While scams about genetically modified corn wouldn't normally fall under the purview of the Knights, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation has called in assistance from Wynn because of reports of the two agents investigating the matter running into some sort of Shadowkind that attacked them at the silos containing the corn in question.

The Knights fly out to Tennessee to check out the situation, and Christos drives them directly towards the silos in question, which are three lonely, old looking structures set in the middle of a field far away from any other civilization.

[ christos looks ready to retort, when abruptly said father comes back in, looking panicked.

"She's gone," he says, and the fear in his voice is very real. "Her window was open... She must have climbed out." he immediately grabs his coat off from the back of a chair. "I have to find her." ]

[ amy immediately abandons the discussion, following robert. ] Has she got anywhere she's likely to go? Hideouts, places you took her when she was small? [ her fingers snap back to the other men. ] Call the local bus and train stations. She can't have gotten far.

I'll go check around and see what I can see.

[ He doesn't wait to for permission, he just pushes off the wall and heads for and out the door. (search; 18 )]

Call and alert the agents. They can help canvass the area. [ he follows as well, as they all spill out the front door. robert is shaking his head, clearly trying to think straight.

"I-- I mean we used to go to the park... the zoo... there's a playground. I don't know where she would go."

sebastian, looking around in the yard, notices a pair of footprints in the mud below the girl's window... and a dropped stuffed animal not far from it - a ratty little kobold laying on top of the azaleas. ]

[ nodding, amy offers robert a reassuring smile, reaching out to squeeze his arm. they'll find her.

and then she pulls out her mobile to phone mulder. ]

[ Sebastian notices the prints. He stops to pick up the stuffed animal along the way, checking it out. Looking which ever direction the prints are pointing to see if theirs more. (search 24, if so, he's following them.)]

[ mulder picks up after a couple rings. ] Agent Mulder.

[ sebastian notices the tracks cut through the back law, heading towards the woods. ]

[ she steps aside, absolutely no flirtation in her voice, but a heap of fear and a sizable amount of pleading. ] It's Amy. Quail's daughter is the psion and she's run away. We need your help to find her before she gets hurt.

[ He's just gonna follow those tracks, holding the toy.]

[ he turns 110% serious when he hears that, asking earnestly: ] Where are you? Do you have any idea where she's gone?

[ meanwhile, the Doctor sets a hand to her father's shoulder. ] It's alright. We'll find her. She's just a bit scared and she ran. We all run when we're scared. I know I do.

[ Usually to other planets. He won't mention that. ]

Not yet. We're at the house still. She snuck out the bloody window. Sebastian's lookin' round the house. Mulder -- [ her voice cracks a little. ] She can't be more than twelve, she's just a kid.

We'll come right down. We'll find her. [ the words are more than just firm - they're a dead-set promise. with that, he hangs up.

meanwhile, robert shakes his head, following sebastian. "I'm afraid of what else she'll do when she's scared, without even knowing what she's doing." ]

[ Sebastian kept looking about for any sign as he walked, holding the toy back to Robert.]

Don't worry, I wont let anything happen to her, besides if we find her your with me. She'll be happy to see her dad. All kids are when their scared.

[ robert takes the toy, looking pained as he accepts it. "Then let's hope we find her before someone else does."

christos looks to amy and the doctor. ] We should all go. The agents will have to catch up, if they're so intent on helping.

[ amy will help them catch up tbh, bc she'll be texting mulder a play by play of where they are and what they find out. starting with texting rn that they're heading out. ]

[ the doctor turns his head towards amy, and bats her lightly on the shoulder. ]

Pond. You were a little girl once. Where would you go.

[ clearly she's the authority on little girls. ]Frightened and scared and probably thinking you're in trouble.

We will, have faith. So, what kind of things does she like? It might give me an idea.

[ He asked as he kept looking for clues as they walked. (Search; 18) ]

[ her answer is so swift that it's abundantly clear she only had a few hiding places that really counted in her childhood. ] Rory's house. I'd hide under the willow tree 'til Rory's dad found me and made me come in for tea and called Aunt Sharon. Otherwise I tried to get a bus back to Inverness for-- [ something. she shakes her head, rubbing her knuckles across her forehead, frustrated that whatever she wanted to go back to scotland for seems to be erased. ] I don't know.

Right then! [ he claps his hands together. ] Rory's house. Does she have a Rory's house? Not an actual Rory's house, that is. But close friends, places she finds safe. Or Inverness. She might even have an Inverness.

[ robert just looks hopelessly lost as to who or what rory or inverness are, but he does hesitate a second before coming up with: "There's a... a treehouse in these woods, in the backyard of the home of a friend of hers." ]

That's likely where the girl's gone, then. Let's make this quick. [ christos starts moving faster, encouraging the man to do the same as he starts to lead them that way. both christos and robert move rather quietly through the woods, particularly the drow, whose boots make no sound whatsoever. ]

[ amy hurries after them, quite soundless for someone who is texting mulder at the same time. (move silently 18) #millenial ]

[ they finally approach the treehouse above, and robert looks ready to call out for her, but christos claps out a hand out with lightning speed over his mouth. the trees create a canopy that makes it a bit dimmer here but everyone may make spot checks. ]

[ amy looks up and around carefully. (spot 22) please don't be a psion monster, please don't be a psion monster, please don't be a psion monster. just in case... amy is going to pull out her cricket bat. :) ]

[ it's... a psion monster.

at the base of the trees, amy can see a figure starting to draw together as if out of nothingness, crawling to life from the ether until it rolls up to a full 10 feet in height. while humanoid, it is monstrously distorted, with daggerlike teeth, claws, frosted hide, and sad bulbous eyes. there's something disturbingly familiar about it, but it's difficult to place. either way, it steps forward into view as christos pulls a dagger and release robert, cursing in drow under his breath. ]

We're too late. It looks as though she's dreamt up a guard of some sort.

[ robert looks horrified by the creature, taking a step back, before moving up by amy again, hand curled into a fist. "Is that thing going to hurt my little girl?" he demands. ]
