[A garbled, static-filled transmission, encoded in a Shadow language, has made its way to the Knights attention, seemingly linked to a series of similar transmissions last year.  Equipped with a decoding program by the Dragon's Hoard, the Knights head to a set of railroad tracks that were mentioned, to try to see what this is all about... ]

[Welp. With a Crit Fail on her knowledge check, Frankie actually thinks that Darryl Brzezinski is in fact an infamous pornstar and is presently staring at Alice like. Whut.]

[Dipper's check of 21 means that he knows the name but... doesn't care that much. He probably enjoyed the bizarre horror films more than the actual good stuff. However, Dipper can't help but be suspicious. Making a movie doesn't seem like a particularly conspiracy worthy reason to be hanging around train tracks, so instead of looking impressed, he squints at Darryl, trying to figure out what he's not telling them (SM 20).]

[ with her nat 20, alice would know that his later works have been so out there, that certain critics have begun questioning his sanity, tbh. she would also know that he became a director because he became entranced by hollywood films smuggled into his home country when he was a boy and that he graduated from ucla.

she's also... read internet rumors that he's connected with the russian mob, so there's that.

dipper doesn't get the sense that he's especially hiding anything, but he does look a little nervous about this situation. he addresses alice, however, at the obvious recognition. ] Look, I'm a busy guy. You want a quick autograph or something, and then we can get on here?

[ alice ignores mabel for right now, giving darryl a shy smile, cheeks turning bright pink at the prospect. ] That would be amazing. I started watching your movies when I read that story about how you got into directing, it was so sweet. I wanna get the pen outta my purse, but I also don't want Jamie to punch me in the face, which... to be fair he totally deserves to do.

[ she glances at the bodyguard awkwardly, repeating her refrain of, ] I am so sorry.

[Dipper glances over at Mabel and raises an eyebrow, but... it is a decent strategy.]

[And Frankie is just going to let the others run with this plan. She's still hanging around with her hand on the car, ready to stall the engine if need be.

She is however going to casually flash her watch to Dipper and give him a meaningful look seeing as, he seemed to know how long they had.]

[ Deryn just steps closer to the car, still chewing his gum. (knowledge nat 20) ] I've heard of you.

[ He spoke up in his funny accent.] Are you going to make a movie down here? Kinda dark for that.

anyone who makes a dc 15+ listen check, however, suddenly hears the sound of a train approaching from the west-- but no bells or lights are going off, and the barrier doesn't seem like it's planning to go down anytime. ]

[ alice hears the train (listen 20 total) and while jaime is distracted, hopefully, by digging for the pen, she jerks her head for sara to move to the front of the car.

like...

they won't drive through her. right? right. ...right? ]

Yeah, of course, we don't wanna hold you up or anything, you must be wicked busy and all.

[Frankie too hears the train (Lis 22) but with them occupying this car, she's a little more concerned with the lack of boom-gates and the fact that other people could get caught in whatever this is.

So she's gonna make a ridiculous Nat 20 Spot check to try and see if there's a control for those barriers anywhere in sight.]

[Dipper's amazing listen check of 4 means he has no idea the train's coming, but Frankie's reminder of the time has him frowning. He doesn't know how long the train will take to get here, so all he's got is that they've got to stall the guys as long as possible.]

What's the movie you're working on anyway?

[ Deryn moves forward when he heard the train approching. (listen check 19) leaning on the hood of the car. Looking right at the man through the windshield, the lights from the car hurt his eyes but he smiled all the same. Twisting at one of the feathers in his hair. Playing a bit flippant and uncaring (bluff 17) but he had the same idea as Alice, it's not like they would drive through any of them. ]

I want an autograph to, I think.

[Sara, who also heard the train (listen 19) makes her way towards the front of the car as quickly as she can, as silently directed. Being an attempted block is at least a shot to keep them here for a bit longer.]

[Mabel does not hear shit, apparently. She's just gonna stand here with her arms behind her back. and when sara moves to get in front of the car, she moves a little to the side to see if she can block her from view.] Adoring fans, right? Worst part of the fame game.

[ frankie notices what she's pretty sure is the box that contains any manual overrides for the barrier on a pole nearby. darryl, however, squints around at them all, getting noticeably more irritated by the attention. he ignores dipper's question about the movie's content, snapping his fingers and saying: ]

Look, I love my adoring public and all, and I'll write one out to all of you, but I really gotta get moving. Just... give me your names.

What's the hurry? [Dipper manages to almost hide the suspicious edge of his question (bluff 15). Almost.]

[With Sara blocking the car, Frankie takes the chance that it will be enough to slow them down, signalling over the roof if it that she's going to slip away to try and... well do something. (There's only so much she can hand signal, okay.)

Assuming she can get to the box and do her thing in one round (If not she can break out an heroic surge) Frankie is going to do what she can to get those barriers down (Disable Device 32).]
