Last April, a kindly book seller and purveyor of magical lore found himself the victim of an attack via mail when dangerous magical creatures were sent to his shop from the untraceable sender "PTC".  Since then, Wynn's been tracking the mail system, waiting for that name to pop up again, in case it might lead them to find out who was behind the first attack, and stop any other disasters from occurring.  Recently, something popped up on the radar, so the Knights have to find a way into the exclusive restaurant the Spider's Web in Manchester, or its attached nightclub The Lagoon Club.

Basically. [She even... z-snaps. I don't know how that's supposed to make her look like she belongs here, but she is quite terrible at this.]

[Phineas grins. He might look like hot garbage, but he can sure as hell lie! Just to be extra sure, he'll burn an Action point and end up with a Bluff of 27 to get into character. "Be cool, man." He totally comes here all the time;]

I remember when this used to be the hottest place to be. It's been going downhill for years now. Bartenders are bottom-tier, at best... The line might move a bit faster if they hired a bouncer that could actually read the list, too.

[Just how fast is this line moving, anyway? lol.]

[ the restaurant line is super fast, at least, so they're almost up to the podium. which means the bugbear may or may not have ... heard that. given that his default expression is growly, it's... hard to say. cordelia chimes in with an exasperated eye roll of her own (bluff 28) ]

Ugh, tell me about it. I keep telling these guys we need to check out that new place that just opened up across town. Everybody's who's everybody is there.

[ as the couple ahead of them goes on in, the bugbear turns to stare down at them, letting out a low growl before saying: "Names?" ]

Cordelia Chase and friends. [Bambi pipes up, flashing the invitation that goes along with her other bullshit.] We should be on the list or the manager is gonna get an earful for false claims.

[she has no ranks in bluff, so she's just gonna stick to what should be true. HER FORGERY ROLL FOR THIS WAS 41. SHE WORKED SOME MAGIC, OKAY.]

[Kate does her best to affect looking bored, at least to go along with the overdone socialite that the rest of the group has going (bluff 22). It works pretty well, but she'll still grace the bouncer with her best charming smile (charisma 19).]

I'm sure there won't be a problem, will there?

[Flies with honey? Does that work on bugbears? Who knows, it's worth a shot.]

[ well the bugbear crit failed, so apparently he's

really really into it.

he stares past the rest of them, ignoring bambi for a second to give kate a fangy grin.

"No problem," he grumbles. ]

[And she will just smile in return, selling the part, before moving to head on past the door and into the restaurant.]

[And inside they go?]

[After they get inside, Phineas pumps his fist.]

Too easy. [Then he looks at Kate and grins.] I think he liked you.

Hey, if we get in a pinch, maybe you can show the bugbear a little skin, fearless leader.

[She rolls her eyes a bit, before focusing straight ahead again.]

Can we stay focused on the matter at hand, please?

[But it is something to keep in her back pocket for later. >.>]

[ the front entrance leads through a small foyer, into a waiting room littered with chairs and a small podium. a beautiful drown woman waits there for them, and asks them to follow her. the restaurant itself is packed with beautiful and clearly rich people, gorging themselves on expensive drinks at the bar they pass, and enjoying even more expensive gourmet meals as they head down a couple steps to the dining floor. a couple more private tables are peppered near the steps, and then eleven larger tables are situated in the lowered pit, in an arc. the drow directs them to theirs, provides them with menus, and tells them their waitress will be right with them. ]

[arrested]

[ Alisha feels SO out of her depth here. She's used to the cheap little places where people buy no label voda, people wearing Primark clothes that rip within five minutes of wearing them. Not posh shit with tiny plates of food and weird green shit on them. She looks over to the people around her as she takes a seat. ]

So what now then?

Keep your eye out for anything suspicious or that might lead to the back area where they keep the shipments.

[She's doing just that, keeping both an eye and ear out for any sign of trouble as she slides into the booth (listen 25, spot 23).]

Also see if there's maybe a bartender or some other support staff we might be able to get the location out of.

When the waitress gets here, at least two of us need to ask where the bathroom is. [Bambi speaks like she has totally done this before... let's be real, she was a criminal.] Girls always go in pairs, so it won't look weird, and while they're gone, they can see what they can find out. Someone else needs to get huffy with the rest of the table and go to the bar. Whoever's left can try to get as much information from the waitstaff as they can. Act like you want a job or something. Anything. Just don't make a scene.

That... is a shockingly well thought out plan. If I slip off to the bathroom also, I can work some magic and creep around all invisible-like.

Just make sure there's always someone at the table. That way they don't get suspicious that we ran off without paying or something similar.

I can totally work the bartender.

All right. How's this? Alisha and Kate can take the bathroom trip. Cordy can flounce off and go get a drink and Phineas can go off to see where the other two went. I'll stay at the table. Since I speak drow, I might be able to catch what the waiters are saying to each other when they think the customers can't understand them.

[Kate mulls it over and nods.]

Sounds good. Text if you run into trouble.

[Cordy and Bambi are at least somewhat in the same room with the table and the bartender, and Phineas will be invisible, but if something goes down, the rest of the team is there for back up.]

[ cordelia rolls her eyes and raises her voice stridently: ] It's always about you, isn't it? I'm having a serious crisis here, and it's like nobody cares! [ huffily, she snatches up her clutch and gets to her feet, saying coldly. ] Call me when the food comes. [ and makes a beeline for the bar. (bluff 21???) ]

[thesleeper]

[Sounds good. Phineas nods in response to the plan, and in the meantime might as well signal a waiter and get himself a drink. He'll wait until a bit after the girls have gone before he sneaks off to the bathroom himself to prepare.]

[In the meantime he'll act natural at the table making smalltalk with a Bluff 18]

[arrested]

[ Alisha stands up and grabs the little bag she's got with her, looking towards Kate a little exasperated. ]

Well are you coming?

[ Because that's how this works, right? ]

[Yep, that works well enough for her. She'll nod and get up to follow her to the bathroom. Good luck, Bambi.]

[Bambi looks on after them.] If you think I'm ordering for you, you've got another thing coming!
