[Even under normal circumstances, Malia is pretty certain that she wouldn't be exactly Valentine's Day's best customer. However, she's trying to move beyond her borderline stalker-moment with Stiles and just be glad that she's here and she's going to be useful. Once she goes on a mission. Which will probably happen once she gets a handle on her shifting and the changes in her abilities here. Cora, she supposes, is going to help her out with that. She just has to actually let her help.

Right now, though, Malia is learning all about the horrible outcome of buying the one assortment of chocolate that does not have the nifty guide to it. She's wary, because she's already eaten a few pieces that were awful.]

[Cora spots her with her box of chocolates, and makes her way closer. She still doesn't know how to deal with Malia sometimes, but she's at least trying to make the effort. She takes a deep breath as she makes her way closer, taking in the scents of different chocolates (survival 15), before glancing up at her again.]

Which kind are you looking for?

[animalistic]

I don't know. [She frowns, glancing up to Cora.]

This one smelled like strawberry, but it's definitely not what I expected. [The soft chewy substance was mostly fake strawberry flavoring.] I want one that smells like it tastes. [a beat.] No... tastes like it smells.

[She nods for a moment, taking another deep breath before pointing to one of them.]

That one's caramel. Should be as advertised.

[animalistic]

[Malia smells it, trying to associate the smell with whatever actual flavor she's going to get. She's wary and her tastebuds have been all over the fake flavoring spectrum.

She takes a small bite and feels the caramel ooze and land on her chin. Frowning, she wipes it off and finishes the bite.]

Okay, so that one out of all of them is good. Why would anyone actually want these as a gift?

[impetere]

Human taste buds aren't as strong as ours. They like the fake stuff, for whatever reason.

[She shrugs, before she sniffs out another caramel and points to it.]

Can I?

[She doesn't want to just steal her chocolate.]

[animalistic]

[Malia glances to Cora and nods.] Sure. I'm probably done with them, anyway.

[impetere]

Thanks.

[And she will pop the chocolate in her mouth, because mmmm chocolate.]

Are you going out tonight?

[It's a question mostly asked out of curiosity, more than trying to imply that she should.]

[animalistic]

No. I mean, I don't have any reason to.

[silverguardian]

Something wrong? [ nyna pauses as she walks past the girl, noticing the distasteful look on her face ]

[animalistic]

There's no map thing on the box. I thought they're supposed to have them. [These are all pretty gross, too, according to Malia.]

They're all artificial flavors. Why would someone actually want a box of fake flavoring?

Humans do some very strange things with their recipes here. It's all a bit too sweet, if you ask me.

[animalistic]

[Malia nods, breaking another piece in half and looking at the middle of it. It's white and it looks like foam. Nope. Not gonna do it.]

You're not human? [Malia would have smelled her when she walked up, but a) she figures that is possibly rude and b) she's been all sensory flooded with the chocolates.]

[silverguardian]

The ears didn't give it away? [ she tucks a blonde strand behind one so that it's more prominent ] I'm an elf.

[animalistic]

[Malia glances up and nods.] I didn't want to assume. Some people just have pointy ears. [Maybe not that pointy, but she's trying really hard not to just blurt things out as if she's a toddler that's at the mall.]

Are you from here?

[silverguardian]

No, I'm from a world named Faerun. A lot of people here just call it the Shadow World.

[animalistic]

Faerun is prettier to say, though. [Malia shrugs. If she had a choice, she'd always go with the nicer sounding word. Werecoyote wasn't always the best word in her opinion. She thought that Desert Wolf sounded cooler -- even if it was probably way more dangerous.]

Do you miss your home?

[ Today has been a sea of new faces and constant reminders of how long Dawn has been away. Too long. It's like being at home and being a stranger all at the same time. Like passing through the Veil all over again. At least, this time she hasn't lost any memories.

Memories like experiments like this. Dawn nods sagely, spotting the girl and the chocolate. ] Chocolate roulette. It's a terrible thing.

[animalistic]

[Malia glances up and nods.]

Most of them aren't even tasting right. [She holds up one that she actually cut in half, the pale pink center exposed.]

That is supposed to be strawberry. It tastes like a Starburst.

Yeah. The fruity ones are usually artificially flavored. Companies are way sneaky.

[ She picks up the lid, looking for a hidden diagram of what's what. Sadly, there is none. But she had to check! ]

That's usually why I stick to the caramel ones. Or cordial cherries! Those taste like what you'd expect.

[Malia nods, glancing up to the girl.]

You're new. [It's said in a very blunt manner, but she means it with niceness.]

Sorta? [ Dawn feels like saying that to everyone she comes across, but maybe she really is the new one. ] I've been on missions almost continuously for, like, two years. I feel almost new, to be honest.

[animalistic]

[Malia squints. She hasn't even been on one mission.]

Really? Are you a Knight, then?

[watcherjunior]

I am! All official, even, for like... a year-ish? That was the last time I was here.

[animalistic]

Oh. [Malia feels really unaccomplished right now. She's been here for a while and she hasn't even gone out on a mission. Of course, she had her werecoyote problems to handle.]
