The acting Heads of the Knighthood - Hasmed and Solace - have made a decision that is not easy for many. Given the terrible state of everything happening in America, they've decided to relocate operations entirely to the States, and have secured a facility vaguely near Las Vegas: agreeing to work alongside the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization to find a way to take down Blade. It is certainly possible, with the grim missions that lie before them, that many, or all, of the Knights may never return. Reactions to the announcement are certain to be strong, but it's time to choose what they will bring with them to their new life - and for some, to decide if it's a journey they can bring themselves to take.

Most of the facility is underground, and the Knights are each granted badges that will act as keycards to get them into the barracks area that has been sequestered for them in its own building (called the Enclave), as well as to access the other rooms that are open to their use. It is more or less similar to this, but scaled up in size to account for the larger numbers of people housed on base. There are separate buildings on the base compound for the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (The Sanctuary) and for those members of Hellsing (The Bulwark) who have relocated as well. The entire compound itself is referred to collectively as "The Harbor". Peter Fargason will continue to run training drills daily, attempting to mold the Knights into a more efficient combat unit, and Hasmed, Solace, Koraith, Dovan, and Lis'sa will continue to assign missions to members of the Knighthood, ostensibly aimed towards slowing the tide of monsters and evil doers heading to Los Angeles and protecting Shadowkind in America from the "war on Shadowkind" being waged by the American government, as non-humans are being rounded up as potential threats to the country. Hasmed and Solace have assumed joint leadership of the Knighthood, and appointed no Dragon's Claw to replace either the deceased Sir Bancroft or the now gone rogue Sir Chessing.

Gone is the eclectic decor of the castle rooms, replaced by a much more uniform look to each assigned barracks, which, unfortunately, sleep two to a room because of restraints on space. Feel free to sign up for a roommate on the thread on this post. In fact, everything here is much more polished, state of the art, and modern, which is a jarring change from the castle. How well people adjust may depend on quite a few factors... but for now, they are free to attempt settling in.

[Kate also makes use of the training facility at her disposal, but she's usually more in the shooting range. Part of her knows that she should probably be focused on physical training as well, but shooting calms her, has a way of bringing her back to center, and she intends to take advantage of it.

She takes a breath, then fires a number of shots in quick succession (21, 31, 27, 21). The bullets lodge in the target, and she flicks the button to pull the sheet forward, judging the distance on the shots, and setting up a new one.

She doesn't really feel better yet, so she's just going to keep going again.

When she's not training, she'll probably be in the rec area, either watching movies, reading, or playing foosball, if there's someone who's willing to try and take her.]

[ kate's eyeing up the foosball table when faith looks up from her own book ] Oooo, do you wanna play? I'll totally play.

Sure.

[Playing is a lot more fun when there's someone else involved, and she could use the opportunity to turn off her brain.]

Red or yellow?

[As in the color of the little football dudes.]

Definitely yellow. Too bad they don't have green.

They may have been green once, and painted over to match their teams?

[The narration doesn't know anything about UK football teams but given the way Hunter and Fitz argue about football it seems like something they would do. Kate doesn't know this, but it's a theory.]

Personally I would have liked a little blue.

Guess we'll have to settle. [ she gives the knobs a bit of a spin ] Ok, so, I've only done this like... once before?

It's pretty easy. Just get the ball in the hole.

[She's fairly decent, but that's mostly muscle memory from her life before the veil. She doesn't know why she's so comfortable with the game, but she'll take it.]

Should I warn you that I'm super competitive? [ it's hard to know if she's serious when she's grinning that way ]

[Kate laughs, before nodding.]

Yes. Because it will make me feel less bad when I wind up being the same.

Just what I like to hear. Who starts?

[She leans back from her side to look in the pocket of her goal for the ball.]

I'd say whoever got scored on last?

[She doesn't one hundred percent know the rules so basically whoever's got the ball.]

Oooo it's me. [ she pulls it out triumphantly ] Do I just... drop it in the middle orrrr?

[She nods.]

There should be a hole on the side, and once it's in just try and keep me from scoring on you.

[More or less.]

Ohh, got it. [ and she will insert it and then move her hands back to the handles. ] Let's do this!

[And Kate will reach for the handles eagerly, but she is a bit rusty, so her reflexes are a bit slow to start (dexterity 10).]

[ faith, in the meantime, takes to this like a fish to water with a 25 reflex, twirling those knobs like it ain't on thang ] Do I yell "GOOOOOAL"?

[Kate laughs as she goes to retrieve the ball from her goal box.]

I say go for it if the spirit moves you.

[ caroline is, shall we say, less excellent with the excalibur. she doesn't like the feel of the gun in her hands, that's just how it is. but kate is, well, great at it and when she brings the target toward her, caroline can't help but blurting out: ]

[She smiles at the exclamation, before waving it off.]

It's just practice. And remnants of my old life, I guess.

I practice and... I suck.

[ no remnants, she supposes. ] What was your old life? Olympic sharpshooter?

A cop, actually.

[She's managed to figure that much out in context.]

I don't remember much of it, but apparently muscle memory counts for a lot.

[highlyemotional]

Wow. ...I was cheerleader.

[ muscle memory worked for that too but also just memory. ]

That's not a bad thing. Cheerleaders have to have pretty good reflexes, especially if your flier looks like they're about to fall.

[Fun fact, the narration has caught ... many a cheerleader in her brief middle school cheerleading career, and some of then might have had her face involved but she caught them all the same.]

Think you could help turn those reflexes into better shooting?

[She moves to stand behind her, and gently adjusts her stance.]

You want to keep your shoulders square, and your footing solid. Try putting one foot a little in front of the other.
