[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions: Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask! Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

Dweeb. [ she rolls her eyes, but "alcohol, mostly" is pm her fave coping mechanism. ] So I may have had an ulterior motive in taking you out for your birthday.

Well, I want to ask a relatively small favor.

I'm getting married eventually and if neither of us are dead, I want you to be there. As a participating member of the whole thing.

[he makes a face like she just told him to eat vegetables.] Lila ...

It's okay, I figured you'd say no anyway. That's why I told Astrid no bridesmaids. [ she shrugs like it's no big deal and actually.. seems.. pretty fine about the whole thing tbh. it's almost like she was expecting it and just figured she'd mention it in case he'd had some oxygen deprivation earlier. ] You still have to get me a gift though.

Wh— are you just not gonna have a bridal party if I don't participate in your wedding?

[bittersweeter]

[ she shrugs. ] It would be lopsided, I like things neat and even. It's not like we're having a wedding anyway so it's not like I need someone to precede me down an aisle or whatever.

[ambitionist]

[wis 11 ... squint.] What do you mean, lopsided?

[bittersweeter]

I have more friends than Sylar, he's not exactly social. You would have stood on his side.

[ambitionist]

Ohhhh, so you want me in the wedding to be filler for your fiance's side. That's really sweet, Lila. When you put it like that, I don't know how I could possibly refuse.

[bittersweeter]

[ her mouth thins into a line. ] That's what brothers do. No one is going to walk me down the aisle so I couldn't ask you to do that since it's not happening. Asking you to stand up for me, next to the person I'm asking to be part of my family for the rest of our lives, seemed equally as important, especially since you're already my family. But whatever. Call it filler if you want.

[ambitionist]

Fine, whatever.

[bittersweeter]

Look, I know you don't do romance or whatever, I get it. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask anyway. [ and she's going to change the subject immediately because she deals with rejection about as well as faye does, she just internalizes it all. ] Do they do dessert in sushi places or are we going to have to go somewhere else for the cake?

[ambitionist]

I meant that I'd do it. [BUT HE'S NOT GOING TO HARP ON IT SO] They have ice cream.

[bittersweeter]

[ yeah WHATEVER isn't the answer she wants ok. ] I guess ice cream is good.

[ambitionist]

I think it's only, uh, Japanese flavors, though. Like green tea and red bean.

[bittersweeter]

What's red bean?

[ambitionist]

Uh ... red beans? It's sweet, not that strong. I dunno how to describe it, you'd just have to taste it.

Okay, sure.

I was gonna get the green tea. We can get both, though. [don't get too far ahead of urself tho bc their dinner is only done now. alex is glad so he can eat instead of think about how offended he is that lila made him feel like a shitty person on his birthday.]

[ mmm food, she digs in inexpertly still because she's never going to be able to figure out how to eat sushi in clean bites. she's such a tragedy and even looks frustrated that she can't do it in one bite. aside from that she's notably respectful in eating it, not dipping it in wasabi or anything, like she googled it or something. ]

[what if he just ignored her and focused on his own sushi. that he eats like a pro. it's not like he lived in japan for awhile or anything.]
