A several year operation investigating a Consortium known as PTC run by a mysterious man - now revealed to be a ogre - named Estavan has led to the discovery that he made a a business deal with a trio of demons. To no one's surprise, that did not end well, and Estavan has asked the Knights for help in setting things right. Estavan has asked the Knights to head to his warehouse in London and keep the creatures busy while he goes to meet with the Consortium's Ruling Council to find a way to take care of them. While Phineas, the Doctor, Val'drin, and Alec stay behind to clean things up at Estavan's home, Cordelia and Kate phone for back-up to meet them downtown at the warehouse.

They meet up in the warehouse district of the city, outside the large building.  There are several empty trucks parked out in the lot, but otherwise, no visible lights on, and only one door set in the side of it, and a few closed heavy loading doors.

[astrid glances up and ... approves begrudgingly.]

[And she'll move to take what was Ashley's place in maneuvering the forklift and try to steer them up towards the pallets (pilot 22).]

[ cages full of pixies, sprites, and other tiny fey folk fill the floating pallet. one of the tiny creatures notices them approaching and calls out: "Please help us, large ones! We have been captured and are to be sold as slaves. Don't leave us to this cruel fate." the other fey pick up the chant, begging for help. "Free us, please free us," they call. a tough-looking pixie adds, "We can make it worth your while, large ones."

cordy looks at the others, obviously intrigued. ] How much worth our while are we talking...?

[andblockbuster]

I mean fairies always seem to know where they're going, if video games have taught me anything...

[He suddenly snaps his fingers. (arcane lore 23)] Oh dude. I saw a documentary the other day about Pixies. I don't think they're gonna screw us over, but they're not exactly bound by their word.

[allaboutme]

Hey! Pixies! How do we know you're going to follow through, huh? [ yeah that's helping, cordy.

"We will help you! We will help!" they squeal ]

[Kate doesn't input her opinion one way or another, doing her best to see if she can try and gauge how truthful the pixies are being (sense motive 27), if it's at all possible.]

Help us how?

[ they seem legit???

"We ... we can heal! Yes! We can help those who are sick!" ]

Wow, that's way less monetary than I was hoping for.

[awkwardly and through gritted teeth:]We didn't exactly bring a cleric, Cordy...

[He looks at Astrid.] ...Even though we brought two actual medical doctors. Which are superior, but, like... Oh, to heck with it.

[Their argument is good enough for him, so he's gonna try to let them out. (disable device 23)]

[They seem like they're on the level so she doesn't stop him, but she also doesn't know enough about Fae, so ... ]

Is there any way we can guarantee they keep their word?

Um... bigger problem. [ cordy's voice is distant, full of shock and horror, probably because something skitters around the underside of the pallet, looming up behind topher as he works - an enormous spider, with a bloated body, as large as an ox. its legs seem to span almost fourteen feet, and its forelegs end in massive cleavers. four bulbous eyes, a malevolent gleam in each, rise out of its carapace. time for init, fam ]

[look just because astrid is a drow chaser doesn't mean she's stoked to see a giant fuckin spider okay. don't be rude.]

Yeah, more like enormous problem. [she draws her gun but uh how much useful shit can she really do against A SPIDER. SHE IS A MEDICAL DOCTOR DAMN IT]

[why is everything he's dealt with humanoid what does he even do against a giant spider jfc. it's not like he can slap it to death.]

Perhaps Ashley had the right idea. [just gonna... put himself between the spider and everyone on the forklift in case it decides to go for them. if it does, he'll try to block the hit because #unbreakable.]

[While Kate will appreciate Elijah being a meatshield, she would rather it not get near them at all, so she will draw her weapon and open fire quickly, taking a five foot step to the side so she doesn't shoot through Elijah and hopefully hitting the spider instead (attack 17, damage 20 with penetration damage, attack 12, damage 3, if either of those hit).]

[andblockbuster]

[Yeah Topher massively failed his spot check since he was working on the cage, SO ALL HE NOTICES IS A SUDDEN SOUND OF GUNFIRE and he yelps and presses closer to the pixie cage.]

What problem is so big you have to shoot at me?

[He looks over his shoulder and sees... That.

And he stifles a louder yelp and starts to dig for his gun. He doesn't have quick draw though, so that's his whole turn.]

[ well... shit, neither of kate's bullets hit this thing. it turns one of those horrible bulbous eyes towards topher and ... he has to make a fortitude save. ]

Less screaming, more killing!

[ cordy is gonna draw and fire, but she doesn't take the time to aim (atk 15). i'm sure that's real reassuring for topher ]

continues being the meatshield and ready to tank this bitch. if it strikes at them he can be useful but right now welp.]

[Kate huffs and resettles, trying again to take slightly better shots (attack 24, damage 10, attack 23, damage 5).]

[ astrid's bullet actually strikes the thing's carapace and dents it, and kate follows it up with two more well placed shots.

that, of course, draws its attention. it turns and charges forward, which means that elijah gets to slip in a turn to attack it ]

[Elijah grapples (33/18+15) and wrestles it into submission (32/17+15), taking the opportunity to do something he'd never thought he'd do and bite the spider. (attack/damage 29)]

[ the creature emits a high pitched shriek before latching onto elijah's neck in return with its hideous mouth-pinchers (atk 29, dmg 9). annnd its eyes start glowing orange... and then abruptly blast fire right at elijah, point blank (touch attk 27). 47 fire damage, unless he makes a reflex save of 23+, in which case it is only half damage.

cordelia screams in unison and fires another shot, but it comes nowhere near (atk 14) ] WHY CAN IT SHOOT LASER BEAMS?!!

[astrid doesn't know but she would LIKE IT TO DIE which is maybe why she aims real good. (atk nat 20!!!; 14 dmg)]

[okay that fucking hurt (reflex save 27) but he retaliates by draining (+5hp, 9 con dmg) so if you've ever wondered what spider blood tastes like he's ur guy??]

[The quip comes quickly, before Kate shoots at it twice again (attack 27, damage 6, attack 21, damage 7), her response clearly loaded with sarcasm.]

Why wouldn't it shoot lasers?
