The acting Heads of the Knighthood - Hasmed and Solace - have made a decision that is not easy for many. Given the terrible state of everything happening in America, they've decided to relocate operations entirely to the States, and have secured a facility vaguely near Las Vegas: agreeing to work alongside the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization to find a way to take down Blade. It is certainly possible, with the grim missions that lie before them, that many, or all, of the Knights may never return. Reactions to the announcement are certain to be strong, but it's time to choose what they will bring with them to their new life - and for some, to decide if it's a journey they can bring themselves to take.

Most of the facility is underground, and the Knights are each granted badges that will act as keycards to get them into the barracks area that has been sequestered for them in its own building (called the Enclave), as well as to access the other rooms that are open to their use. It is more or less similar to this, but scaled up in size to account for the larger numbers of people housed on base. There are separate buildings on the base compound for the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (The Sanctuary) and for those members of Hellsing (The Bulwark) who have relocated as well. The entire compound itself is referred to collectively as "The Harbor". Peter Fargason will continue to run training drills daily, attempting to mold the Knights into a more efficient combat unit, and Hasmed, Solace, Koraith, Dovan, and Lis'sa will continue to assign missions to members of the Knighthood, ostensibly aimed towards slowing the tide of monsters and evil doers heading to Los Angeles and protecting Shadowkind in America from the "war on Shadowkind" being waged by the American government, as non-humans are being rounded up as potential threats to the country. Hasmed and Solace have assumed joint leadership of the Knighthood, and appointed no Dragon's Claw to replace either the deceased Sir Bancroft or the now gone rogue Sir Chessing.

Gone is the eclectic decor of the castle rooms, replaced by a much more uniform look to each assigned barracks, which, unfortunately, sleep two to a room because of restraints on space. Feel free to sign up for a roommate on the thread on this post. In fact, everything here is much more polished, state of the art, and modern, which is a jarring change from the castle. How well people adjust may depend on quite a few factors... but for now, they are free to attempt settling in.

[Being underground is not Rosario's favorite thing to begin with - being underground in a government base that's monitoring their every move is really not her favorite thing. But she wants to be where Bea is and make sure they both make it out of this alive, so she is dealing, as best she can.

The biggest thing she needs to settle upon arriving, however, is making sure she has somewhere to pray. She's fairly certain her wife wouldn't approve of her turning their sink into a pool of still water.

So she borrows a storage container from one of the rooms - a small one, that will fit somewhere out of the way. The next challenge is finding somewhere quiet and still, and this base is consistently busy. She can be found:

Poking her head into empty rooms to see if they're actually empty.

Possibly holing herself up in a closet for five minutes so she can get a moment to breathe and pray.

Veeeeeeeery slowly walking her tub of water (thanks Create Water) to a nearby sink to empty it out. She can't just leave a tub of water lying around, that's irresponsible. (She's keeping the tub, though.)

Beyond that, she will try to be as helpful as possible: making potions, helping to manage supplies, occasionally training, though it's more to help heal training-induced injuries than actually learning how to punch things. She may even go poking around the technology areas, just to see what's around.

You're lucky I'm not giving you a tramp stamp, [ bea mutters, carefully drawing a design on her wife's lower forearm. bea is not the greatest artist in the world so it does not match the rest of rosario's tattoos, but it is from the heart! and it is slowly taking shape as a penguin. ]

Oh he is going to be a fat one. [ whoops. ]

That's fine. We don't discriminate against penguin tattoos based on size.

[Her tone is teasing, but she keeps her arm still, just letting Bea do her thing.]

Besides, he's a cute fat one so far.

He was supposed to be trim and regal. [ she huffs a grumpy breath ] I forgot how hard these were.

[ she could have picked a much simpler design, she has before and she definitely will again, but this is for her wife. it's important. the most important. ]

[Trying to keep her arm as still as possible, she leans forward and presses a kiss to her temple.]

Maybe try squaring up the shoulders a little more. Then he'll be a buff yet trim and regal.

[ bea briefly closes her eyes. her wife is so good. ]

A buff penguin, alright. [ a beat. ] I hate the desert.

[ she knows her wife loves the heat but bea loves the sea and this place is hell basically. ]

I know.

[She feels it too, but they have options, somewhere. Not enough options, but some.]

If you want, one day we can take a drive out to Hoover Dam. I know it's a river, and not the ocean, but it's something.

Gulf of Mexico isn't too far, really, I could pop over there if I start going insane. [ a beat. ] Hell, we could pop to Mexico City and spend Easter with your Papi's family if you want. I know they're not Catholic and I'm stereotyping your entire family but now that I think about it, I am really craving Mexican chocolate.

[ and, like, ernesto aguilar is the only man that bea loves. ]

Oh, Papi will one hundred percent hold Easter dinner if it meant that we were coming home.

[He'll argue that he doesn't think Pelor will mind.]

Besides, we didn't really have a reception anyway.

I can't wait for him to yell at me for convincing you to elope.

[ lovingly. she can imagine it already. "mija, why didn't you come here to get married? with people that love you!" he's been calling her daughter for so long at least nothing will change there. ]

He'll get over it faster than Mami will. I'm pretty sure if the world doesn't end we'll be getting the cold shoulder for at least a month.

At least if we save the world she'll have the chance to get over it, before being very happy for us.

[ annnd the door to her little closet opens up mid-prayer, where she finds herself facing now-co-head-of-the-knighthood and resident cleric solace. he looks mildly surprised, and slightly embarrassed to have interrupted ] ... I'm quite sorry.

[Looks up and blinks because sudden light!!! but she offers a small smile and waves her hand.]

No, no, it's okay! I was almost finished.

[This closet happens to have a convenient sink so she just pushes up to her feet and goes to drain it.]

Still bodies of water are hard to find in the middle of a desert.

[Unfortunately there isn't a lot of quiet in a base like this, but she's making due.]
