The acting Heads of the Knighthood - Hasmed and Solace - have made a decision that is not easy for many. Given the terrible state of everything happening in America, they've decided to relocate operations entirely to the States, and have secured a facility vaguely near Las Vegas: agreeing to work alongside the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization to find a way to take down Blade. It is certainly possible, with the grim missions that lie before them, that many, or all, of the Knights may never return. Reactions to the announcement are certain to be strong, but it's time to choose what they will bring with them to their new life - and for some, to decide if it's a journey they can bring themselves to take.

Most of the facility is underground, and the Knights are each granted badges that will act as keycards to get them into the barracks area that has been sequestered for them in its own building (called the Enclave), as well as to access the other rooms that are open to their use. It is more or less similar to this, but scaled up in size to account for the larger numbers of people housed on base. There are separate buildings on the base compound for the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (The Sanctuary) and for those members of Hellsing (The Bulwark) who have relocated as well. The entire compound itself is referred to collectively as "The Harbor". Peter Fargason will continue to run training drills daily, attempting to mold the Knights into a more efficient combat unit, and Hasmed, Solace, Koraith, Dovan, and Lis'sa will continue to assign missions to members of the Knighthood, ostensibly aimed towards slowing the tide of monsters and evil doers heading to Los Angeles and protecting Shadowkind in America from the "war on Shadowkind" being waged by the American government, as non-humans are being rounded up as potential threats to the country. Hasmed and Solace have assumed joint leadership of the Knighthood, and appointed no Dragon's Claw to replace either the deceased Sir Bancroft or the now gone rogue Sir Chessing.

Gone is the eclectic decor of the castle rooms, replaced by a much more uniform look to each assigned barracks, which, unfortunately, sleep two to a room because of restraints on space. Feel free to sign up for a roommate on the thread on this post. In fact, everything here is much more polished, state of the art, and modern, which is a jarring change from the castle. How well people adjust may depend on quite a few factors... but for now, they are free to attempt settling in.

[ In fairness, anyone who had met Kenzi in the past would be understandably expecting that if anyone was going to bail on a trip to near certain death, it would be her. She doesn't exactly have a history of being the most capable Knight, more inclined to be found drinking than training and one of, if not the longest serving Squires in the Knights history. They were probably just as surprised as her arrival at SHIELD as they were by the fact that she'd been sent on the Intel gathering Mission to L.A. but a lot had changed for Kenzi over the last year or two.

Some may have noticed that she'd spent a lot more time in the training room or outside working with Katniss before she ran away with Cristos and Francesca. That she now carried a weapon with her everywhere she went, not about to be caught without one like she had been the day of the attack. She still drank, but not as often or to the same excess that she used to, even getting up before lunch, a thing that had been unheard of before.

She's still Kenzi, however. Grossly inappropriate. Drinks more than she should and still partial to leather, black eyeliner, and terrible puns. ]

The Enclave

[ At least some things remain the same and while she might not have Hawley's room to convert into a bar, she does have what remains of his stash, as well as some of her own. There's not enough to sustain every functional alcoholic in the Knights, but for those needing to source a drink in the wake of the big move? Kenzi has got you covered.

Either come hit her up for booze or join her in her room for a drink or six. I'm sure Natasha won't mind. (You should have expected this, Natasha, honestly.)

[ No, that's not your eyes playing tricks on you. That is in fact Kenzi putting in some extra training time. Even more surprising is that... she doesn't actually suck. Maybe you spy her doing some target practice with a crossbow (Atk 26, 23 & 27).

[So Groot has been admiring Kenzi's shooting from a distance and finally steps up next to her to try for himself.

He proceeds to fashion an arrow out of his own branches, and tries to fling it toward the target on the opposite end of the lane.

Only for the leaves on the end to catch the air and have it fall about three feet away from him like a sad paper airplane (rng atk crit fail).

Have one very sad looking tree man dejectedly looking at the ground.]

[ There is just something about the sight of a giant man tree? Tree man? About Groot standing there in all his sad sack glory, staring at his self made arrow on the floor that just... okay is actually all kinds of WTF but it also happens to tug at her heartstrings alright! Don't judge her. She can have emotions about a talking tree. ]

Oh, hey no - Groot! [ She's just gonna slide on over and swoop up his arrow and make an amazing will save not to laugh a little because, bless. ]

See, look. [ And just to make him feel better, Kenzi will do an intentionally lousy throw, watching it fall sadly to the floor. ] You can use one of mine?

[Groot perks up a bit as Kenzi comes over, his head tilting to the side as he watches her display. This causes something to seemingly light up in his mind, and he turns to her with a big grin, holding one finger up, indicating to wait.

Then he walks over to the shooting lane, climbs over the partition, and casually strolls over to the target.

He then proceeds to PUNCH it. Apparently really hard (atk nat 20, dmg 34). It's a ruined mess.

His smile is ridiculously wide as he turns his head to look at Kenzi again.]

[ She's halfway through debating if a talking tree can be hurt by wooden projectiles... when it dawns on Kenzi what he's about to do and the response is a mimed protest that never quite passes her lips.

Her shoulders hunch, the slightest grimace as he, hulksmashes the crap out of that target but by the time he's beaming at her a smile has worked its way onto her face. ]

Or that... works too, I guess. [ Said more for herself, before she enthusiastically calls back. ] Yeah you show that target who's boss!

[His response to her excitement is to raise his arms in the air, with closed fists, and do a little jig.]

[ It wasn't Mars that went to the the room for Kenzi, nope. It was a familiar black cat. Venus moved over nuzzling her leg, who knows how she got inside, the point was, kitten wanted her love and attention. ]

[ It's Kenzi. It's entirely probable that she left the door open a crack, specifically for moments such as these and then breaking out a Handle Animal of 25, it's clear that there's a reason why the prettiest of kitties knows where to go toget the good scritches. ]

Hey pretty girl. [ Her whole face brightening as she scoops Venus into her arms, her fingers going straight for the sweet spot that she knows will make the feline purr. ]

If you keep this up, Mars is never going to believe I don't bribe you with catnip.

[ Is Mars in earshot? We just don't know. Eventually, she will get up to look for him... after she's gotten in some quality Venus time, anyway. ]

[ The prettiest kitty knows those are the best scritches. She pretty much melts in Kenzi's arms, loves being treated like the goddess her kind was once worshiped as. More scritches, plz. She purrs as those orange eyes peered up at Kenzi, at the mention of her human, of course he appears in the doorway.

A small mew signals his entry.]

I think the jury is still out on the capnip, Kenz.

[ He replied, looking better than he has in awhile, but he's had to play adult with his sister in his care, he doesnt look sleep deprived or hung over.]
