[ it wasn't what he meant at all, but he doesn't seem eager to challenge her story either ] Pity about that. I was feeling a mite famished.

[huntersdaughter]

[She lifts her phone out of her back pocket glancing to the time. She frowns, because she's not sure she can walk into he same pizza place. Maybe when shifts change. She can't place another order, they'll call her on not picking up the first one.]

There's a diner up a block. [She's not shy about inviting him to come with. She barged into his place and pried about his objects. She probably owes him at the very least a cup of coffee.] If you can leave your unanswered call. [She gestures to the object.]

Not having much luck anyway. If he rings back, he'll just have to leave an inscription.

[huntersdaughter]

[She smirks, suddenly realizing that she has strange company for lunch on Valentine's Day. At the very least she has new information on someone who is familiar with arcane objects.]

Do you have enough room on there? I'd hate for him to call and get a "this object is full" message.

That's what he gets, I suppose. [ he's gonna get up and grab his coat, heading towards the door ] C'mon then.

[huntersdaughter]

[She takes another glance around his apartment and then follows him out.]

How do you feel about pub food? Never know when it comes to Yanks.

[huntersdaughter]

I'm not sure if should be offended or not, but I'm fine with pub food. [Mostly because she's pretty sure 80% of it has bread of some sort and where can you go wrong with adding bread to things?]

I'm more okay with pub beers, though.

Just don't expect me to buy.

[huntersdaughter]

[She laughs, shaking her head. She considers debating the merits of him paying for his own food, but she figures it won't really hurt to buy a guy some food and beers. She's done it for far less information.]

Alright, lead the way.

[ fast forward to once they're actually settled in at the bar with said food and beers. he takes a long swig of his, glancing around with the casual reflex of someone who is perpetually expecting trouble. ] So...

[huntersdaughter]

[Jo swallows a mouthful and reaches for her beer, eyebrow lifting as he tries to open up more conversation.]

How'd you meet ol' Castiel?

[huntersdaughter]

He was a friend of a friend. I wasn't really close with him, but I know a lot of people without really knowing all the details. However, Castiel isn't the usual contact you make. He tends to stand out in a crowd.

[rituals]

Something about that angelic presence of theirs really puts a crimp in their 'blend in' plan.

[huntersdaughter]

[Jo drags the edge of her burger into the pile of ketchup before taking a bite. She shrugs as she swallows the mouthful of burger. She doesn't know very many angels, but if they're all like Castiel — that makes sense. ] I didn't realize they even had a blend in plan. I don't know many angels. Definitely don't know their plans to blend in. As far as I knew it was more of a body jacking with permission type thing.

No jacking necessary for angels. They have their own form, so to speak. Look the way they look, as ol' Michael is always saying.

Most of the time, they're invisible to those what don't have the Sight. [ he point two fingers at his eyes, then back at her ] But they think it makes us all more comfortable when they don't show up naked and glowing. S'pose there's something to that for some.

[huntersdaughter]

[She hadn't really figured that things were so different here, but clearly they are. She's always been a bit guarded with discussing what she knows from her own world, but she thought that with what she'd walked into maybe she could press a bit. Clearly not the case. She doesn't want to make this guy think she's weird. Well — any weirder than he already figured.]

Naked and glowing could be fun. [She kids.]

They're missing all the fun bits in that form.

[huntersdaughter]

[Jo snorts a laugh. She hadn't really meant that kind of fun. She had been leaning more toward the general sort of fun. Like enjoyable and amusing.]

Well, I didn't mean any sort of fun that I'd be partaking in. I don't think I ever would think about Castiel that way. Glowing or not.

[rituals]

Best for you, or you'd be in for disappointment. A banishable offense, as they say.

[huntersdaughter]

[Her eyebrows lift. Banishable?]

That seems harsh. [a beat]

Who taught you all their rules and regulations?

[rituals]

That would be telling, wouldn't it? [ the cheeky look doesn't last forever, though ] Let's just say I've had a lot of run-ins with both sides. And spent some time in the Nine myself.

[huntersdaughter]

[It takes her a moment to link the reference to the Nine to the Nine Circles of Hell... at least, that's what she's assuming he's referencing. (knowledge arcane 24)]

Spent some time? [She furrows her brow at him, looking with concern rather than disbelief. She imagines that he wouldn't lie about that, because who would, but the way he says it -- it's almost like it's a casual thing. Considering what she knows that place can do to a person, she's wondering how different Hell is here than it was back home.]

You make it sound like a vacation spot.

Some parts are a bit more hospitable than others. Which isn't saying much of anything, given that all of it's Hell.
