chapter five ♔ it'll be a day like this one when the sky falls down

the blues - switchfoot
WHO || The Knights
WHAT || Failboat returns from the disaster in LA as the Knighthood goes on lockdown
WHERE || The castle, London
WHEN || Directly after this, Fall 2017
HOW || Actionspam
Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.
The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there. Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.
Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.
[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown. Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

He keeps himself busy during the day, doing a little training with Abigail's knife he's taken to carrying. At night, he holes up in the rec rooms and zones out to tv until he eventually falls asleep. He's not sleeping much. He's hardly eating. He's just sort of coasting and trying not to have a breakdown while trying to keep up appearances enough to keep people from worrying about him, if he can.]

She feels as if she's lost everything. All the time she spent focused on missions and she should have been there for her friend more. They talked about Lydia going to Ireland, they did spend time together -- but it doesn't feel like it had been enough.
Allison walks past the rec room and catches a familiar line of dialog from a movie. Pausing, she spots Stiles and decides to join him.]
Don't worry, I've seen this. You won't have to catch me up. [She doesn't ask if she can join him. She just does.]

It's almost over. You can pick the next one, if you want.

We can see what it suggests once the credits roll. Maybe there's some hidden treasure of a film just waiting.
no subject
That's how I found this one. [He's been here for awhile.]
no subject
How long have you been in here?

In Beacon Hills, if it had been her, she knows that Stiles would have kept an eye on her. He would have followed her and made sure she ate. Not that he'd bring her a deer or anything, but he'd bring her pizza.
Thankfully, she's managed to not stalk him through the halls. She just pauses when she catches his scent and tries to figure out where he's going and then heads off on her way. This time, though, she opts not to avoid him. She's worried about him and she knows that's okay. It's an okay thing to feel.]
I have Frazzles. [She raises the bag of chips. Crisps. Whatever. She got the bacon ones, because they at least smelled like bacon.] I don't understand the name, because I thought Frazzle was like hectic and these aren't very hectic. Food can't be hectic.
Have you eaten?
no subject
No, but I'm fine. I'll get something later. [He probably won't. Especially with chips so close and easy to grab, not taking any additional thought or effort.] Are those any good?
no subject
They need... something. [She makes a face, trying to discern what it is. Meat. They need meat. Real bacon. Not fake flavoring. And a burger. And a milkshake. And a steak. And a pizza.]
Here. Help me figure it out. [She offers him some, holding the open bag toward him.]
no subject
Bacon flavored things just make me wish it was actual bacon.
no subject
I don't like the bacon they put on potatoes and in salads, either. [She doesn't actually eat salads. For the record.] Those little pieces are dumb.

She places one sandwich on the coffee table, then settles back, crossing her legs in front of her. At first she's quiet, not really knowing what to say, before eventually settling on the most important thing to her at the moment.]
Are you staying?
[She wouldn't blame him if he didn't. If she wasn't so angry about what was taken from her, she isn't sure she'd be staying either.]
no subject
When Cora joins him, he glances at her, but doesn't say anything until she does.]
I wouldn't have anywhere else to go. [All of the people he knows live here, work here. He's built an entire life in another dimension here. Leaving would feel like losing everything twice over.] What about you?
no subject
I don't want to leave until they pay for what they did.
[To Abigail. She wants them to pay for what they did to Abigail.]
But I don't trust Hellsing either.

That and they tried to kill me once.
[Did she tell him about this? It feels like forever ago - four years ago, maybe more, but Hales have long memories and they don't forget.]
So naturally I'm a little concerned about the people like me.

Do you think they can tell? I mean- just by looking at you guys?
