The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia.  Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed:  they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital.  Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn.  They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.  

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

Val'drin? He actually had a hand in a bit of this mission as well. His knowledge about magical artifacts was certainly valuable to us.

[She nods with a smile.]

He was my mentor. I'm just glad he helped me find a way that I could still use my skills and help people at the same time.

[rationalizes]

Well, we could certainly use someone with some subtlety on our team.

[allmydreams]

[She is pleased that she will have a skill that will be useful, to be honest. She was worried that her approach to things wasn't going to gel all that well with the rest of the group.]

It is my specialty. My tendencies are bullshit first, punch later - mostly because I'm not that great at punching.

[rationalizes]

You should mesh well with Dumage, at least. Sometimes it's just a matter of preventing the others from breaking out into punching first.

That is always the trickier part. But I'm sure one way or another we'll be able to figure it out.

[TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK. We hope. We really, really hope. But she and Astrid at least seem to be on the same page, so that's a start.]

We've, er, made a bit of progress in that over the years. [ her face admits 'not much tho' ]

[She's amused for a moment, before shrugging.]

Progress is progress. Better than doing the same thing and expecting different results.

We've probably done our fair share of that as well.

[She smirks, before teasing.]

Well, I think some of that is unavoidable. You need to really make sure it isn't going to work.

[ she smirks a bit at that ] Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't trade my team for the world. Everyone brings their own something important to our little equation.

[She shakes her head.]

I wouldn't expect you to. I'm looking forward to being a part of it.

Did you have any questions about any of us? Or what we can do?

I know Vi, Myri, Astrid, Steve and Elena, and I was on a mission once with Rose, but beyond that, I can't really say I know much about any of you. But I take it from what you were saying before, you have your fair share of Hide members?

[At least those comfortable with making with the punching, anyway.]

[rationalizes]

Buffy, Spike, and Archer are all Hide members, yes. Spike's actually, well, a vampire, whereas Buffy... that's a bit complicated, and I'm not really certain how much it's my right to say, but she possesses a great deal of strength as a chosen of the gods. And Archer-- [ must say-- nice things-- about archer----- ] Er, I believe he was trained as an intelligence operative, but he has his um, own very unique style.

Hey, I can work with unique.

[She laughs a bit.]

Vi has always held him in high regard, and I trust her judgement.

[rationalizes]

[ LMAO gar... crit fails her attempt to school her features in response to that. sorry archer. ] Er. I... certainly respect Vi's opinion.

[Amusement clouds her features in response before she nods.]

I also heard that he went to town on those raptors during the castle attack.

That's true. He helped save both of the children. I'm certain his heart's in the right place.

[She nods in agreement.]

That counts for a lot in my book - so long as his execution doesn't completely outweigh it.

I never really knew that he was a martial arts expert. It seems he's full of surprises.

[allmydreams]

[She gives a small shrug.]

I think we've all got our layers to explore. It's what keeps things interesting.

[rationalizes]

Precisely.

It really applies to all of us. Kat is a very practiced mage - I believe she's earned the appellation of archmage now, but she's also quite skilled with computer. Mr. Descant is quite handy with a gun, but he's also a very experienced detective. I've done quite a bit of study into the fields of arcane lore, as well as a variety of sciences, to the end of trying to quantify magic in scientific terms.

[She nods a bit, curious at that topic.]

That can be a hard thing to do, when some sources of magic are so intuitive. Especially some of the more divine magics.

[rationalizes]

Most of my studies focus on the arcane, but that doesn't mean I don't believe even the divine could be understood scientifically were we advanced enough. I don't think it removes any of the mystique of it, for all that - if anything, it makes it all the more impressive.
