The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia.  Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed:  they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital.  Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn.  They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.  

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[ in what is a very fortuitous timed series of events, the paramedics walk out the door, and felicity and astrid press themselves against the wall and then... duck inside behind them, out of range of the invisibility spell, becoming visible just as the doors close. the two paramedics who just came out start heading deeper into the garage, and kat looks at des like well?

astrid and felicity are in a hospital hallway, with several corridors branching off here and there. ]

[with the girls doing their sneaking and the fact that they'll be able to get clear once they steal their uniforms and before that, they're not gonna be much use to them, he glances towards the automatic door and then nods that way, taking Kat by the shoulder and gesturing at the doors leading back to the garage in the hopes that they might be triggered to open again, before pulling back to the wall.

He shrugs, hoping she... gets what his ridiculous little charades act was supposed to mean.

C'mon, Kat. Tell him you don't want to annoy a bunch of paramedics with a haunted automatic door. No one is gonna immediately assume invisible people are doing it. they're gonna assume it's broken and probably tell a supervisor.]

[ she gets it, and leans forward to wave her hand in front of it again every time it starts to close so that it's basically just opening and closing nonstop...

however neither of the paramedics even seem to notice?? ???? ]

[GODDAMMIT. THEY ARE WORSE AT SPOT CHECKS THAN DES IS.

Des frowns and nods towards the door as he begins to dig in his pockets to produce a small pile of change, urging Kat to follow him, so ideally they can be standing in the garage again, but... off to the side of the door, so it can shut back. HE'S PRETTY CONFIDENT IN THIS ONE OKAY. JUST FOLLOW HIS LEAD, KAT.

Grabbing a quarter he winds up and hurls it at one of the light fixtures. (ranged atk 27) even if he doesn't actually hit the freakin' thing, he figures, it'll... produce a sound. Maybe.]

their listen checks weren't really much better. amazing.

kat looks impressed for five seconds, but purses her lips together and gives him a look like COME ON DESCANT when it fails to get their attention. she curls up one hand in a fist and pummels it into her other palm, like WHY DONT WE JUST KNOCK THEM OUT??? ]

[BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT TO JUMP IMMEDIATELY TO VIOLENCE, OKAY, but since haunted garage was his best plan while invisible, he just... slowly nods and mimics her gesture.

she holds him back a minute with a hand on his chest, lifting her other hand and crooking a finger in the direction of the camera sweeping this area. he would notice the cord on the back of the camera get pulled out, and then she lets him go, nodding at the guy who's in the actual back of the ambulance and a little harder to get to, indicating des should sneak up on him and she'll take the one around the side. move silently checks will be needed! ]

[Des observes, smirking in appreciation and tosses a wink her way before moving into position (move silently 25)]

[ she's actually surprisingly stealthy herself with a 17, and des loses sight of her as he gets up in the back of the ambulance behind the guy who is filling supplies in here, entirely oblivious to his presence. ]

[whelp. no time like the present. thanks to the magic of knockout punch, and the fact that this poor bastard's AC is probably not more than 22 flat footed... it's probably lights out. (atk 22, subdual dmg 6)]

[ surprise this paramedic is a HIGH LEVEL PARAMEDIC DES so when des' fist connects with the back of his head, it doesn't actually... knock him out. it does smack his face into the cabinet, however, which explains how he crit fails his initiative, so des gets to go again.

meanwhile outside, there's a shout suddenly cut off by a groan as kat lands a nat 20 punch in the guy's face herself, dmg 10) ]

[Des mouths seriously before delivering a swift return punch to the poor bastard's gut (atk 28, subdual dmg 6) LIE DOWN MOTHERFUCKER.]

[ it's a solid hit, but this guy is actually pretty built, and his hand scrabbles for the door of the cabinet and yanks it open as he ducks aside to try to slam it into des' face, but he's still reeling from the blows and there's no strength or speed in the move (atk 10). he realizes his mistake and tries to swing at him (atk 15), but it's nothing des can't dodge.

meanwhile, kat gets hit outside, but lands another nat 20 blow, dmg 14 ]

[what linebacker school did they find this guy at??? des rolls his eyes as he moves out of the poor bastard's range and tries to drive his elbow into the guy's back. hard. (atk 23, dmg 12). ]

[ he lets out a loud grunt of pain, grabbing the counter for leverage, and seems to realize that he's not going to win this fight, so he staggers towards the exit five feet, reaching down to draw out his walkie talkie.

kat lands another blow outside, managing to avoid both of his (atk 26, dmg 6). ]

[Oh fuck to the hell no. Des hisses, wishing these idiots HAD JUST FALLEN FOR THE STUPID GHOST GAG. Or they had a better con lined up. Or anything. Des, now clearly tired of pulling his punches, sighs in exasperation and SLAMS into the guy from behind (atk 25, dmg 13) and then just proceeds to punch him two more times (nat 20, dmg 16; atk 19, dmg 9)]

[ the walkie talkie skids to the floor as des' second blow sends the paramedic slumping to the floor with a groan. kat takes a single blow from the guy she's fighting with, but des can still hear her exchanging blows with the guy around the corner (atk 24, dmg 6) ]

[Yeah, she's... handling that. Des hisses, realizing he just... punched a paramedic unconscious and seems to be grappling with that for a moment before yelling in Kat's direction:] For the love of God, use a spell already.

[ she ducks two more swings from the guy, responding between gritted teeth and punches of her own ] I don't-- [ (atk 25, dmg 5) ] have a spell-- [ (atk 10) ] for that!

Well, that's peachy. [Des is just gonna pull his wallet out and slip a twenty into this guy's pocket... and then he thinks better of it and makes it three twenties. this poor bastard is gonna be so confused when he wakes up.

and then he just rubs his face as he sits down at the edge of the ambulance. kaaat. don't make him come out there.]

[ she takes another minor hit herself, but with two more heavy blows of her own, there's the sound of the paramedic dropping. ]

Where the hell are we gonna move these guys?

[Des moves around to the side of the ambulance and tosses another handful of bills on the unconscious paramedic's chest.] They were victims of a reverse mugging. Two strange people beat them up and gave them money. No one'll believe 'em.

[ she just looks at him like r u on fucking crack ] I mean people could come out that door any minute before Felicity and Astrid get back, dumbass. Or did you have a lot more unresolved anger issues to work out?

[he says as he scans the area for any sign of a closet or possibly a shadowy corner of the garage where two unconscious paramedics might go unnoticed for awhile. (spot 15)]

[ there's not really an unoccupied corner, just the spaces between parked ambulances, one of which at least it's adjacent to a wall. Kat picks one guy up effortlessly (str 19), the bills fluttering off him ] Well?
