the left as they approach, turning the handle and holding it open for her to precede him inside.]

In here? [ in she goes, spotting the bench and going to sit herself down on it primly ]

[He closes the door behind himself as he enters, going to sit on the bench next to her. He runs his hands along the lid before lifting it gently, almost reverently.]

I think this is my favorite piano in the whole castle. It's old, but it has the most heart.

I never thought about a piano having a heart before.

[wishuponadjinn]

[He looks a bit sheepish at that, shrugging as his hands drift lightly over the keys, plinking out a simple tune (Perform: Piano 22).] I think all instruments have a heart to them, that gives them the quality of sound they have.

...Which I never thought as sounding so corny until just now. [He blushes, scratching the back of his head as his eyes dart to her face, possibly checking to see if she was laughing at him.] But this old thing has the most beautiful sound, more so than any other in the castle. It's... rich.

[ she's not laughing at him at all. in fact, she's just smiling at him, studying him as he plays with such simple skill. ] You make it look so easy.
